<P>Emerging data indicate that interferon‐induced transmembrane protein 1 (IFITM1) plays an important role in many cancers. However, it remains unclear whether IFITM1 is functionally indispensable in nonsmall cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Here, using NSCLC cell lines and patient‐derived samples, we show that IFITM1 is essentially required for the progression of NSCLC <I>in vitro</I> and <I>in vivo</I>. Specifically, IFITM1 depletion resulted in a significant reduction in sphere formation, migration, and invasion of NSCLC cells <I>in vitro</I>; these events were inversely correlated with the ectopic expression of IFITM1. In addition, tumor development was significantly impaired in the absence of IFITM1 <I>in vivo</I>. Mechanistically, epidermal growth factor receptor/sex‐determining region Y‐box 2 (EGFR/SOX2) signaling axis was compromised in the absence of IFITM1, and the ectopic expression of SOX2 partially rescued the defects caused by IFITM1 depletion. More importantly, using 226 patient‐derived samples, we demonstrate that a high level of IFITM1 expression is associated with a poor overall survival (OS) rate in adenocarcinoma but not in squamous cell carcinoma. Collectively, these data suggest that IFITM1 is a poor prognostic marker of adenocarcinoma and an attractive target to develop novel therapeutics for NSCLC.</P>

To increase the molecular weight of the degraded nylon 6,6 by ethylene glycol, new chain extender was proposed, which can react with either the free amine group or the free hydroxyl group of degraded nylon 6,6. As a result of the application of new chain extender by 3 wt%, this paper classifies the molecular weight of degraded nylon 6.6 increased over 90% compared to virgin nylon 6,6.

The Korean Government is continuously disclosing public data and is pursuing various policies for industrial use. Although the government continues to public data, the use of public data in the private sector is still limited. There are some issues associated with public data, such as improvement of low quality and standards for connecting between heterogenous dataset. Also, comprehensive diagnosis is essential, including a process of identifying and releasing on-demand datasets in a timely manner and evaluation for public data that has been released. This paper evaluates the utilisation of local governments public data released to the public data portal. The data utilisation is measured by the users views and downloads of individual datasets. Although public data is constantly being disclosed, they are not actually being used by private sectors or enterprises. This paper diagnoses the current state of use of public data by local governments and proposes a means to improve the environment for using public data.

<P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>A new small molecule acceptor of IDTCN with indaceno[2,1-b:6,5-b’]dithiophene as electron-donating core and CPTCN (2-(6-oxo-5,6-dihydro-4H-cyclopenta[<I>c</I>]thiophen-4-lidene)malononitrile) as electron-withdrawing end-capping group was synthesized and investigated in organic solar cells. The IDTCN shows strong and broad absorption with a high extinction coefficient and appropriate energy levels matching with wide bandgap donor polymer. The best device based on PBT1-EH:IDTCN exhibits an open circuit voltage (<I>V</I> <SUB>oc</SUB>) of 0.93 V, a short circuit current (<I>J</I> <SUB>sc</SUB>) of 13.31 mA/cm<SUP>2</SUP>, a FF of 0.702, achieving a PCE of 8.69%.</P> <P><B>Highlights</B></P> <P> <UL> <LI> A thiophene-fused electron-withdrawing group is used as end group for small molecule acceptors. </LI> <LI> The OPV devices achieve high power conversion efficiencies of up to 8.69% with a high fill factor of 0.702. </LI> <LI> IDTCN in neat film tend to form unusual isotropic orientation instead of face-on orientation. </LI> </UL> </P> <P><B>Graphical abstract</B></P> <P>[DISPLAY OMISSION]</P>
XR 및 인공지능 기반 소방안전관리자용 훈련 시스템 개발안

현대 건축물은 대형화, 고층화 및 밀집화가 심화되고, 새로운 소방대상물의 등장으로 화재 발생의 형태가 갈수록 복잡해지고 있다. 이에 따라 소방안전관리자 직무 역량 강화를 위한 훈련의 수요는 증가하는 추세이며, 화재현장에서의 신속한 현장 대응력 제고를 위한 재난대응 교육훈련 도구 개발이 필수적이다. 따라서 소방안전 관리자의 역량 강화를 위한 실효적인 교육훈련체계가 필요하며, 이를 위해 XR (eXtended Reality) 및 인공지능 기술을 활용한 실감형 가상훈련 체계 및 콘텐츠를 개발하는 연구를 진행 중에 있다. 본 연구에서는 인공지능 기술을 기반으로 소방안전관리자의 훈련 시 모션을 자동 인식하여 관리자에게 전달하는 인공지능 기반 모션 인식 시스템을 개발하는 것을 목표로 한다. 시스템을 통해 추출된 교육 훈련 대상자의 모션 정보를 기반으로 교육 행동을 평가하여 XR 소방안전관리자 훈련 시뮬레이터를 고도화할 수 있다. 또한 STT (Speech-To-Text) 알고리즘 기반의 음성처리 모델을 개발하여 훈련자 음성의 실시간 텍스트화 작업을 통한 정량적 평가를 수행하고자 한다. 소방안전관리자의 상황별 필수 표현의 발화 여부 확인을 통해 시뮬레이터의 훈련자 교육 평가기술을 고도화 할 수 있다. 디지털 트윈 기술을 활용한 연구로써 현실에서 발생할 수 있는 상황을 컴퓨터에서 시뮬레이션하여, 이후에 일어날 결과를 예측하여 화재 상황에서의 인명피해를 예측 및 분석하는 연구도 함께 진행한다. 이를 통해 소방안전관리자의 화재 초기대응으로 인해 달라지는 화재 피해 규모를 정량적으로 표현하고, 교육자의 화재초기대응 능력을 평가하는 지표로 활용할 수 있다. 본 연구를 통해 훈련자의 음성 및 모션 상호작용 시스템 및 디지털 트윈을 활용한 인명 피해 분석 기술을 개발하여 소방안전관리자 교육훈련 시스템에 적극 활용될 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

The new recycled rubber material, in this study, was developed with recycling waste EPDM & FPM rubber. The crushing process in the specific shredder under high temperature could make the waste rubber pulverized and semidevulcanized. By the following continuous devulcanization process in twin screw extruder, these pulverized rubber particles were almost devulcanized and more fine powder with the size of 50~150㎛ were acquired. The performances of these two processes were from the frictional shear stress and also optimized individually by DFSS(Design For Six Sigma). This rubber powder would be a major component in making a new recycled rubber compound. As a result of the measurement of mechanical properties and durability performances of molded products, this compound could meet material specification and be confirmed to have no trouble in compression mold test for manufacturing those products.
Normal-Force Control for an In-Pipe Robot According to the Inclination of Pipelines

<P>To move freely, in-pipe robots must be able to adapt to the various geometric changes of pipes. Previously, we described an in-pipe robot that can adapt to changes in diameter and curvature of center curves. This robot is able to estimate the forces exerted on the inner surface of the pipes and balance its posture inside the pipe using angular sensors attached to its rotational joints. In this paper, a method is proposed to estimate the relative attitude between the robot's main body and the pipe using the angular sensors attached to a pantograph mechanism. The use of angular sensors makes the structure of the robot simpler and more effective than the use of force or vision sensors because the normal forces and attitude can be estimated from measured angle information. This geometric estimation of attitude relative to the pipes enables the robot to recognize the inclination of the pipes. The PAROYS-II robot can control its normal force according to the variation in pipe inclination. Thus, the proposed method could reduce power consumption and stress on the robot's parts. The algorithm has been validated by multiple experiments.</P>
