      • Impacts of Road Salts on Leaching Behavior of Lead Contaminated Soil

        ( Jingjing Wu ),( Timothy Cheney ),( Hwidong Kim ) 한국폐기물자원순환학회(구 한국폐기물학회) 2015 한국폐기물자원순환학회 3RINCs초록집 Vol.2015 No.-

Research was conducted to explore the effects of road salts on lead leaching from lead contaminated soil samples that were collected in an old residence area in Erie, PA, USA. The leaching test was conducted using a leaching solution used for the synthetic precipitate leaching procedure (SPLP) mixed with commercial road salts purchased from a local home-improvement stores. In order to evaluate lead leaching from lead contaminated soil in the presence of road salts, various levels of road salts (5%, 10%, 20%, 30% and 40%) were added to the SPLP leaching solution and tested for lead leaching behavior. The results of the leaching test showed that lead leaching was dramatically increased as road salts were added. With 30% of a fixed value of road salt, approximately 50 mg/L of lead was found in the leaching solution of one of the soil samples. This value is 3000 times higher than the Action Level of lead (0.015 mg/L) in the US drinking water standard. The lead leachability was highly dictated by lead mineral species contained in different leadbased paint pigments.

A two-component nonparametric mixture model with stochastic dominance

Wu Jingjing,Abedin Tasnima 한국통계학회 2021 Journal of the Korean Statistical Society Vol.50 No.4

In this paper, we introduced a new two-component nonparametric mixture model with a stochastic dominance constraint, a model arising naturally from many genetic studies. For this model, we proposed and studied two estimations. The first one is based on cumulative distribution functions with use of the stochastic dominance inequality, while the second one is a maximum likelihood estimation of the multinomial approximation of the model. For both methods, we not only proved their consistency but also examined their finite-sample performance through simulation studies. Our numerical studies showed that both methods work equivalently well. To demonstrate their implementation, we applied them to two real datasets.

      • The Research on Regional differences of China’s Trade effect from FDI

        Zhang, Zongbin,Xin, Jingjing,Wu, Shuxin 한중경제문화학회 2015 한중경제문화연구 Vol.4 No.-

The relationship between international trade and foreign direct investment has been become one of the most important issues among scholars’ researches. The majority of scholars made promoting effects of foreign direct investment in the export trade as their main research content, which focused on the relationship between foreign direct investment and trade effects in the host country to verify alternative or complementary effects. Recently, they have begun to regard the home country as the research object, with the latest trade gravity model to study the FDI’s effect in the home country’s import and export trade. This paper elaborates the theory of Chinese foreign direct investment and trade effects, which highlights China’s foreign direct investment of trade effects, influencing factors of these effects and their path mechanism. Followed by the performance of the gravity model, empirical test comes that the external direct investment contributes to trade creation and regional differences, and put forward policy suggestions accordingly.

Genome-wide scan for runs of homozygosity identifies candidate genes in Wannan Black pigs

        Wu Xudong,Zhou Ren,Zhang Wei,Cao Bangji,Xia Jingjing,Wang Caiyun,Zhang Xiaodong,ChuMing-Xing,Yin Zongjun,Ding Yueyun 아세아·태평양축산학회 2021 Animal Bioscience Vol.34 No.12

Objective: Runs of homozygosity (ROH) are contiguous lengths of homozygous genotypes that can reveal inbreeding levels, selection pressure, and mating schemes. In this study, ROHs were evaluated in Wannan Black pigs to assess the inbreeding levels and the genome regions with high ROH frequency. Methods: In a previous study, we obtained 501.52 GB of raw data from resequencing (10×) of the genome and identified 21,316,754 single-nucleotide variants in 20 Wannan Black pig samples. We investigated the number, length, and frequency of ROH using resequencing data to characterize the homozygosity in Wannan Black pigs and identified genomic regions with high ROH frequencies. Results: In this work, 1,813 ROHs (837 ROHs in 100 to 500 kb, 449 ROHs in 500 to 1,000 kb, 527 ROHs in >1,000 kb) were identified in all samples, and the average genomic inbreeding coefficient (FROH) in Wannan Black pigs was 0.5234. Sixty-one regions on chromosomes 2, 3, 7, 8, 13, 15, and 16 harbored ROH islands. In total, 105 genes were identified in 42 ROH islands, among which some genes were related to production traits. Conclusion: This is the first study to identify ROH across the genome of Wannan Black pigs, the Chinese native breed of the Anhui province. Overall, Wannan Black pigs have high levels of inbreeding due to the influence of ancient and recent inbreeding due to the genome. These findings are a reliable resource for future studies and contribute to save and use the germplasm resources of Wannan Black pigs. Sanguinarine impairs lysosomal function and induces ROS-dependent mitophagy and apoptosis in human hepatocellular carcinoma cells

