전기선,최은수 한국성인교육학회 2007 Andragogy Today : International Journal of Adult & Vol.10 No.2

This study is to examine the adult learner's attitude and non-participation toward continuing education programs run designed by museums. For this purpose, the subjects such as motive, decisive factors, barriers and program preference were focused and examined with the survey. Questionnaires in survey were answered by 275 people who have experience in the programs of the National Museum of Korean and the National Folk Museum of Korea. According to the results, the motive to participate in museum program was driven by the desire to expand their knowledge and experience. The subject of program that is inclined to be challenging for the participant was a main factor when it comes to choose a program. The most chosen obstacle was the commute difficulty. As for the program preference, the program run for year long was chosen the most. The results above tell us that museums should pay more attention to what the adult learner's want most. And, eventually, museums should provide a wide variety of the education programs drawing voluntary attention from the learners.

      • Variation of pre-harvest sprouting and ABA content in rice germplasm

        Gi-An Lee,Young-Ah Jeon,Ho-Sun Lee,Jong-Wook Chung,Do-Yoon Hyun,Jung-Ro Lee,Myung-Chul Lee,Kyung-Ho Ma,Sok-Young Lee 한국육종학회 2015 한국육종학회 심포지엄 Vol.2015 No.07

Among the diverse crops, rice (Oryza sativa L.) has been domesticated as a staple carbohydrate sources mainly in Asia region, and RDA Genebank at the National Agrobiodiversity Center (NAAS) has conserved about 37 thousand rice accessions accordingly. Seed dormancy, one of domesticated traits, prevents pre-harvest sprouting (PHS) which causes degradation of grain quality in cereal crop. In previous study, we surveyed the variation of seed germinability of diverse 200 rice germplasm and detected the three distinguished groups besides admixed types; the first group (G-1) revealed high germinability at harvesting time, and the second group (G-2) and third group (G-3) acquired high germnability subsequent to after-ripening and dormancy breaking process, respectively. To reduce environmental effects on detected variation of germinability, we selected representative 14 accessions which have similar heading date of each group and measured the degree of PHS using freshly harvested panicles. Variation of PHS showed similar tendency of germinability group; generally, high PHS for G-1, low PHS for G-2 and no PHS for G-3. To resolve genetic and physiological factors concerning on PHS and seed dormancy, we checked the change and variation of ABA known for critical regulator for seed dormancy, and high PHS accessions interestingly revealed high ABA content in 10 DAF. Based on these study, we plan to analyze genetic factors affecting the degree of seed germinability and PHS.

      • Variation of seed germiability in diverse rice genetic resources

        Gi-An Lee,Young-Ah Jeon,Ho-Sun Lee,Young-Yi Lee,Jung-Sook Sung,Jung-Yoon Yi,Jong-Wook Chung,Myung-Chul Lee,Sok-Young Lee,Yeon-Gyu Kim 한국육종학회 2014 한국육종학회 심포지엄 Vol.2014 No.07

Rice (Oryza sativa L.) is important crop as a staple carbohydrate sources and was regarded as domesticated in Asia region. The seed dormancy is one of the domesticated traits, and this character allows that plants survive in various environment. The degree of dormancy have been targeted for controling in breeding program while weak dormancy cause pre-harvest sprouting contrary to the nonuniform seed germination by strong dormancy. In this study, we surveyed the variation of germiability in diverse rice genetic resources including japonica and indica ecotype. Overall, the degree of seed dormancy of rice germplasm was distinguished into four groups and admixed types; first group(G-1) included accessions revealing high germiability, the accessions of second group(G-2) acquired the high germiability by after-ripening process, third group(G-3)’s accessions showed high germiability after dormancy breaking process and the accessions of last group(G-4) maintained the low germiability in spite of the dormancy breaking process. Among the 51 japonica accessions G-1, G-2, G-3 and G-4 included 15, 15, 11 and 10 accessions, respectively, and among 40 indica accessions, G-1, G-2, G-3 and G-4 groups included 15, 15, 9 and 1 accessions, respectively. Based on these primary test, we plan to detail examine the seed germiability and survey the genetic factors affecting the degree of germiability in representative accessions of each group

