Taxonomic Notes on the Species of Hemerobiidae (Neuroptera) of Korea

Micromus variegatus (풀잠자리목: 뱀잠자리붙이과)를 국내 미기록종으로 보고한다. 이와 함께 국외에 채집기록만 보고된 Hemerobius harmandinus, Sympherobius tessellatus 및 S. domesticus, 에 대한 간략한 기재, 성충 및 날개의 사진, 그리고 국명을 제시한다. 이로써 과거 보고된 4종과 함께 국내 뱀잠자리붙이과는 모두 8종으로 기록된다. Micromus variegatus (Neuroptera: Hemerobiidae) is reported here as new to South Korea. In addition, three other hemerobiid species recorded only the collection data, Hemerobius harmandinus, Sympherobius tessellatus and S. domesticus are also reported with a brief description, images of the adult and wings, and its Korean common name. With four previously reported species in Korea, there are eight species of the family Hemerobiidae from Korea.

High Level Production of human Protein Tyrosine Kinase-6 in Insect Cells Using Drosophila Peptidoglycan Recognition Protein-LB as a fusion protein

단백질 티로신 kinase인 PTK6는 대부분의 유방암에서 과발현되며, 암세포의 증식만을 촉진하는데 역할을 한다. 이 연구에서 PTK6의 활성도메인을 초파리의 peptidoglycan recognition protein (PGRP) -LB 단백질을 퓨전파트너로 사용하여 바큘로바이러스 시스템을에서 과발현하는데 성공하였다. 우리는 PGRP-LB가 바큘로바이러스 시스템에서 잠재적으로 퓨전 단백질로 사용될 수 있는 가능성을 처음으로 발견하였다. 정제된 PTK6단백질은 기존의 박테리아에서 발현된 단백질보다 1.5배 높은 활성을 지녔다. 이 단백질은 PTK6의 분자기전 및 그것의 저해제 개발에 필수적인 결정 구조를 규명하는데 사용될 것이다. PTK6, an intracellular protein tyrosine kinase, is significantly overexpressed in a majority of breast cancers and has a role in promoting the proliferation of the cancer cells, but not of normal cells. Here, we report high-level production of the catalytic unit of PTK6 fused with Drosophila peptidoglycan recognition protein (PGRT)-LB, in the baculovirus system. We first found that the PGRP-LB was potentially useful as a fusion partner to increase the yield of heterologous protein in the baculovirus system. The purified recombinant protein exhibited a 1.5-fold activity with much higher yield than the bacterially-expressed protein. The protein expressed in the baculovirus system will be useful for the crystallization to determine its crystal structure helping understand the molecular mechanism of PTK6 and design its inhibitors.

군부대 내 부적응 병사에서 충동성과 혈청 지질과의 상관성

Objective : Previous studies reported a correlation between the low serum cholesterol level and impulsive behaviors. In this study, we investigate an association between the serum lipid levels and psychological parameters in maladaptive soldiers in the Korean Army. Methods : A total of ninety-six maladaptive subjects and thirty-six normal controls in the Korean army were evaluated with the Korean version of Barratt Impulsiveness Scale (K-BIS), Korean version of Beck Suicidal Ideation Scale (K- BSIS), Korean version of Beck Depression Inventory (K-BDI) and Korean version of Beck Anxiety Inventory (K-BAI). Serum total cholesterol (TC), triglyceride (TG), low density lipoprotein (LDL) and high density lipoprotein (HDL) level were measured by overnight fasting blood sampling. Results : There were no significant differences between the groups in demographic characteristics. Serum total cholesterol levels (t=-2.209, p=0.032), triglyceride levels (t=-4.593, p<0.001), and LDL levels (t=-3.753, p=0.001) of maladaptive subjects were significantly lower than those of normal controls, and maladaptive subjects had higher K-BIS scores than normal controls (t=7.542, p<0.001). Negative correlation was found between LDL levels and non-planning impulsiveness in the maladaptive subjects (r=-0.253, p=0.013). LDL levels (${\beta}=-0.258$, p=0.008) and K-BDI scores (${\beta}=0.266$, p=0.043) emerged as significant predictors for non-planning impulsiveness. Conclusion : These results suggested that LDL level was associated with non-planning impulsiveness. These findings suggested that serum cholesterol levels might be available as a biological marker of impulsiveness. However, more large samples, longitudinal biological study and psychiatric evaluations should be needed to develop a preventive intervention for maladaptive male conscripts in the Korean army.