        Jingjing Wang,Qi Su,Qing Wu,Kun Chen,Asmat Ullah,Mohsin Ahmad Ghauri,Yanmin Zhang 대한약학회 2021 Archives of Pharmacal Research Vol.44 No.11

Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is one of themost common tumor types globally. Despite the progressmade in surgical procedures and therapeutic options, HCCremains a considerable cause of cancer-related mortality. In this study, we investigated the antitumor eff ects of sanguinarine(Sang) on HCC and its potential mechanisms. Our fi ndings showed that Sang impairs the acidic environmentof lysosomes by inhibiting cathepsin D maturation. Inaddition, Sang inhibited the formation of autolysosomes inRFP-GFP-LC3 transfected cells, subsequently suppressinglate mitophagy. Sang also induced reactive oxygen species(ROS)-dependent autophagy and apoptosis in HCC cells, which was signifi cantly attenuated following treatment witha ROS scavenger. Further investigation using autophagyinhibitors revealed that sanguinarine-induced mitochondrialdysfunction and mitophagy led to mitochondrial apoptosisin HCC cells. Immunohistochemical staining of sanguinarine-treated xenograft samples revealed that it initiated andblocked autophagy. In summary, our fi ndings suggest thatin HCC cells, Sang impairs lysosomal function and inducesROS-dependent mitophagy and apoptosis.

Preparation, Curing, and Properties of Boron-Containing Bisphenol-S Formaldehyde Resin/o-Cresol Formaldehyde Epoxy Resin/Nano-SiO2 Composites

        Weihong Wu,Jingjing Leng,Zheng Wang,Hongqiang Qu,Jungang Gao 한국고분자학회 2016 Macromolecular Research Vol.24 No.3

Boron-containing bisphenol-S formaldehyde resin (BBPSFR) with different amounts of nano-SiO2 by in situ formation was used to cure o-cresol formaldehyde epoxy resin (o-CFER). The curing kinetics, dynamic mechanical properties, and thermal stability of BBPSFR/o-CFER/nano-SiO2 composites (BCS) were investigated by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), dynamic mechanical analysis (DMA), thermogravimetry (TG), and thermogravimetrymass spectrometry (TGMS). Morphology of nano-SiO2-containing BBPSFR and glass fiber laminates of the BCS were characterized by transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The mechanical properties and electrical properties were also determined. The results showed that nano-SiO2 accelerated the curing process and decreased the curing temperature; the non-isothermal curing kinetics of the BCS can be described by the two-parameter (m, n) Šesták-Berggren kinetic model, and the average value of m was 0.32 and n was 1.00. The thermal stability was enhanced by the addition of nano-SiO2, especially at higher temperatures, and the residual weight increased with increasing nano-SiO2 content. Incorporation of 6 wt% of nano-SiO2 increased the impact strength from 105 to 149 kJ/m2 and storage modulus at ambient from 6.85 to 12.7 GPa, and the TEM photograph of which showed that nano-SiO2 particles (about 50 nm) were dispersed in the matrix more uniformly. The volume resistance, Rv, and dielectric constant, ε, slightly increased when the nano-SiO2 content was 3 wt%.

