        포괄적 성교육 개념에 근거한 나다움어린이책의 젠더감수성 분석

        젠더감수성은 성 역할 발달 초기 단계인 아동기부터 고려되어야 할 개념이다. 이에 유네스코는 ‘포괄적 성교육 가이드라인(Comprehensive Sexuality Education)’을 발표한 바 있다. 한편, 국내에서는 여성가족부가 아동기 젠더감수성 증진을 위해 ‘나다움어린이책’을 선정하였다. 본 연구의 목적은 나다움어린이책 속에서 포괄적 성교육의 개념들이 얼마나 다루어지고, 어떤 방식으로 표현되는지를 유네스코 가이드라인을 기반으로 분석하는 데 있다. 분석 대상은 저학년 아동을 위해 선정된 101권의 나다움어린이책이다. 연구 방법으로는 내용분석과 중심주제분석을 선택하였다. 구체적으로, 도서에 나타난 포괄적 성교육 개념의 양적 출현비율과 도서가 내포하고 있는 젠더감수성 가치를 질적으로 분석하였다. 연구 결과에 따르면, 나다움어린이책에서 가장 빈번히 나타난 포괄적 성교육 개념은 ‘가족 구성원의 역할과 책임’ 및 ‘관용, 포용, 존중의 가치’였다. 반면 ‘사춘기’ 및 ‘성과 임신을 위한 건강’ 등의 개념은 다뤄지지 않았다. 질적 분석 결과에서는 나다움어린이책이 젠더감수성의 가치를 추구하는 행동과 그 가치가 실현되는 과정을 주로 묘사하는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구를 통해 국제적 기준에 부합되는 젠더감수성 증진 아동 도서에 관한 비판적 담론이 활성화될 것을 기대한다. Gender sensitivity is a concept needs to be substantially count since early childhood when a child starts understanding and developing their gender role. As such UNESCO published the guideline on Comprehensive Sexuality Education(CSE) guidelines. In Korea, the Ministry of Women and Family selected the book called ’Nadaum children’s book’ in order to support children to better develop the gender sensitivity in their early childhood. This study aims for qualitative research on 101 books for low-grade children of Nadaum Children’s Books. Content analysis and theme analysis were conducted based on UNESCO’s CSE guidelines. This is to analyze the frequency rate of the CSE concepts and how the value of gender sensitivity is described throughout the books. The results shows that ‘family member’ and ‘value of tolerance’ were most frequently appeared while ‘puberty’ and ‘sex and health’ were not included. In addition, the results of theme analysis showed that this book well described the activities pursuing the value of gender sensitivity as well as process of being materialized it.

      • The role of dead Korean fir as the snag-dwelling arthropods’ habitat in forest ecosystem