Detection of Absolute Position for Magneto-Optical Encoder Using Linear Table Compensation

This paper presents the development of a magneto-optical encoder for higher precision and smaller size. In general, optical encoders can have very high precision based on the position information of the slate, while their sizes tend to be larger due to the presence of complex and large components, such as an optical module. In contrast, magnetic encoders have exactly the opposite characteristics, i.e., small size and low precision. In order to achieve encoder features encompassing the advantages of both optical and magnetic encoders, i.e., high precision and small size, we designed a magneto-optical encoder and developed a method to detect absolute position, by compensating for the error of the hall sensor using the linear table compensation method. The performance of the magneto-optical encoder was evaluated through an experimental testbed.

의사가 그리는 건강 상식 만화

건강 상식과 우스갯소리를 섞어서 그린 만화를 재미있게 본 사람은 건강 상식을 한 번 더 생각하면서 따르게 된다. 교신저자는 의사로서 건강 상식을 담은 4칸 만화(제목: 몸 지킬 박사)를 그렸고, 이것을 중앙일간지에 27편 연재하였다. 이 연구의 목적은 교신저자의 경험을 낱낱이 알려서, 다른 전문가도 자기 분야의 상식을 만화로 알리는 데 도움 주는 것이었다. 그림을 그리기에 앞서 글을 썼으며, 글을 쓰는 원칙은 다음과 같았다. 첫째, 실제로 따를 만한 건강 상식을 담아서 만화를 이롭게 만들었다. 둘째, 건강 상식을 논리적으로 풀이해서 만화를 쉽게 만들었다. 셋째, 건강상식과 관련된 우스갯소리를 담아서 만화를 재미있게 만들었다. 교신저자가 겪은 바에 따르면, 전문가가 직접 그리는 것에 장점이 있었다. 전문 지식이 있으면 만화를 잘 그릴 수 있다는 생각을 가지고, 다른 분야(법률, 건축 등)의 전문가도 만화를 그리기 바란다. Through the humorous comic strips which contain beneficial health information, people are able to accept the information willingly. The corresponding author as a medical doctor has elaborated four-frame comic strips including the health information and published 27 episodes in the major domestic newspaper. The aim of this research informing the author’s experiences was to help other experts distribute their knowledge through the comics. For the comic strips, writing was succeeded by drawing. Writing was done as follows: First, the useful and followable health information was introduced to make the comic strips beneficial. Second, the information was logically explained to make the comic strips easy. Third, the information was mixed with joke to make the comic strips funny. As far as the author experienced, it was advantageous for the experts to draw comics by themselves. If ones have expertise in their fields such as law, architecture, they can be confident of drawing good comics.

인터넷상 아동,청소년 이용 음란물 소지의 개념에 관한 검토 -미국과의 비교를 중심으로-

최근 아동 및 청소년을 대상으로 하는 잔혹하고 극단적인 형태의 성범죄가 연이어 보도되면서 이러한 유형의 범죄에 대한 처벌 강화가 사회적 쟁점으로 떠오르고 있다. 이러한 사회적 분위기에 따라 「아동청소년의 성보호에 관한 법률」은 아동음란물에 대한 단순소지를 처벌하는 규정을 신설하였다. 그리고 2012년에 들어 검찰과 경찰은 아동 음란물 단순 소지자에 대한 실질적 단속을 벌여 일부를 기소하기 시작하였다. 이와 관련하여 아동 음란물의 소지 자체를 처벌하는 것은 과잉 제재라는 반대론이 있으나 대상 아동에 대한 피해를 지속시키고, 비정상적이고 왜곡된 성적 문화에 잠재적인 피해자를 노출시킬 위험이 있는 아동 음란물의 소지는 형사법적 규제의 필요성이 있다고 생각된다. 한편, 수사기관이 밝히고 있는 인터넷상 아동음란물 소지의 단속 기준 모호하다는 문제가 계속해서 제기되고 있다. 특히 문제되는 것은 ‘소지’의 개념으로 사실상 아동음란물의 유통 경로가 인터넷이라는 점을 고려하면 유체물을 대상으로 하는 소지의 개념을 보충하는 해석이 필요하다. 따라서 인터넷 상의 소지는 관련 파일에 대한 관리 및 지배 가능성 즉, 복사, 저장, 유포의 가능성을 내포한다고 보아야 할 것이다. 최근 미국의 판례와 이론은 캐시 시스템에 의한 인터넷 임시 파일의 경우에도 소지의 개념에 포함시킬 수 있을 것인지를 검토하여 왔다. 미국과 같이 우리 나라도 소지 외에 아동 음란물 관람을 위한 의도적인 접근 행위를 행위태양으로 추가하고, 캐시 메모리는 이를 입증하는 증거로 삼는 방법을 고려할 필요가 있다고 생각한다. 결국 아동음란물의 단순 소지죄에 대한 법적 규제의 시행 초기 단계에 있는 우리나라는 앞으로 급속히 변화하는 인터넷 환경에 걸맞는 법률 규정의 정비, 이에 대한 해석론의 발전, 관련 판례의 누적이 함께 뒷받침 되어야 할 것이다. As the recent media have reported vicious and extreme sexual crimes against children and juveniles consecutively, toughening up penalties for such types of crimes have become a social issue. In light of such critical social atmosphere, the legislative branch amended the Act on the Protection of Children and Juveniles from Sexual Abuse and newly introduced regulation to punish simple possession of child pornography. In 2012, the prosecutors and the police started to crackdown on those who simply possess child pornography according to the amended law. Although some find that criminalizing possession itself is overly excessive, the possession of child pornography not only perpetually causes harm to the young victims, but also dangerously exposes potential victims to an unconventional, distorted sexual culture. Thus, criminal regulation on possession of child pornography is timely and necessary. An issue of ambiguity of the crackdown standard which was presented by the investigative authority has been continuously raised. The most controversial issue is the concept of ``possession``. Considering the main route for child pornography distribution is the Internet, the concept of ``possession``, a term used for material objects needs supplementary interpretation to fit the new online context. Therefore ``possession`` should be understood in both ways, literal and practical. That is to say, possession on internet can be interpreted as the possibility of management of those files such as copying, saving, and circulating. Recent U.S. jurisprudence has shed some light on the issue whether temporary internet files through the cache system can be interpreted as ``possession``. Like the U.S. law, Korea should add deliberate approach for viewing of child pornography as another action in addition to possession, and cache memory should be used as to prove such criminal act. In the end, Korea is at the early stages of legal regulations for child pornography, so we have to make efforts to organize relevant rules, develop relevant interpretations and accumulate relevant precedents to catch up with the rapidly changing internet environment.

