Vol.22 No.2
The amount of multimedia traffic is increasing exponentially due to the development of over-the-top media services(OTT). In order to efficiently transmit multimedia traffic, it is very important to effectively set up a multicast routing tree that determines the route from one sender to multiple receivers. In this paper, we propose an efficient multicast routing tree generation method using PEARL, one of the meta-RL models, considering the variable network environment. Meta-RL is a technique that can learn various tasks and is suitable for variable network environments, and PEARL is a context-based meta-RL technique with high sample efficiency compared to conventional meta-RL. To measure the performance of the proposed method in a variable network environment, we experimented with random, 30%, 50% and 70% link distributions. The experimental results show that the performance of the model trained by the proposed method is 1.184, which can generate a near-optimal multicast routing tree.

The Sample Cohort DB supplied by the National Health Insurance Service is a valuable resource for statistical studies as well as for health and medical studies. It takes significant time and effort to extract data from this Cohort DB having a large size. As such, we introduce a database system, conveniently called the National Health Insurance Service Cohort DB Extract Tool (NICE Tool), which supports several useful operations for effectively and efficiently managing the Cohort DB. For example, researchers can extract variables and cases related with study by simply clicking a computer mouse without any prior knowledge regarding SAS DATA step or SQL. We expect that NICE Tool will facilitate the faster extraction of data and eventually lead to the active use of the Cohort DB for research purposes.

With the steady growth of the content industry, the need for research that automatically recommending content suitable for individual tastes is increasing. In order to improve the accuracy of automatic content recommendation, it is needed to fuse existing recommendation techniques using users' preference history for contents along with recommendation techniques using content metadata or features extracted from the content itself. In this work, we propose a new graph-based music recommendation method which learns an LSTM-based classification model to automatically extract appropriate tagging words from sound data and apply the extracted tagging words together with the users’ preferred music lists and music metadata to graph-based music recommendation. Experimental results show that the proposed method outperforms existing recommendation methods in terms of the recommendation accuracy.
