        소크라테스의 대화술이 교육 내용의 개념에 주는 시사점

        The purpose of this study is to clarify the difference and relation between information and knowledge in the light of Socratic conversation, and bring out its implications on the concept of educational content. The clarification is expected to examine the concept of knowledge as educational content. Socratic questions make possible for the counterparts to perceive and resolve the contradictions of their arguments, to make interpretations of it in alternative ways, and apply them in the appropriate contexts. The Socratic conversation conducted with proper questions and anwsers, make the ‘upper’ mind, that is, ‘the true self’ influence on the ‘lower’ mind of the counterpart who participates in it. It is not only the method to acquire knowledge but to form the good attitudes as well. The good attitudes refer to the cooperation with others and mutual trust in joining the conversation. Plato’s dialectic, the origin of which is the Socratic conversation, is not just a technique of learning. It also refers to the mind on which the ‘true self’ has been influencing. Therefore, Plato’s dialectic is itself the knowledge which has been forming the integrated ability. Idea of the Good is to be interpreted as the source of the ‘true self’. A teacher, sharing the ‘true self’ of a learner, helps to form the integrated ability of his or her counterpart. In light of Socratic conversation, educational content is to be considered as the integrated ability in virtue of obtaining the ‘true self’. 본 논문의 목적은 소크라테스의 대화술에 비추어 정보와 지식의 차이와 관련을 규명함으로써 교육 내용의 성격을 밝히는 것에 있다. 소크라테스의 대화술에 비추어 보면 지식은 정보에 들어 있는 모순을 지각하고 그것을 극복하는 과정을 통하여 획득하는 능력, 즉 정보를 해석하고 상황에 맞게 적용할 수 있는 능력을 의미한다. 대화술에 의거하여 정보의 타당성을 검토한다는 것은 ‘참된 자아’를 획득하는 것이다. 이 과정을 통하여 대화에 참여하는 학습자는 정보에 들어 있는 모순을 지각하고 극복하며, 정보를 적절한 맥락에서 활용할 수 있는 능력을 획득한다. ‘참된 자아’의 원천은 선의 이데아이다. 선의 이데아는 지식의 대상들에 진리를 부여하고 인식의 주체에게 인식의 힘을 준다. 참된 자아를 획득하는 것은 상호 협력, 상대방에 대한 신뢰와 배려 등의 태도를 표현하는 것과 동전의 양면을 이룬다. 이 점에 비추어 보면 대화술은 훌륭한 마음의 표현을 가능케 한다. 대화술을 모태로한 플라톤 변증법 역시 ‘의견’에 영향을 미치는 ‘참된 자아’, 그리고 지식을 추구하는 사람의 생활 방식 전체를 가능케 하는 훌륭한 마음을 포함한다. 소크라테스의 대화술에 비추어 보면 교육 내용은 정보들의 체계가 아니라 정보들을 해석, 적용할 수 있는 능력, 그리고 그와 일관된 훌륭한 태도가 통합된 능력으로 해석될 수 있다.

        다문화가족의 영유아 자녀 양육에 대한 가족 역학 탐색

        Purpose: This study aimed to investigate the family dynamics affecting parenting by exploring the experiences related to caring of married immigrant women and Korean husbands in multicultural families with young children. Methods: The data were collected through focus group interviews with 10 married immigrant women and 10 Korean husbands. The interviews were conducted from October 24, 2016, to April 30, 2017. The transcribed data were analyzed using qualitative content analysis. Results: Based on an analysis of the dynamics of the factors influencing family relationships in multicultural families with young children, four categories and eight subcategories were derived from the role transition to parents of multicultural families and the establishment of norms for parenting children in multicultural families. Conclusion: Multicultural families experience conflicts regarding raising children due to differences in their culture and norms. Additionally, due to the unequal status at the beginning of the family formation, the performance and authority for child rearing are inconsistent, leading to increased confusion and conflict. To adjust and negotiate the family's status, norms, and roles, efforts to communicate and mutual understanding within the family are paramount. Therefore, family nursing intervention should be applied to couples to train the husband and wife's role recognition and conflict coping strategies to support parenting in multicultural families.

        Inhibition of Histone Deacetylase Activity Diminishes Pressure Overloaded Cardiac Hypertrophy in Mice

