        신규로 건설된 군 위댐 호내 어류 군집 및 생태적 특성에 관한 연구

        To secure water resources, dams are normally constructed on the upper - middle part of streams, and it generates physical disturbances such as habitat alteration and stream fragmentation. Such construction can restrict movement of aquatic organisms, especially for freshwater fish which is one of top predator in aquatic ecosystem, and cause genetic fragmentation and community change. In this study, to investigate impact of habitat alteration after dam construction on freshwater fish, we monitored fish community changes, and compared fish fauna between dam reservoir and inflows. Additionally, movement characteristics and habitat boundaries of four species were identified by radio telemetry method. The study was conducted in the Gunwi Dam which was constructed in December 2010. Radio telemetry was applied to Pungtungia herzi, Zacco platypus (living lotic and lentic), Silurus asotus (lentic preferred species) and Zacco koreanus (lotic preferred species). The number of species was remarkably decreased (4 family, 10 species) comparing with before the dam construction (7 family, 15 species). Specifically, Coreoleuciscus splendidus, Niwaella multifasciata, Liobagrus mediadiposalis, Coreoperca herzi and Odontobutis platycephala that inhabit in the lotic environment were not collected in the study area. A total of 8 species were caught in both the dam reservoir and tributaries except 2 species (C. auratus and S. asotus). Sorenson``s similarity between the reservoir and its tributaries was high (0.842). All of the radio tagged species stayed in the reservoir except S. asotus which moved to the tributary. These species mainly utilized the shallow littoral zone as a habitat. These results could be useful as a baseline data for efficient management of fishes in lakes.

        Since most of sensor networks are usaully not designed with security in mind, it is difficult to add a security on their design. Because of the limitation of a resource, most of sensor nodes use broadcasting communication. It means that adversaries can interfere or distrupt the other nodes. As an one of security protocol, In-Network can find the inner attckers before the data packet arrives to the base station. In-Network assumed that all check node was deployed uniformly. But in the actual field, sensor nodes are deployed randomly. When the check node is deployed to one side, the other side can be exposure to adversaries. In this paper, we proposed inhanced security protocol againt inner attackers and the energy efficiency in wireless sensor networks using weighted Node. We adopted weighted node mothod to In-network protocol and then we can set check nodes on the whole sensor network uniformly.

      • JPEG2000의 EBCOT의 효과적인 비율왜곡제어 알고리즘

        본 논문은 JPEG2000 인코더의 EBCOT 알고리즘의 수행속도 향상을 위한 효율적인 비율왜곡제어 알고리즘을 제안하였다. 수행시간 단축을 위하여 EBCOT의 Tire-1연산부와 Tier-2연산부 사이에 코딩패스의 비율-왜곡기울기 감소특성을 만족하지 않는 코딩패스를 제거하는 전처리 모듈을 삽입함으로써 Tier-2 연산의 제한상수 갱신횟수를 감소시켰다. 제안된 알고리즘은 PXA255상에서 GCC를 이용하여 구현되었으며, Tier-l 연산부는 알테라사의 FPGA(Cyclone Ⅱ)상에 구현하였다. 제안된 알고리즘을 사용하였을 때 기존의 알고리즘을 사용한 경우보다 70%정도의 수행속도 향상을 보였으며 PSNR은 기존의 압축영상에 비해 1~2dB정도의 오차를 보였다. In this paper, we proposed an efficient rate-distortion control algorithm to increase processing speed of JPEG2000 EBCOT. We inserted preprocessing module between Tier-l processing modue and Tier-2 processing module to reduce the EBCOT processing time. The propoesed algorithm was implemented with GCC on PXA255 platform, and the Tier-l processing module is implemented with VHDL on Altera FPGA(CycIone Ⅱ). As a result, the proposed algorithm can reduce the operation speed about 70% compared with conventional rate-distortion algorithm. And the proposed algorithm degrade the PSNR on image quailty as small as I dB to 2 dB compared with the compressed image using conventional rate-distortion algorithm.

      • Leptin, MUC2 and mTOR in Appendiceal Mucinous Neoplasms

        <P><I>Objective:</I> Leptin contributes to mucin production in colonic epithelium and regulates carcinogenesis via various signalling pathways. We evaluated the proteins involved in mucin-producing carcinogenesis and putative targets for molecular therapy in appendiceal mucinous neoplasms. <I>Methods:</I> Immunohistochemistry and fluorescence in situ hybridization were performed in 22 cases of appendiceal mucinous adenoma, 20 mucinous neoplasms of uncertain malignant potential and 14 mucinous adenocarcinomas. <I>Results:</I> Leptin, MUC2, MUC5AC, mTOR and ERK were more frequently immunopositive in mucinous adenocarcinomas compared with mucinous adenomas or mucinous neoplasms of uncertain malignant potential (p < 0.05). STAT3 revealed immunopositivity in 82% of tumours, regardless of tumour category. MUC2 immunopositivity was associated with pseudomyxoma peritonei (p < 0.05). None of the tumours exhibited c-kitimmunoexpression, amplification of <I>Her2</I> or <I>EGFR,</I> or translocation of <I>ALK</I>. The mTOR-immunopositive group of patients had a lower rate of disease-free survival compared with the mTOR-immunonegative group (p < 0.05). <I>Conclusions:</I> Leptin may collaborate with MUC2 and MUC5AC in mucin-producing carcinogenesis in an mTOR-, STAT3- and ERK-dependent manner. STAT3 may be activated early during tumorigenesis. <I>MUC2</I> and <I>mTOR</I> (but not c<I>-kit</I>, <I>Her2</I>, <I>EGFR </I>and <I>ALK</I>) may represent targets for molecular therapy in pseudomyxoma peritonei and appendiceal mucinous adenocarcinoma, respectively.</P><P>Copyright © 2012 S.       • First-trimester screening model for fetal growth restriction using maternal clinical characteristics, serum screening marker, and placental volume