블라스 데 오떼로 시의 주제와 리듬구조의 관계

        전기순 ( Jeon Gi Sun ) 한국스페인어문학회 2003 스페인어문학 Vol.0 No.28

Cardiovascular and Gastrointestinal Effects of Etoricoxib in the Treatment of Osteoarthritis: A Systematic Review and Network Meta-analysis

        ( Dam Kim ),( Soo-kyung Cho ),( Seoung Wan Nam ),( Hyuk Hee Kwon ),( Sun-young Jung ),( Chan Hong Jeon ),( Seul Gi Im ),( Dalho Kim ),( Eun Jin Jang ),( Yoon-kyoung Sung ) 대한류마티스학회 2017 대한류마티스학회지 Vol.24 No.5

Objective. To estimate the cardiovascular (CV) and gastrointestinal (GI) risks of etoricoxib in the treatment of osteoarthritis (OA) compared to a placebo and other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). Methods. A systematic review of randomized, controlled trials (RCTs) of etoricoxib were performed. Bayesian network meta-analysis was used over a duration of 12 weeks. The incidence of CV and GI events for a duration ≥26 weeks were also tabulated and presented using descriptive statistics. Results. From this search, 10 studies were identified. Of these, 6 and 5 RCTs that measured the CV and GI events at 12 weeks were included in meta-analysis. They showed that etoricoxib did not increase the CV events compared to the placebo or NSAIDs during the 12 week period (odds ratio [OR]=0.59 compared to celecoxib, OR=0.89 with ibuprofen, OR=0.70 with placebo, and OR=2.16 with naproxen). The risk of GI events was comparable to that of most comparators, with the exception of naproxen, which had a significantly lower risk of GI events (OR=0.18) during the 12 week period. For a duration ≥26 weeks, the incidence of CV and GI events with etoricoxib increased with increasing duration. Conclusion. Etoricoxib is an alternative short-term treatment option for OA, showing comparable CV and GI complications to other NSAIDs. Nevertheless, further studies will be needed to elucidate the long-term safety of etoricoxib in the treatment of OA. (J Rheum Dis 2017;24:293-302)

      • Muramyl dipeptide potentiates a Bacillus anthracis poly-γ-D-glutamic acid capsule surrogate that induces maturation and activation of mouse dendritic cells

        Jeon, Jun Ho,Park, Deok-Bum,Woo, Sun-Je,Lee, Hae-Ri,Park, Ok-Kyu,Park, Jungchan,Rhie, Gi-eun Elsevier 2018 Cytokine Vol.110 No.-

Abstract

Poly-γ-D-glutamic acid (PGA) of anthrax is an important pathogenic factor due to its anti-phagocytic activity. Additionally, PGA has the ability to activate mouse macrophages for the secretion of cytokines through Toll-like receptor (TLR) 2. Peptidoglycan (PGN), a major bacterial cell-wall component, induces inflammatory responses in the host. We assessed whether PGA can induce maturation and cytokine expression in immature mouse dendritic cells (DCs) in the existence of muramyl dipeptide (MDP), the minimum motif of PGN with immunostimulatory activity. Stimulation of immature DCs with PGA or MDP alone augmented expression of costimulatory molecules and MHC class II proteins, which are all cell surface markers indicative of maturation. The observed effects were further enhanced by costimulation of PGA and MDP. PGA alone was sufficient to induce expression of TNF-α, IL-6, MCP-1, and MIP1-α, whereas MDP alone did not under the same conditions. Treatment with MDP enhanced PGA-induced expression of the tested inflammatory mediators; however, the synergistic effect found for PGA and MDP was not observed in TLR2- or nucleotide-binding oligomerization domain (NOD) 2–knockout DCs. Additionally, MDP augmented PGA-induced MAP kinases and NF-κB activation, which is crucial for expression of cytokines. Furthermore, MAP kinase and NF-κB inhibitors attenuated MDP enhancement of PGA-induced cytokine production. In addition, co-culture of splenocytes and PGA/MDP-matured DCs induced higher expression of IL-2 and IFN-γ compared to that of splenocytes and PGA-matured DCs. Collectively, our results suggest that PGA and MDP cooperatively induce inflammatory responses in mouse DCs through TLR2 and NOD2 via MAP kinase and NF-κB pathways, subsequently leading to lymphocyte activation.

