This paper aims to examine the nature of kokugaku, an idea advocated by Motoori Norinaga who played a key role in developing the principle of kokugaku in Edo period, especially focusing on its religious elements in detail. Motoori Norinaga is a well-known Japanese scholar who established the foundation for modern Japanese nationalistic ideas. Yet, his way of thinking and accomplishments do not necessarily garner a blanket reputation for being a pioneer in the academic circle. So-called kokugaku, which refers to the study of thought and spirits indigenous to Japanese society, tries to direct spotlight on a way leading to what Japan should be, centering on the analysis of classical literature in Japan such as Kojiki, which dates back to as far as712 and also known as the oldest extant masterpiece. Even though Norinaga adamantly rejects the ideas of both Buddhism and Confucianism, he sets his sight on what religions and thought in East Asia should be; above all, he tries to understand the relationship between life and death from a philosophical point of view. The established Shinto also cannot escape from his relativism and criticism. Relativism is one of the methods Norinaga employs to dig further into the core of religion and thought. Though turning down the belief of "Neo-Confucianism" that focuses on universality, he continues to stick to the potentiality of understanding "universal" humans while admiring superiority of Japan, which resulted in inconsistent views. However, his contrary stance ranging from relativism to absolute belief begs the question of comprehensive system of thought in East Asia in light of the argument as to "philosophy of life and death."

A database was constructed for customers to find and choose and apparel product. The product information was collected from words on several kinds of advertisement, which purchasers meet in their ordinary life. The information was sorted and categorized in 8 basic mother categories (Target group, Color, Apparel type, Fabric, Size, Price, Manufacturer) to build a suitable database structure. Each mother category was arranged into subcategories. Also this study showed a demonstration version of the retrieval system. the research resulted can be used for more intensive retrieval system.

( Atsushi Ohtake ),( Masayuki Takatera ),( Takao Furukawa ),( Yoshio Shimizu ) 한국감성과학회 2000 춘계학술대회 Vol.2000 No.-
An apparel products retrieval system was proposed in which users can refer to products using Kansei evaluation values. The system adopts relevance feedback using history of the retrieval to learn the tendency of user evaluation. The system is based on a vector space retrieval model using products images expression as semantic scales. The system makes a query from user inputting information and retrieves closest products from the database. Revising algorithms of the difference method, linear multiple regression method and backpropagation neural network model are used for the learning. Some simulation was perfonned to investigate the effectiveness and criteria of the search. As a result of evaluation of the accuracy, it was found that the linear multiple regression and the neural network models are effective for the retrieval considering the individual Kansei.

In recent years, recommender systems based on machine learning have become common tools on various web ser-vices. Among recommendation models, embedding methods such as Item2Vec that utilize embedded representations of items are widely used in actual applications due to their effectiveness and ease of use. By utilizing embedded rep-resentations acquired through learning the interaction between users and items, it is easy to discover similar items from the viewpoint of the user’s purchasing tendencies. In contrast, with this method, only biased items are recom-mended, making it difficult to ensure a wide variety of recommended items. However, there is a trade-off between the diversity of recommended items and accuracy and providing diversity in recommended items while maintaining accuracy is a challenging problem. Therefore, in this study, we propose a method to expand the new evaluation met-ric "recommendation region" (sum of distances of recommended items from the user vector in the embedding space) without significantly reducing accuracy. Specifically, we recommend not only items that are close to the user vector in the embedding space but also items with a certain distance based on detailed observation of the positional relation-ships. With the proposed method, we aim to increase user satisfaction by expanding the diversity of items that the user comes into contact with in the service. Finally, we demonstrate the usefulness of our proposed method through evaluation experiments using open-source datasets.
A Latent Class Analysis for Item Demand Based on Temperature Difference and Store Characteristics
Yuto Seko,Ryotaro Shimizu,Gendo Kumoi,Tomohiro Yoshikai,Masayuki Goto 대한산업공학회 2021 Industrial Engineeering & Management Systems Vol.20 No.1
In retail stores, there is an increasing need for predicting item demand using accumulated purchase history data to cope with the fluctuating consumer demands. These fluctuations in item demand are influenced by external factors and consumer preferences. Among these, store characteristics and weather conditions, which are closely related to consumer behavior, have strong effects on item demand. For this reason, it is very important to quantitatively grasp demand fluctuations of items that are influenced by changes in weather conditions for each store by using an integrated analysis of the purchase history data of many stores and weather conditions. In this research, we focus on the temperature difference, which is the average temperature difference from the previous day, as a weather condition affecting item sales. Because consumer feeling about a temperature is dependent on the temperature difference from the previous day, it is meaningful to construct a prediction model using this information. In this research, we propose a latent class model to express the relationship between weather conditions, store characteristics, and item demand fluctuation. Also, through an analysis experiment using an actual data set, we show the usefulness of the proposed model by extracting items that are influenced by weather conditions.

Cell sheet engineering, which allows tissue engineering to be realized without the use of biodegradable scaffolds as an original approach, using a temperature-responsive intelligent surface, has been applied in regenerative medicine for various tissues, and a number of clinical studies have been already performed for life-threatening diseases. By using the results and findings obtained from the initial clinical studies, additional investigative clinical studies in several tissues with cell sheet engineering are currently in preparation stage. For treating many patients effectively by cell sheet engineering, an automated system integrating cell culture, cell-sheet fabrication, and layering is essential, and the system should include an advanced three-dimensional suspension cell culture system and an in vitro bioreactor system to scale up the production of cultured cells and fabricate thicker vascularized tissues. In this paper, cell sheet engineering, its clinical application, and further the authors' challenge to develop innovative cell culture systems under newly legislated regulatory platform in Japan are summarized and discussed.

( Satoshi Hosoya ),( Masayoshi Kamuo ),( Masayuki Takatera ),( Tsugutake Sadoyama ),( Yoshio Shimizu ) 한국감성과학회 2002 춘계학술대회 Vol.2002 No.-
The footwear such as socks and shoes is the clothing which are necessary to our life. In this study, clothing comfort of the footwear was carried out by physiological responses and subjective evaluation. As a result, the effect to walking comfort by the height of a heel in female shoes became clear. Then suitability evaluation system of shoes was proposed from the measuring results. On the other hands, the clothing comfort of the hosiery was evaluated from ECG analysis. By this analysis, it became clear that the factor which influences the clothing comfort of the hosiery was the clothes pressure in the hosiery. In the future, plane shape of the foot and solid shape must be considered in order to design the hosiery.
Magnetic Frustration Effects in the New Colossal Magnetoresistance Oxide NaCr2O4
Hikaru Takeda,Yasuhiro Shimizu,Masayuki Itoh,Hiroya Sakurai,Eiji Takayama-Muromachi 한국물리학회 2013 THE JOURNAL OF THE KOREAN PHYSICAL SOCIETY Vol.62 No.12
We have investigated the magnetic properties of the new colossal magnetoresistance oxideNaCr2O4 with the calcium-ferrite-type structure by using 23Na, 53Cr nuclear magnetic resonance(NMR) and magnetization measurements. This chromate is found to show an antiferromagneticorder with the spin moments slightly canted from the b axis at temperatures below TN=125 K. The spin structure may be governed by the competition between double-exchange ferromagneticand superexchange antiferromagnetic interactions in the double chains. The origin of the largemagnetoresistance is discussed for several scenarios such as phase separation, rearrangement of thespin structure induced by the magnetic field, and domain walls.