        This snag-dwelling arthropod community study was conducted for the ecological evaluation of dead woods at Korean fir stand in Mt. Woonak in Pocheon-si, Gyeonggi-do, from April 2010 to August 2011. We put a windows trap and an emergence trap on the trunk of each snag, and we selected the six snags during the study periods. We collected 3930 individuals (5 class, 21order, 52 families) but we didn’t include the number of unidentified larva. We separated those individuals into the three functional groups and we found out the proportion and number of each functional group from the total individuals: herbivores (27.6%, 1083) predators (10.9%, 430), detritivores (61.4%, 2413), etc(0.1%, 4). We found out the proportion and number of each taxon group for herbivores, Armadillidae (0.15%, 6), Acarina (2.57%, 101), Psocoptera (0.25%, 10), Hemiptera (0.46%, 18), Mecoptera (0.05%, 2), Hymenoptera (not ant) (5.14%, 202), Aphididae (3.82%, 150), Cicadellidae (0.4%, 16), Curculionidae (3.61%, 142), Chrysomelidae (0.23%, 9), Elateridae (3.36%, 132), Erotylidae (3.16%, 124), Nitidulidae (2.6%, 102), Pyrochoroidae (0.08%, 3), Scarabaeidae (0.31%, 12), and Cetoniidae (0.13%, 5). Predators were consisted of the following taxa groups: Araneae (2.9%,114), Chilopoda (0.31%, 12), Formicidae (4.25%, 167), Carabidae (0.08%, 3), Staphylinidae (1.09%, 43), Cleridae (0.05%, 2), Pselaphidae (0.1%, 4), Colydiidae (0.38%, 15), Harpalidae (0.1%, 4), Histeridae (0.36%, 14), and Dermestidae (0.8%, 31). Detritivores were consisted of the following taxa groups: Millipedes (0.92%, 36), Archaeognatha(1.6%, 63), Diptera (7.81%, 307), Collembola (35.47%, 1394), Protura (0.03%, 1), Dermaptera (0.1%, 4), Tettigoniidae (0.08%, 4), Raphiidophoridae (0.03%, 1), Ipidae (14.12%, 555), Silphidae (0.15%, 6), Cuculidae (0.15%, 6), Cerambycidae (0.38%, 15), Oedeeridae (0.03%, 1), Lucamnidae (0.03%, 1), Stenotrachelidae (0.05%, 2), Buprestidae (0.13%, 5), Tenebrionidae (0.23%, 9), and Mordellidae (0.1%, 4), etc. Conclusively, the snag plays an important roll as the diverse arthropods’ habitats in the Korean fir forest ecosystem.

      • The Comparison Study of Adult Female Mosquito Collecting Efficiency by the Three Selective Mosquito Traps from Korean Rural Areas

        We used the three kinds of mosquito traps (Black-hole with UV light, CO2-baited Mos-hole with the newly developed attracting-solvent, CO2-baited DMS; Digital Mosquito Monitoring System) to know their collecting efficiency for the female mosquitoes in Korean rural areas. The Black-hole mosquito trap caught many kinds of insects including only few female mosquitoes. The Black-hole trap has the UV-light and the light seemed to attract other terrestrial and aquatic insects, such as the common flies, May flies, and the stone flies. Even though the trap was developed to collect mosquitoes, the trap caught only few of female mosquitoes less than 1% of all insects caught. Their selective efficiency to collect the female mosquitoes was relatively lower than other two kinds of traps. The Mos-hole and CO2-baited DMS traps had the collecting efficiency of over 80% to collect the female mosquitoes. The two traps caught the relatively lower number (less than 3% of total insects) of other insects, such as few Coleoptera and Diptera, and their collecting efficiency for the female mosquitoes was very higher. Generally speaking, mosquitoes disliked the UV light but they relatively preferred CO2 gas including the attracting-solvent. They had also been attracted the acidic solvent with CO2 gas. If we could use the efficient and selective mosquito traps with the fully understanding about the mosquito habits, we could assume that we can keep the biodiversity high around the mosquito habitats as well as to save money for the insect pest control.