        Objective: To demonstrate the prediction potential value of first-trimester placental volume and maternal clinical characteristics, and serum screening biomarker for fetal growth restriction (FGR) in singleton pregnancy. Methods: Between November 2016 and May 2018, this was a prospective case-control study of pregnancies which enrolled at Bundang CHA medical center. There were 268 pregnancies without FGR and 83 pregnancies with FGR. Maternal serum pregnancy-associated plasma protein A (PAPP-A) and estimated placental volume were determined at 10+0 to 13+0 weeks and we reviewed ultrasound findings which were enrolled. We measured the width, height, and thickness of the placenta and calculated the placental volume using the established mathematical calculation method. We evaluated the associations with FGR in the first trimester based on estimated placental volume (EPV), maternal clinical characteristics and serum biomarkers by using multiple logistic regression analysis. Results: We found that the mean placental volume was not significantly different (295.25g without FGR and 328.05g with FGR, p-value: 0.9531) between two groups. However, the PAPP-A MoM showed lower level in the women with FGR than women without FGR (0.81[0.18-2.18], 1.03 [0.17-3.01] p-value: 0.0062, respectively). The prediction model of FGR using combined EPV, maternal age, history of smoking and PAPP-A was achieving an area under the curve of 0.67 overall. Conclusion: A risk prediction of FGR model with maternal clinical characteristics, PAPP-A and EPVcan be adopted for the first-trimester screening of FGR in singleton pregnancy.

        수중 음향 통신에서 다중 밴드 전송 기법의 성능 분석

        다중 밴드 통신 기법은 채널 전달 특성 등 환경이 매우 빠르게 변하는 수중 음향통신 환경에서 동일 데이터를 서로 다른 주파수 밴드에 할당하여 선택적 페이딩을 극복할 수 있어 성능이나 전송 효율 측면에서 효과적이며, 다양한 수중 채널 환경을 극복하면서 전송 거리를 더욱 확장할 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 수중 음향 통신에서 다중 밴드 전송 기법의 효율성 분석을 위해 부호화율 1/3을 갖는 Turbo pi부호를 이용하여 다중 밴드의 개수를 1~5개까지 적용하였으며 시뮬레이션을 통해 성능을 분석하였다. 시뮬레이션 결과 수신 SNR을 기준으로 밴드 수의 증가 시 성능이 우수함을 알 수 있다. The multiband communication technique is effective in terms of performance and throughput efficiency because it can overcome selective frequency fading by allocating the same data to different frequency bands in the environment of rapidly changing channel transfer characteristic. In addition, the transmission distance can be further extended while overcoming various underwater channel environments. In this paper, we analyzed the performance of multiband transmission technique in underwater communication by increasing number of band using Turbo pi code with a coding rate of 1/3. Simulation results shows that the performance is improved when the number of bands is increased based on the received SNR.

        A Case of Lead Poisoning due to a Mixture of Talisman Ash

        Background: Lead is a metal that has no biological function useful for the human body. In Korea, non-occupational exposure to lead has mostly occurred through taking oriental medicine. However, in this paper we report a case of lead poisoning caused by ingesting talisman material. Case presentation: A 16-year-old male patient complained of severe abdominal pain after taking cinnabar, a talisman material. He was diagnosed with lead poisoning accompanied by acute hepatitis. We confirmed that the cinnabar the patient took contained about 10% elemental lead. After symptom management, the patients’ symptoms, liver function test results, and blood lead concentration level improved. Conclusion: Lead poisoning can be accompanied by hepatitis, although rarely. As we have confirmed that cinnabar as a talisman material is harmful to the human body, measures to prevent its misuse are needed.

        Circulating renalase predicts all-cause mortality and renal outcomes in patients with advanced chronic kidney disease

        Background/Aims: Patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD) have been found to show markedly increased rates of end-stage renal disease, major adverse cardiovascular and cerebrovascular events (MACCEs), and mortality. Therefore, new biomarkers are required for the early detection of such clinical outcomes in patients with CKD. We aimed to determine whether the level of circulating renalase was associated with CKD progression, MACCEs, and all-cause mortality, using data from a prospective randomized controlled study, Kremezin STudy Against Renal disease progression in Korea (K-STAR; NCT 00860431). Methods: A retrospective analysis of the K-STAR data was performed including 383 patients with CKD (mean age, 56.4 years; male/female, 252/131). We measured circulating renalase levels and examined the effects of these levels on clinical outcomes. Results: The mean level of serum renalase was 75.8 ± 34.8 μg/mL. In the multivariable analysis, lower hemoglobin levels, higher serum creatinine levels, and diabetes mellitus were significantly associated with a higher renalase levels. Over the course of a mean follow-up period of 56 months, 25 deaths and 61 MACCEs occurred. Among 322 patients in whom these outcomes were assessed, 137 adverse renal outcomes occurred after a mean follow-up period of 27.8 months. Each 10- μg/mL increase in serum renalase was associated with significantly greater hazards of all-cause mortality and adverse renal outcomes (hazard ratio [HR] = 1.112, p = 0.049; HR = 1.052, p = 0.045). However, serum renalase level was not associated with the rate of MACCEs in patients with CKD. Conclusions: Our results indicated that circulating renalase might be a predictor of mortality and adverse renal outcomes in patients with CKD.
