This paper described the free vibration characteristics of Optimized H Type (OHT) spacer grids (SG) supporting the PWR fuel rod. The vibration test and the finite element (FE) analysis are performed under the free boundary condition and the clamped at two points (or three points) in the bottom which is the same one as the experimental condition for the dummy rod continuously supported by spacer grids. A modal test is conducted by the impulse excitation method using an impulse hammer and an accelerometer, and the TDAS module of the I-DEAS software is used to acquire and analyze the sensor signals. The softwares related to the FE analysis are the I-DEAS for the geometrical shape modeling and meshing, and the ABAQUS for solving. The fundamental frequency of the OHT SG by experiment under a clamped condition at two points is 175.18 Hz, and shows a bending mode. We think there is no resonance between the fuel rod and the SG because the SG's frequency is higher than that of the fuel rod existing in the range from 30 to 120 Hz. The fundamental frequency of the SG under the free boundary condition is 349.2 Hz showing a bending mode, and the results between the test and the analysis have a good agreement with maximum 7 % in error It is also found that the FE analysis model of the OHT SGs to analyze an impact, a buckling and vibration et al. has been generated with reliability.
Vertification Test and Modal Updating for a Nuclear Fuel Rod with Its Supporting Structure

Pressurized water reactor(PWR) fuel rods. which are continuously supported by a spring system called a spacer grid(SG), are exposed to reactor coolant at a flow velocity of up to 6-8 m/s. It is known that the vibration of 3 fuel rod is generated by the coolant flow, a so-called flow-induced-vibration(FIV), and the relative motion induced by the FIV between the fuel rod and the SG can wear away the surface of the fuel rod, which occasionally leads to its fretting failure. It is, therefore, important to understand the vibration characteristics of the fuel rod and reflect that in its design. In this paper, vibration analyses of the fuel rod with two different SGs were performed using both analytical and experimental methods. Updating of the finite element(FE) model using the measured data was performed in order to enhance confidence in the FE model of fuel rods supported by an SG. It was found that the modal parameters are very sensitive to the spring constant of the SG.

조명은 인공광원의 개발에 따라 단순히 어둠을 밝히는 의미에서 그 범위를 확대하여 인테리어 디자인(interior design)분야에서 공간의 미적효과를 새롭게 창출하는데 중요한 요소 중 하나로 꼽히고 있다. 그러나 조명의 커버재료의 다양성이나 커버 디자인에 있어서는 선진국에 비해 미흡한 실정이다. 이에 따라 조명기구 중 디자인 요소가 가장 많이 들어 있는 스탠드(stand) 형 간접조명등 디자인에 대한 새로운 모색과 전열 기구를 감싸고 있는 획일화 된 커버(cover) 부분을 친환경적 재료인 도자로 새롭게 디자인하여 제시하는데 있다. 또한 도자제의 커버부분에 있어서 자연미를 강조하고 한국적인 이미지를 응용하여 디자인하는데 중점을 두었으며 연결되는 조명장치의 구조 부분을 새롭게 제시하는데 있다. 그리하여 커버 디자인을 고급화시키므로 서 소비자의 욕구를 보다 적극적으로 수용하는데 기여 할 것이며 도자산업에 고부가가치를 창출할 수 있는 새로운 방향모색과 가능성을 제시할 것으로 기대된다. The illumination has a meaning of making surroundings brighter. Also, the illumination is a piece of equipment designed to decorate interior space. But the cover materials and designs of the lamp are not variously, in comparison with those of advanced nations. Consequently, this research introduces new styles of the indirect ceramic lamp. The soil is used for making covers of lamps to differ from existing similar lamps. Also, designs of traditional Korean image are used in the part of the cover. The structural part of new illuminating system will be introduced as well. The ceramic lamp with high quality will help to develop a new interior product and it will suffice tile demand class who prefers quality goods. With the ceramic covered lamps, the growth of ceramic industrial development will be expected.
