Kinetics studies of nano-structured cobalt–manganese oxide catalysts in Fischer–Tropsch synthesis
Mohsen Mansouri,Hossein Atashi,Farshad Farshchi Tabrizi,Ali Akbar Mirzaei,Ghobad Mansouri 한국공업화학회 2013 Journal of Industrial and Engineering Chemistry Vol.19 No.4
The nano-structured cobalt/manganese oxide catalyst was prepared by thermal decomposition of [Co(NH3)4CO3]MnO4 precursor, and was tested for the Fischer–Tropsch reaction (hydrocarbon forming)in a fixed-bed micro-reactor. Experimental conditions were varied as follow: reaction pressure 1–10 bar,H2/CO feed ratio of 1–2 and space velocity of 3600 h1 at the temperature range of 463.15–523.15 K. On the basis of carbide and/or enolic mechanisms and Langmuir–Hinshelwood–Hougen–Watson (LHHW)type rate equations, 30 kinetic expressions for CO consumption were tested and interaction between adsorption HCO and dissociated adsorption hydrogen as the controlling step gave the most plausible kinetic model. The kinetic parameters were estimated with non-linear regression method and the activation energy was 80.63 kJ/mol for optimal kinetic model. Kinetic results indicated that in Fischer–Tropsch synthesis (FTS) rate expression, the rate constant (k) has been increased by decreasing the catalyst particle size. The catalyst characterization was carried out using different methods including powder X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and Brunauer–Emmett–Teller (BET) surface area measurements.
Evaluation of Genetic Diversity of Aegilops tauschii Accessions Using Morphological Characters
Mansouri, Sajjad,Mehrabi, Ali Ashraf,Kahrizi, Danial 한국작물학회 2013 Journal of crop science and biotechnology Vol.16 No.3
A collection of sixty-three accessions of Ae. tauschii belonging to different eco-geographical regions were used to evaluate its genetic diversity by 15 morphological characters. The data recorded were analyzed on all accessions using multivariate analyses. Principal component analysis (PCA) indicated that first six principal components with eigenvalues more than 1 explained 77.2% of the variability amongst accessions. Through cluster analysis according to Euclidian distance and UPGMA method, accessions divided into three groups. Knowledge of genetic diversity in Aegilops species provides different levels of information which is important in the management of germplasm resources.
Markov Chain based Packet Scheduling in Wireless Heterogeneous Networks
Mansouri, Wahida Ali,Othman, Salwa Hamda,Asklany, Somia International Journal of Computer ScienceNetwork S 2022 International journal of computer science and netw Vol.22 No.3
Supporting real-time flows with delay and throughput constraints is an important challenge for future wireless networks. In this paper, we develop an optimal scheduling scheme to optimally choose the packets to transmit. The optimal transmission strategy is based on an observable Markov decision process. The novelty of the work focuses on a priority-based probabilistic packet scheduling strategy for efficient packet transmission. This helps in providing guaranteed services to real time traffic in Heterogeneous Wireless Networks. The proposed scheduling mechanism is able to optimize the desired performance. The proposed scheduler improves the overall end-to-end delay, decreases the packet loss ratio, and reduces blocking probability even in the case of congested network.

We report the preparation and characterization of a new and water soluble complex of palladium(II) with 1,10- phenanthroline and butyldithiocarbamate ligands. This compound has been studied through spectroscopic techniques, $^1H$ NMR, IR, electronic spectra and elemental analysis and conductivity measurements. The complex shows 50% cytotoxic concentration ($Ic_{50}$) value against chronic myelogenous leukemia cell line, K562, much lower than that of cisplatin. Thus the mode of binding of this complex to calf thymus DNA have been extensively investigated by isothermal titration UV-visible spectrophotometry, fluorescence, gel filteration and other methods. UV-visible studies show that the complex exhibits cooperative binding with DNA and remarkably denatures the DNA at extremely low concentration ($~13\;{\mu}M$). Fluorescence studies indicate that the complex intercalate into DNA. Gel filtration studies suggest that the binding of Pd(II) complex with DNA is strong enough that it does not readily break. In these interaction studies, several thermodynamic and binding parameters are also determined which may reflect the mechanism of action of this type of compound with DNA.

Detection of micrometastasis in sentinel lymph nodes (SLNs) is a very useful tool for appropriate assessment of the clinical stage of disease in breast cancer patients. Early identification of clinically relevant disease could lead to early treatment or staging approaches for breast cancer patient. Micrometastases in SLNs of women with invasive breast cancer are of great significance in this context. In this study we examined SLN biopsies considered to have small numbers of cancerous cells by real time RT-PCR. All of the samples underwent immunohistochemical staining for cytokeratin for confirmation of the presence or absence of micrometastases. BUB1b expression assay of selected patients with and without metastasis showed overexpression in the former, but not in normal breast and lymph node tissue. Our results may be taken into account in the discussion about the merits of routine use of molecular assessment in pathogenetic studies of SLNs.
Seismic Fragility Estimates of LRB Base Isolated Frames Using Performance-Based Design
Mansouri, Iman,Ghodrati Amiri, Gholamreza,Hu, Jong-Wan,Khoshkalam, Mohammadreza,Soori, Sanaz,Shahbazi, Shahrokh John Wiley Sons, Inc 2017 Shock and vibration Vol.2017 No.-