        곡류 및 두류를 이용한 젖산균 전배양용 식용 배지의 제조

        본 연구는 곡류 및 두류를 이용하여 식용 가능한 젖산균 모배양용 식용배지를 개발하고자 실시하였다. 식용 배지의 제조를 위하여 곡류는 발아현미, 찰현미, 발아찰현미를 사용하였고, 두류는 대두콩(대두콩, 껍질을 제거한 대두콩, 발아대두콩, 껍질을 제거한 발아 대두콩)과 검은 대두콩(검은 대두콩, 껍질을 제거한 검은 대두콩, 발아 검은 대두콩, 껍질을 제거한 발아 검은 대두콩)으로 나누어서 젖산균 증식배지를 제조하였다. 실험에 사용된 젖산균은 Lactobacillus(Lb.) farciminis, Lb. homohiochii , Lb. pentosus, Lb. plantarum, Leuconostoc(Leu.) paramesenteroides, Leu. citreum 및 Leu. lactis 총 7종이다. 곡류를 이용한 식용배지에서 배양한 경우, 7개 종균의 평균 균수는 7.6~8.0 log CFU/mL의 균수를 나타내었다. 대두콩으로 제조한 식용배지는 껍질을 제거한 발아 대두콩 배지에서 대부분의 균이 높은 증식량을 나타내었다. 특히 Lb. plantarum은 10.08 log CFU/mL로 가장 높은 균수를 보였다. 검은 대두콩의 경우는 껍질을 제거한 발아 검은 콩배지에서 증식량이 많았다. Lb. homohiochii는 껍질제거 발아 검은 콩배지에서 9.90 log CFU/mL로 가장 많은 증식량을 보였다. 모든 결과에서 곡류와 두류를 이용한 식용배지를 이용하여 배양할 때 젖산균 증균량이 우수함을 알 수 있었고, 특히 가장 증식량이 우수한 ‘껍질을 제거한 발아 검은 대두콩’ 식용 배지를 향후 젖산균 모배양에 이용하는 것을 권장한다. This study was conducted to develop an edible culture media with various types of cereals and soybeans for the pre-cultivation of lactic acid bacteria (LAB). To manufacture the edible culture media, LAB enrichment media were prepared using cereals such as brown rice (including germinated brown rice, glutinous brown rice, and germinated glutinous brown rice), yellow soybeans (including yellow soybeans, hulled yellow soybeans, germinated yellow soybeans, hulled and germinated yellow soybeans), and black soybeans (black soybeans, hulled black soybeans, germinated black soybeans, hulled and germinated black soybeans). Seven species of LAB were used in the experiment: Lactobacillus (Lb.) farciminis, Lb. homohiochii, Lb. pentosus, Lb. plantarum, Leuconostoc (Leu.) paramesenteroides, Leu. citreum, and Leu. lactis. For edible culture media from cereals, the average viable cell count of the seven starter cultures was 7.6~8.0 log CFU/mL, while that of the MRS culture medium, a synthetic medium, was 9.2 log CFU/mL; thus proliferation was lower by about 1~2 log CFU/mL in starter cultures from cereals compared to the synthetic medium. In the case of the edible culture media from soybeans, most bacteria showed higher proliferation in the hulled and germinated soybean media. In particular, Lb. plantarum showed the highest cell count at 10.08 log CFU/mL. In the case of edible culture media from black soybeans, the proliferation rate was higher in the hulled and germinated black soybean medium. Lb. homohiochii showed the highest proliferation in the hulled and germinated black soybean medium at 9.90 log CFU/mL. All results show that edible culture media using cereals and soybeans are generally good for LAB. Especially, hulled and germinated black soybeans are optimal for the pre-cultivation of LAB medium.

      • Naked Eye Detection of Salmonella typhimurium Using Scanometric Antibody Probe

        <P>Salmonella is one of the most common foodborne pathogens, and Salmonella outbreaks are mostly associated with the intake of contaminated food or drink. Therefore, the rapid and sensitive on-site detection of Salmonella is very important. We report a naked eye detection method for Salmonella typhimurium using scanometric antibody probe. The antibody-attached glass substrate was treated with Salmonella typhimurium and the scanometric antibody probe was applied. After Ag enhancement of the probe, Salmonella typhimurium could be detected with the naked eye. The scanometric antibody probe was prepared by simply mixing Au nanoparticles, gold binding peptide-protein G, and antibody against Salmonella typhimurium. This probe can act as a signal enhancer and thus allows for an extremely simple, rapid, and efficient analysis of Salmonella typhimurium by the naked eye. We detected Salmonella typhimurium at a low concentration of 10(3) CFU/ml and clearly distinguished this bacterium from other foodborne pathogens. Furthermore, we successfully detected Salmonella typhimurium in milk, suggesting that this method can be useful in real-life samples. Because the scanometric antibody probe can be expanded to various types of antibodies, this naked eye detection method could be employed for the detection of various types of pathogens.</P>