        To explore the role of histone deactylase (HDAC) activation in an in vivo model of hypertrophy, we studied the effects of Trichostatin A (TSA). TSA subjected to thoracic aortic banding (TAB)-induced pressure stress in mice. In histological observations, TAB in treated mice showed a significant hypertrophic response, whereas the sham operation remained nearly normal structure with partially blunted hypertrophy. TSA treatment had no effect (measured as HW/BW) on sham-operated animals. TAB animals treated with vehicle manifested a robust ~50% hypertrophic response (p<0.05 vs sham). TAB mice treated with 2 mg/kg/day TSA manifested a blunted growth responses, which was significantly diminished (p<0.05) compared with vehicle-treated TAB mice. TAB mice treated with a lower dose of TSA (0.5 mg/kg/day) manifested a similar blunting of hypertrophic growth (~25% increase in heart mass). Furthermore,to determine activity duration of TSA in vitro, 1 nM TSA was added to H9c2 cells. Histone acetylation was initiated at 4 hr after treatment, and it was peak up to 18 hr, then followed by significantly reduced to 30 hr. We also analyzed the expression of p53 following TSA treatment, wherein p53 expression was elevated at 4 hr, and it was maintained to 24 hr after treatment. ERK was activated at 8 hr, and maintained till 30 hr after treatment suggesting an intracellular signaling interaction between TSA and p53 expression. Taken together, it is suggested that HDAC activation is required for pressure-overload growth of the heart. Eventually, these data suggest that histone acetylation may be a novel target for therapeutic intervention in pressure-overloaded cardiac hypertrophy.

        Colistin resistance in Enterobacter spp. isolates in Korea

        We investigated the colistin resistance rate among 356 Enterobacter spp. clinical isolates from eight hospitals in Korea. Antibiotic susceptibility testing was performed by broth microdilution. While 51 of 213 (23.9%) Enterobacter cloacae isolates were colistin-resistant, only six of 143 (4.2%) E. aerogenes isolates showed resistance. We also identified the skip well phenotype in eight E. cloacae and three E. aerogenes isolates. Multilocus sequence typing for E. cloacae and randomly amplified polymorphic DNA analysis and enterobacterial repetitive intergenic consensus PCR for E. aerogenes revealed that clonal spreading of colistin-resistant and skip well Enterobacter spp. isolates had not occurred. In vitro time-kill assays were performed with three colistin-resistant, three skip well, and two colistin-susceptible isolates of E. cloacae and E. aerogenes. Inconsistent results were observed among isolates with skip well phenotypes; while some were eradicated by 2 mg/L colistin, others were not. This suggests that skip well isolates have differentiated into different categories. As the high rates of colistin resistance in E. cloacae detected are of clinical concern, continuous monitoring is warranted. In addition, the clinical implications and mechanisms of the skip well phenotype should be investigated to ensure the appropriate use of colistin against Enterobacter infections.

        교육 내용과 선(善)의 관계: ‘테크네’의 개념을 중심으로

        The purpose of this study is to clarify the relation between educational contents and the good by considering on the concept of ‘Techne’. The Greek sense of Techne is the profession based on special knowledge, which is the mastery over the good of the objects on which the Techne is applied. However, the particular Techne lacking in the good of the soul, that is, the universal good, has the original limitation. Plato’s dialectic of which the question has the core role, is for acquiring of the nature of the Good, that is, the universal one. Plato’s dialectic represents the process of possessing the knowledge of the Good through the proper questions. Socratic questions are the model of the proper ones, making the questioner emerge and revealing the objects of the questions. The questioner is able to attain the knowledge of the Good, which is the combination of the subject and object of knowledge. The acquiring of the knowledge of the Good is the attainment of the human nature which is trying to conform itself to the Good. Therefore Plato’s dialectic is to be named the Techne realizing the good of the soul. The particular techne is able to have the value which deserves the educational contents, only if it is allied with the Socratic question. 본 논문의 목적은 ‘테크네’(techne)의 개념에 관한 고찰을 통하여 교육 내용과 선의 관계를 밝히는 것에 있다. ‘테크네’는 고대 그리스인들에게 특수한 지식에 토대를 둔 전문 분야를 의미한다. 또한 특정한 테크네에는 그것이 적용되는 대상의 선에 관한 지식이 들어 있다. 그러나 특정한 테크네는 보편적 선 또는 영혼의 선을 발휘하는 테크네를 알지 못한다는 근원적인 한계를 가지고 있다. 소크라테스의 질문을 핵심으로 하는 플라톤 변증법은 보편적 선의 본성을 파악하기 위한 것으로서 올바른 질문을 통하여 ‘선에 관한 지식’을 획득하는 과정이다. 올바른 질문의 모범은 소크라테스의 질문에서 찾을수 있는데 그것은 질문자를 출현시키고 질문의 대상을 드러냄으로써 질문에 대한 답을 발견할 수 있도록 한다. 이러한 질문과 답의 과정을 통하여 질문자는 지식의 주체와 대상의 결합체인 ‘선에 관한 지식’을 획득할 수 있다. 선에 관한 지식의 획득은 지식의 주체와 대상이 결합된 인간 본성, 선에 자신을 부합시키는 인간 본성의 획득을 의미한다. 그러므로 변증법은 영혼의 선을 실현하는 테크네이다. 특정한 테크네는 영혼의 선을 실현하는 변증법과 결합될 때만 그 도구성을 벗어나 교육 내용의 가치를 얻게 된다.