With improving technology, the idea of using energy dissipater equipment has been strengthened in order to control the structures response in dynamic loads such as wind and earthquake. In this research, we dealt with seismic performance of base isolated structures with lead-rubber bearing (LRB) using incremental dynamic analysis (IDA). For this purpose, 3- and 9- story buildings have been utilized in the SAC project undergoing 22 earthquake records which were far-fault. Plotting the fragility curve for various states of design time period and isolator damping of LRB, it is observed that, by increasing damping, the isolator has not been activated in small spectrum acceleration, which shows that the annual exceedance probability is increased in immediate occupancy (IO) performance level and decreased in life safety (LS) performance level. The results show the reduction of determined failure probability in fragility curves for two levels of performance of uninterrupted use and lateral safety. Likewise obtained results show that, with increasing design time period of isolator, the amount of failure probability is decreased rather than the isolator with smaller design time period, for both LS and IO states. And the isolator illustrates better performance.

The complexes [Pd(bpy)(Hex-dtc)]$NO_3$ and [Pt(bpy)(Hex-dtc)]$NO_3$ (bpy is 2,2'-bipyridine and Hex-dtc is hexyldithiocarbamato ligands) were synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis and spectroscopic studies. The cytotoxicity assay of the complexes has been performed on chronic myelogenous leukemia cell line, K562, at micromolar concentration. Both complexes showed cytotoxic activity far better than that of cisplatin under the same experimental conditions. The binding parameters of the complexes with calf thymus DNA (CT-DNA) was investigated using UV-visible and fluorescence techniques. They show the ability of cooperatively intercalating in CT-DNA. Gel filtration studies demonstrated that platinum complex could cleave the DNA. In the interaction studies between the Pd(II) and Pt(II) complexes with CT-DNA, several binding and thermodynamic parameters have been determined, which may provide deeper insights into the mechanism of action of these types of complexes with nucleic acids.

Designer engineers have always the serious challenge regarding the choice of the kind of structures to use in the areas with significant seismic activities. Development of fragility curve provides an opportunity for designers to select a structure that will have the least fragility. This paper presents an investigation into the seismic vulnerability of both steel and reinforced concrete (RC) moment frames using fragility curves obtained by HAZUS and statistical methodologies. Fragility curves are employed for several probability parameters. Fragility curves are used to assess several probability parameters. Furthermore, it examines whether the probability of the exceedence of the damage limit state is reduced as expected. Nonlinear dynamic analyses of five-, eight-, and twelve-story frames are carried out using Perform 3D. The definition of damage states is based on the descriptions provided by HAZUS, which gives the limit states and the associated interstory drift limits for structures. The fragility curves show that the HAZUS procedure reduces probability of damage, and this reduction is higher for RC frames. Generally, the RC frames have higher fragility compared to steel frames.

Performance based design optimum of CBFs using bee colony algorithm
Mansouri, Iman,Soori, Sanaz,Amraie, Hamed,Hu, Jong Wan,Shahbazi, Shahrokh TECHNO-PRESS 2018 COMPUTERS AND CONCRETE Vol. No.
The requirement to safe and economical buildings caused to the exploitation of nonlinear capacity structures and optimization of them. This requirement leads to forming seismic design method based on performance. In this study, concentrically braced frames (CBFs) have been optimized at the immediate occupancy (IO) and collapse prevention (CP) levels. Minimizing structural weight is taken as objective function subjected to performance constraints on inter-story drift ratios at various performance levels. In order to evaluate the seismic capacity of the CBFs, pushover analysis is conducted, and the process of optimization has been done by using Bee Algorithm. Results indicate that performance based design caused to have minimum structural weight and due to increase capacity of CBFs.

Mansouri, Neda,Movafagh, Abolfazl,Soleimani, Shahrzad,Taheri, Mohammad,Hashemi, Mehrdad,Pour, Atefeh Heidary,Shargh, Shohreh Alizadeh,Mosavi-Jarahi, Alireza,Sasaninejad, Zahra,Zham, Hanieh,Hajian, Par Asian Pacific Journal of Cancer Prevention 2016 Asian Pacific journal of cancer prevention Vol.17 No.no.sup3
The membrane epithelial mucin MUC1 is expressed at the luminal surface of most simple epithelial cells, but expression is greatly increased in most breast cancers. The aims of present study were to investigate expression of the MUC1 gene and interactive affects in metastases. Whole cell RNA isolation from 50 sentinel lymph nodes (SNLs) of breast cancer patients was performed using reverse transcription and real-time PCR. All patients were diagnosed with breast cancer and without metastasis, confirmed by IHC staining. The evaluation of tumor and normal samples for expression of MUC1 gene, the results were 49.1% non-expressive and 45.3% expression (Student t, p = 0.03). Also in comparison of normal breast tissue and breast cancer SLN for MUC1 gene, MUC1 negative SLNs were 75.0% (18 samples) and MUC1 positive samples were 25.0% (6 samples). Over-expression of MUC1 gene may offer a target for therapy related to progression and metastasis in women with breast cancer.