Fault Detection for Interconnected Systems Subject to Packet Dropouts via Switching Scheme

        Jian Li,Jingjing Wang,Qingyu Su,Chun-Yu Wu,Xiao-Qi Zhao 제어·로봇·시스템학회 2020 International Journal of Control, Automation, and Vol.18 No.12

The design of fault detection filter for interconnected systems with packet dropouts occurring in measurement channels is proposed in this paper. Taking into account arbitrary disconnected interconnection among subsystems, switching scheme is introduced to simplify the analysis of the problem. By modeling these situations as independent subsystems, the novel systems based on arbitrary switched systems are remodeled. The design of the filter makes the augmented system exponentially stable and satisfies the disturbance attenuation performance. A feasible linear matrix inequality for the existence of filter is derived by switched Lyapunov method based on stochastic function. Finally, two examples are shown to illustrate the method and its effectiveness.

Linking user interaction and new venture growth: the mediating role of new product development

        Chaoqun Zhang,Jingjing Guo,Xiaobo Wu,Hao Jiao 기술경영경제학회 2018 ASIAN JOURNAL OF TECHNOLOGY INNOVATION Vol.26 No.2

This paper identifies both the breadth and the depth as two crucialdimensions of user interaction from an ecosystem viewpoint. Wepostulate that the breadth and the depth of user interaction arecritical to the number of new products developed anddevelopment speed, which can then lead to new venture growth. Survey data from 341 new ventures from ICT sector illustrates thatthe number of new products developed mediates therelationships between user interaction breadth, user interactiondepth and new venture growth, and development speedmediates the influence of user interaction depth on new venturegrowth. This study contributes to the literature by refining theconceptualization of user interaction, and developing atheoretically grounded research model to investigate therelationships among user interaction, new product developmentand new venture growth.

A 60GHz Wireless Cooperative Communication System Based on Switching Beamforming

( Wei Shi ),( Jingjing Wang ),( Yun Liu ),( Qiuna Niu ),( Hao Zhang ),( Chunlei Wu ) 한국인터넷정보학회 2016 KSII Transactions on Internet and Information Syst Vol.10 No.4

The challenge of penetrating obstacles along with impact from weak multipath effects makes 60GHz signal very difficult to be transmitted in non-line of sight (NLOS) channel. So 60GHz system is vulnerable to obstructions and thus likely results in link interruption. While the application of cooperative technology to solve link blockage problemin 60GHz system should consider the characteristic of directional transmission for 60GHz signal. Therefore in this paper a system is proposed to solve the link blockage problem in 60GHz NLOS communication environment based on the concept of cooperation and also the beamforming technology, which is the basis of directional transmission for 60GHz communication system. The process of anti-blockage solution with cooperative communication is presented in detail, and the fast switching and recovery schemes are well designed. The theoretical values of symbol error rate (SER) using decode and forward (DF) cooperation and amplify and forward (AF) cooperation are presented respectively when the common channel interference exists. Simulation results demonstrate that the performance based on DF cooperation is better than the performance based on AF cooperation when directional transmission is used.

Predictions of Bending Modal Properties of the 3D Braided Composites with the Homogeneous Theoretical Model

        Tao Liu,Jingjing Dong,Chaonan Ye,Xianyan Wu,Wei Fan,Linlin Lu,Jingyu Kang,Xingzhong Gao,Baozhong Sun,Honglei Yi 한국섬유공학회 2022 Fibers and polymers Vol.23 No.12

In this work, the bending modal properties of three-dimensional (3D) braided composites were investigated withthe experimental and numerical methods. Three braided angles were selected to study the braided angle effect on the modalbehavior of 3D braided composites. According to the experimental parameters, a homogeneous model containing the interior, surface and corner representative unit cells of the braided composites were proposed to compute the elastic constants of eachcomposite. Besides, the fiber breakage defects were introduced to the homogeneous model to improve the accuracy ofpredicting the modal behavior of the braided composite. The results indicate that the increase of the braided angle and thefiber breakage defects could apparently reduce the natural frequency of the braided composite. The modal propertiessimulated by the homogeneous models containing some fiber breakage defects could fit well with the correspondingexperimental results. The proposed method to create the homogenous model can be used to predict the modal behavior of the3D braided composites.
