Purpose: The Hedgehog (Hh) signaling pathway is important in embryonic development including cell differentiation and proliferation. Recently, activation of this pathway has been implicated in several forms of solid cancers. We investigated sonic hedgehog (Shh) protein expression and its relation to differentiation and clinicopathologic characteristics in thyroid cancer cell lines and tissues. Methods: We used five thyroid cancer cell lines: TPC-1, FTC-133, FTC-236, FTC-238, and XTC-1. We made tissue microarray slides using 80 thyroid surgical specimen: 40 benign and 40 malignant lesions. Immunohistochemical staining was performed using anti-Shh antibody. mRNA expression of NIS, thyroglobulin, and CD97 were evaluated by RT-PCR. Cyclopamine was used as a Shh signal inhibitor. Results: Shh expression was more prominent in TPC-1, FTC-133, and XTC-1 cell lines than the others. Cyclopamine downregulated CD97 and upregulated thyroglobulin mRNA expression, but did not induce mRNA expression of NIS. Thyroid tissues showed varied expression of Shh in both benign and malignant diseases. Shh expression was detected in 38 of 50 (76%) normal, in 18 of 25 (72%) non-neoplastic benign, in nine of 15 (60%) benign tumors, and in 31 of 40 (77%) malignant tumors. Shh over-expression was significantly less frequent in papillary thyroid carcinomas than in normal or benign thyroid tissues. In addition, Shh protein expression did not relate to clinicopathologic characteristics in papillary thyroid carcinomas. Conclusion: Thyroid tissues and cell lines vary in expression of Shh. Cyclopamine can induce redifferentiation in thyroid cancer cell lines. Shh protein expression, however, is unrelated to clinicopathologic characteristics in papillary thyroid carcinomas. 허리둘레 변화 감지기를 이용한 복부수축이 보건의료 종사자의 몸통 근지구력과 자세조절에 미치는 효과

Purpose: This study identified the effect of abdominal muscle contraction using changes in waist circumference for healthcare workers with back pain due to inadequate posture during working hours. Methods: In this study, we provided educational training focused on posture alignment and utilized waist circumference change sensors to induce the contraction of abdominal muscles as a method to address low back pain in healthcare workers. All 32 participants received the same training and then were assigned to two groups: wearing the keeping core band (CB) and not wearing the keeping core band (NCB). For the CB group, the waist circumference change sensor was applied for 6 weeks during working hours. Wilcoxon’s signed-ranks test and paired t-tests were used to compare the differences between the groups. All statistical significance levels were set to ɑ=0.05. Results: Trunk muscle endurance increased significantly in the CB group. There was no significant difference in stability index to evaluate static postural control, but active hip abduction tests, which evaluate dynamic postural control, showed significant decrease in the CB group. Conclusion: These results suggest that the induction of abdominal contraction using the waist circumference change sensor may improve the trunk muscle endurance and the postural control ability of the hip and pelvis of healthcare workers.

With recent trends of the vehicle company reducing the number of making prototype and reliability test to reduce vehicle developing cost and time, VPG (Virtual Proving Ground) is a very useful and effective method to evaluate the vehicle performances such as Ride & Handling, NVH and durability in the concept design stage without vehicle prototype. This paper proposes the prediction method of the fatigue load changing with respect to the vehicle design variables such as body mass and inertia, ride height, wheel tread/base and tire aspect ratio/size using a VPG correlated with wheel input load of test results. This study also presents an application example of the developing vehicle shared same platform with base model without real vehicle prototype test using these parameter studies.

The major objective of this study is to proposal of measuring method and design for the testing curved railway in which the tilting train runs. In order to the speed-up of conventional lines that have many curve lines, there needs a improvement construction of substructure such as the straight or double track work and so on. But in this case, it needs to have a plenty of the cost and the period. Therefore, the tilting train which provides the high-speed service effectively in curve tracks was developed. Besides, the efficiency prediction and the linear synthesis of the existing conventional line for a tiling train service were examined on the preceding studies. So, in this paper we propose the measuring plan and the design of the improvement sections in the testing curved track which was decided as a results of material analysis and field research concerning the extension possibility of transition curves and the bearing of track due to the new developed train traveling. And we look forward to playing a decisive role as reference data on the improvement construction project for the commercial service of the tilting train.