조선 숙종대 궁부일체론(宮府一體論)과 군신관계

In the paper the author intends to examine the argumentation on Goongbuilcheron(宮府一體論) in the time of King Sukjong and identify the meaning of the characteristics of Goongbuilcheron in the time. Goongbuilcheron argues that Gung and Bu must be united, emphasizing the territory of Gung must not the private territory of the king which exists independently beside the law. Goongbuilcheron in the time of King Sukjong was supported by both the king and vassals, implying Goongbuilcheron became an effective logic to the extent that Goongbuilcheron was accommodated and implemented by the king. Vassals pursued a unity between Gung and Bu, and encouraged the king to be the king from the perspective of Confucianism. On the other hand, the king supported Goongbuilcheron and responded to vassals’ criticism against ‘personal affairs’ and pursue the publicness dependent of powerful authority. Vassals praised the decision of the king towards Goongbuilcheron, considering it would serve as a momentum to realize their ideals.

비버챌린지 2021 도전하기 응시 결과 분석 및 시사점 도출

비버 챌린지는 정보교육 동기를 유발하고 컴퓨팅 사고력을 평가하기 위해 개발된 문제해결 중심의 평가 모델이며, 교육운동이다. 한국 비버 챌린지 위원회는 2016년 시범 참가를 시작으로 2021년까지 학생들의 컴퓨팅 사고력 신장과 공교육 지원을 목표로 비버 챌린지 서비스를 운영하고 있다. 2021년에는 58,882명이 참여했으며, 각 그룹 별 참여 결과를 바탕으로 시사점을 도출하였다. 본 연구의 결과가 정보교육의 문화를 확산시키기고 초, 중, 고에 이르는 체계적인 정보과 교육과정을 바탕으로 학생들의 컴퓨팅 사고력을 길러 주기 위한 기초 연구가 되기를 기대한다.

The liver is the most common site of metastasis of neuroendocrine tumors (NETs). Gastroenteropancreatic (GEP)-NETs are rare, and the distinction between hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) and metastatic NET can be difficult due to the similarity of their histological characteristics. Herein, we report a case of GEP-NET with hepatic metastasis, which was first misdiagnosed as HCC by liver biopsy and subsequently re-diagnosed after surgery as primary GEP-NET. 고속철도 변전소 피크부하 저감용 ESS 용량 산정 및 경제성 분석

The paper proposed a sizing method of an energy storage system(ESS) for peak shaving of high-speed railway substations based on load profile patterns of substations. A lithium based battery ESS was selected since it can produce high-power at high speed that peak shaving requires, and also takes up a relatively smaller space for installation. Adequate size of the ESS, minimum capacity which can technically meet a peak shaving target, was determined by collectively considering load patterns of a target substation, characteristics of the ESS to be installed, and optimal scheduling of the ESS. In case study, a local substation was considered to demonstrate the proposed sizing method. Also economic analysis with the determined size of ESS was performed to calculate electricity cost savings of the peak shaving ESS, and to offer pay-back period and return on investment.
