Objectives The purpose of this study was to survey changes in symptoms caused by Sasang medicines. Methods We recruited 45 subjects who were classified 15 typical Soeumin, Soyangin, Taeumin and did a survey about symptoms. We split Soeumin into 3 groups and prescribed medicines Palmulgunja-tang, Yanggyuksanhwa-tang, Taeumjowi-tang. We did same process in Soyangin and Taeumin. After taking medicines for 4 weeks, we did a survey about physical changes. Results There was no consistent changes in symptoms. But medicines which were not suitable to their Sasang constitution induced known reactions. And medicines which were suitable to their Sasang constitution induced reactions. Conclusions Changes in symptoms appeared after taking medicine, but they can be induced by medicine.

Objectives The purpose of this study was to find correlation between food IgG serum and food classification for Sasangin match. Methods We recruited 10 Soeumin, 10 Soyangin, 10 Taeumin. We did a survey about food intake and obtained their blood samples. We detected IgG antigen reaction of 66 different foods using IgG exclusive Microarray assay. Results We found that IgG value of foods were correlated with Sasangin. Pork, shrimp and black tea has showed significant differences by constitution. The IgG response of the food according to the constitution and frequency of intake was found to be significantly correlated with those of banana, chestnut, citrus, milk, mushroom, cucumber, barley, corn, pineapple, honey and abalone. Conclusions The result of this study was partially matched to food classification for Sasangin.

Objectives The purpose of this study was to report a case of nodules on lower extremities with pain which was treated by herbal medicine treatment and acupuncture.Methods One male patient who had nodules on lower extremities with pain was treated by Yangdokbaekho-tang and Hyungbangsabak-san, and acupuncture according to the result of Sasang constitutional diagnosis.Results and Conclusions The patient's pain and accompanied symptoms were improved after using Yangdokbaekho-tang and Hyungbangsabak-san. The Numeric Rating Scale(NRS) which was used to evaluate pain intensity was decreased from 9 to 2 without using Western medications.

Objective The purpose of this case study was to report improvements of a Soyangin patient with dysgeusia which a salty taste persisted in the mouth. Methods This patient was identified as Soyangin and treated by Yangkyuksanwha-tang-gamibang, acupuncture and moxa. Patient's symptom was assessed G/A(Global Assessment). Results and Conclusions The symptom of a lasting salty taste in the mouth was improved remarkably after using Korean medicine treatment, especially Yangkyuksanwha-tang-gamibang.

Objectives The purpose of this study is to investigate economic decision-making in accordance with Sasang Constitution through Ultimatum Game. Methods 84 subjects classified as Sasang Constitution played Ultimatum Game in two session which are firstly not facing their opponents(responders) and secondly facing ones. And they were also proposed unfair offers(9:1) in the same two session. Amount of proposal and whether they accept or reject to unfair offers were observed. Results and Conclusions Taeeumin tended to offer more to his/her responder in Ultimatum Game when facing the responder then not. Taeeumin seemed to feel more burnden when he/she was facing the responder while Soyangin or Soeumin didn't.
색각에 대한 사상체질별 반응 차이 연구 - 드레스("The dress") 색깔을 중심으로 -

Objectives The purpose of this study was to investigate the difference in color perception among Sasang Constitution in "The dress" which has been arousing controversy whether its color is blue/black or white/gold. Methods 85 participants classified as Sasang Constitution were asked to answer three questions about "The dress". They were asked firstly the overall colors of the dress, secondly the colors of the specific parts of it, thirdly color ranges they perceived as gold, white, blue, black, respectively. These process were run twice. Results and Conclusions The overall colors of the dress were perceived as blue/black more than white/gold, regardless of Sasang Constitution. And also the ratio between blue/black and white/gold were not significantly different among Sasang Constitution. But when a specific part(spot ii) shown, Soyangin perceived its color as blue more than Taeeumin in the first process. In the case of color range, Soyangin perceived range of black wider than Taeeumin in the second process.
특정 호흡수에서 행한 통제호흡이 심박변이도에 미치는 영향

Objectives We observed what effects of Paced Breathing(PB) in specific respiration rate have on heart rate variability (HRV) according to Sasang Constitution.Methods HRV of 72 healthy participants in sitting position was recorded while they carried out usual breathing, 0.2Hz, 0.1Hz, and 0.05Hz PB each 5 minutes in consecutive order. Five minute of relaxation was permitted between each breathing. Finally, HRV indices were statictically analyzed of 32 participants (SOEUM: 11, SOYANG: 10, TAEEUM: 11) after data out of accord with respiration rate or outliers were excluded.Results and Conclusions According to respiration rates, there was no statistical significance of HRV among Sasang Constitution. Regardless of Sasang Constituion, 0.2Hz PB increased mean heart rate and decreased natural logarithmic low frequency(lnLF) oscillation of HRV without the change of natural logarithmic high frequency(lnHF), while 0.1Hz PB increased lnLF and standard deviation of N-N interval(SDNN), and slightly decreased lnHF without the change of mean heart rate. 0.05 Hz PB also showed the same effect as 0.1Hz PB, but was impracticable.
수은 막전극을 이용한 수용액 중 과염소산이온의 전기화학적 환원

A method for electrochemical degradation of the perchlorate anion ($ClO_4{^-}$) using mercury film electrode has been studied. Electrochemical method has relatively simple pre-treatment. However, electrochemical method should avoid interference from hydrogen evolution at the applied potential to degradation of perchlorate ion, and thus applied electrode should have large hydrogen overvoltage which suppressed the hydrogen evolution at the working reduction potential to prevent hydrogen evolution. In this study, we used mercury film electrode as a working electrode which has a large overvoltage. Ag / AgCl (sat. NaCl) was used as a reference electrode, and platinum was used as a counter electrode. Mercury film electrode was made by cyclic voltammetry (CV) method. The deposition time was decided as 10 minute, and the stability of the mercury electrode in perchlorate solution was confirmed by CV. The reduction potential of perchlorate was checked by using CV method, and decomposition of perchlorate was performed by using chronoamperometric (CA) method. Also, ion chromatography (IC) was used to confirm the degradation rates of perchlorate. 과염소산이온의 전기화학적 분해에 관한 연구가 진행되었다. 전기화학적 방법은 비교적 단순한 전처리 방법으로 가능하다. 하지만 전기화학적 방법은 과염소산이온이 분해되는 전압을 가해주었을 때 수소발생으로 인한 방해가 발생하기 때문에 사용하는 전극의 수소 과전압이 큰 것을 사용하여 수소발생을 줄이는 것이 요구되어 왔다. 본 연구에서는 수소 과전압이 큰 수은박막전극을 작업 전극으로 사용하였다. Ag / AgCl (sat. NaCl) 전극을 기준전극으로 사용하였으며 Pt를 상대전극으로 사용하였다. 수은박막전극은 순환 전압-전류법(Cyclic voltammetry, CV)으로 제작하였는데 과염소산 용액에서의 CV를 고려하여 수은박막전극의 안정성을 위해 10분 동안 전착시켰다. 과염소산이온의 환원전위는 CV 방법에 의해 설정되었고, 분해실험은 시간대 전류법 (Chronoamperometry, CA)로 시행하였다. 과염소산이온의 분해율 확인을 위해 이온 크로마토그래피(Ion chromatography, IC)를 사용하였다.