Highlights

MDP enhances PGA-induced maturation of mouse DCs.

MDP enhances production of inflammatory mediators by PGA.

TLR2, NOD2, MAP kinase, and NF-κB signaling pathways are involved in PGA/MDP-induced cytokine production.

MDP increases lymphocyte activation induced by PGA-matured DCs.

Genetic Characterization of Clostridium botulinum Isolated from the First Case of Infant Botulism in Korea

        Jeon Jun Ho,Choi Chi-Hwan,Kim Jeong Hyun,Hyun Junghee,Choi Eun-Sun,Choi Sang-Yoon,Shin Yong-Woo,Pyo Seong Wook,Kim Dae-Won,Kang Byung Hak,Park Young Joon,Rhie Gi-eun 대한진단검사의학회 2021 Annals of Laboratory Medicine Vol.41 No.5

Botulism is a neuroparalytic disease caused by a neurotoxin produced by Clostridium botulinum. This study aimed to genetically characterize C. botulinum strain isolated from the first case of infant botulism in Korea reported on June 17, 2019. We isolated C. botulinum strain CB-27 from a stool sample of the patient and analyzed the toxin types and toxin gene cluster compositions of the strain using a mouse bioassay, real-time PCR, and genome sequencing. Toxin gene cluster analysis showed that strain CB-27 possesses a C. botulinum neurotoxin type A harboring an unexpressed B gene. Although the nucleotide and amino acid sequences of toxin genes as well as the toxin gene cluster arrangements in strain CB-27 were identical to those of the known strain CDC_69094, the total nucleotide sequences of the toxin gene clusters of CB-27 differed from those of CDC_69094 by 0.47%, indicating genetic diversity of toxin gene clusters of CB-27 among other previously reported C. botulinum strains. To our knowledge, this is the first description of a C. botulinum strain with two separate toxin gene clusters in Korea.

      • Gene flow of GM pepper

        Sun-Hee Shin,Min Jung,Jung-Mi Park,Eun-Mi Jeon,Chang-Gi Kim,Chee-Hark Harn 한국육종학회 2013 한국육종학회 심포지엄 Vol.2013 No.07

CMVP1 (cucumber mosaic virus pathotype 1) has been frequently occurring virus causing damage in pepper farms, and it is hard to control the outbreak due to lack of the genetic source resistant to this specific pathotype. Therefore, we have developed transgenic peppers tolerant of CMVP1 using a CP gene of CMVP0 pathogen. In order to fulfill the requirement of the biosafety assessment criteria, we have studied the horizontal gene flow from GM pepper to non-GM pepper by monitoring the transgene movement. If the pepper farms are located closely each other and the pollen moves from GM pepper to non-GM pepper, it would cause unintended fertilization. Therefore, a buffer zone to separate the cultivation regions is required to avoid the contamination of transgene. Previously, several data regarding the movement distance of pepper pollen were reported by judging the phenotypic change. However, no tool as a trace marker was available. The objective of this study was to assess the frequencies of gene flow from GM peppers to non-GM peppers in neighboring farms using the transgene of CP as a trace marker. The GM and non-GM peppers were cultivated in the isolated farm of Nongwoo Bio Co. (NW GM pepper field) and pepper fruits were collected from the NW GM pepper field as well as the neighboring pepper farms. The pepper seeds collected from the farms were planted and the massive PCR analysis was performed to answer the question how far the pollen of GM pepper migrates. The conclusive data based on the consecutive experiments for 6 years is that the gene flow by pollen movement did not occur in peppers that were separated each other over 30 m.
