차나무 추출물을 이용한 골프장의 지렁이 샘플링과 종류 조사

Effective sampling method and distribution of earthworms in turfgrasses of golf courses were investigated at 10 Korean golf clubs. Tea tree extract was highly effective in extracting Eisenia andrei compared with mustard oil or formalin. 1000-fold diluent of tea tree extract (4 L/$m^2$) was more effective than 500- and 2000-fold. Sampling efficacy of earthworm increased as soil depth decreased. Additional watering after treatment of tea tree extract did not significantly influence the sampling of earthworms. Eight earthworm species in 4 genera were collected from turfgrasses of 10 golf courses with 4 L of 1000-fold diluent of tea tree extract (15% tea saponin)/$m^2$. Among, dominant earthworm was Amynthas heteropodus and collected 147 individuals from 6 golf clubs. Thirteen Drawida japonica was collected from 3 golf clubs and A. hilgendorfi and A. hupeiensis were collected from 2 golf clubs. A. hupeiensis was not collected with 1000-fold diluent of tea tree extract (15% tea saponin)/$m^2$. 골프장 잔디에서 효과적으로 지렁이를 추출하는 방법과 골프장의 잔디에 서식하는 지렁이의 종류를 알아보기 위하여 연구를 수행한 결과, 차나무추출물이 mustard oil이나 formalin에 비하여 붉은줄지렁이(Eisenia andrei)의 추출에 효과가 있었다. 그리고 차나무추출물 1000배 처리가 (4 L/m2)가 500배와 2000배 처리에 비하여 효과가 높았다. 토양 내 서식 깊이가 얕을수록 추출효과가 높았다. 그러나 차나무추출물 처리 후 추가적인 관수는 추출에 크게 영향을 미치지 않았다. 우리나라 10개 골프장에는 4속 8종의 지렁이가 분포하고 있었다. 그 중 변이성지렁이(Amynthas heteropodus)가 6개 골프장에서 147개체가 채집되어 우점종이었으며 염주위지렁이(Drawida japonica)가 3개 골프장에서 13개체가 채집되었고, 외무늬지렁이(A. hilgendorfi)와 똥지렁이(A. hupeiensis)가 2개 골프장에서 채집되었다. 차나무추출물로는 똥지렁이가 탈출되지 않았다.

경찰드라마는 텔레비전의 도래 이후 가장 유행한 장르 중의 하나로 간주된다. 그것은 많은 나라에서 공통적으로 시청되는 중요한 텔레비전 수출 프로그램의 하나일 뿐만 아니라, 또한 전 세계에 걸쳐 각 나라에서 개별적으로 제작되는 서사형식이라는 점에서 글로벌 장르의 모습을 갖는다. 경찰드라마에 대한 평가는 법과 질서의 지배적인 ‘상식적’ 가치관을 되풀이하는 보수적인 형식이라는 비판과 실제 사회를 보다 밀접하게 반영하는 문화적 광장으로서의 가능성을 담보할 수 있다는 시각이 공존한다. 이런 맥락에서 본 연구는 먼저 경찰드라마의 개념을 살펴보고, 전반적인 텔레비전의 역사의 양상들을 읽어내는 하나의 텍스트이자 네트워크 텔레비전 프로그램 편성 중에서 가장 인기 있는 장르의 하나로 지속적인 인기를 누려온 미국의 경찰드라마의 발전추이를 통해 그 성격을 고찰하였다. 나아가 그것이 한국적 상황에서 갖는 함의를 통해 사회적 리얼리즘의 한 기제로서의 경찰드라마의 가능성을 진단해보고자 하였다. Police and detective fictions have an established history in popular story-telling in all modern forms of narrative expression. They have been a mainstay of television since its early years in many countries in the world. There are two sides in this genre: one is that police series is an inherently conservative form that repeatedly rehearses a dominant ideology of law and order, and another one is that police series embodies the cultural dynamics of television that shows current social and political issues in our society. In this context, this paper tries to examine its characteristics and developments as a genre focusing on police procedural in America. It is found that police procedural in America has evolved over the six decades to both provide a pleasant escape by solving crimes and to mirror the society giving a better look at the world. It is revealed that police genre in all its forms can function as an important site of cultural production for telling about ourselves. Lastly, what these meanings suggest about the Korean police genre in the future is discussed.

This article analyzes Mungtungri (Fathead) of the Chosun Ilbo, Korea’s first four-frame newspaper cartoon strip. In the early 1920s, Korean newspapers functioned in a social atmosphere that demanded a leadership role and a critical take on Japanese imperialism. In the mid-1920s, however, newspapers recognized its function as a commodity and began to pursue commercialization and capitalization. Mungtungri was a representative cultural product of newspapers during such a transition period. It was able to have mass public appeal by providing users with fun and pleasure through stories that could realize modern desires, and by utilizing various visual symbols and verbal expressions. It is clear that the birth of Mungtungri was for the business purpose of expanding sales and profit. Although limited, however, critical remarks about the political reality in the colonial Joseon, and we can read how the consciousness, attitude, and emotion of the Korean people had changed in the process. Therefore, there is the need for a follow-up study on the social implications of Mungtungri beyond simple comics.

한국 신문시사만화의 지형과 전망: 정치성과 풍자성을 중심으로

만화의 태생은 `비판과 주장`이다. 이는 만화가 사회적·정치적 의미를 갖고 출발했음을 뜻한다. 이런 만화의 가장 중요한 표현공간은 신문이었으며, 이는 오늘날 이른바 `시사만화`를 저널리즘의 주요한 축으로 만들어주었다. 정론지의 기능을 담당했던 초창기부터 대중지로 발전한 오늘날에 이르기까지 시사만화는 전 세계 모든 신문에 있어 가장 중요한 기사의 하나로 존재한다. 한국 역시 신문을 통해 시사만화가 자리를 잡고 발전해왔다. 특히 한국은 다른 나라들과는 달리 한 칸 만평뿐만 아니라 강력한 정치성을 지닌 네 칸 만화를 오랫동안 유지하면서 한국만의 독특한 신문 시사연재만화의 특성을 구축해왔다. 이런 맥락에서 본 논문은 저널리즘의 주요한 요소의 하나로 기능해온 한국 신문시사만화의 특성과 변화 추이, 그리고 현실적 지형과 과제에 대해 살펴보고자 하였다. Cartoon has been originated from protest and persuasion, which means that it has played a major role in social and political sector of our society. Such a cartoon type is called as political cartoon or editorial cartoon. Printed media like newspaper have provided an important channel for political cartoon. As a result, editorial cartoons have been one of the essential items from political newspaper to popular newspaper. Editorial cartoons can translate political abstractions into tangible visual representations that neither articles or photographs in newspaper can do. Nowadays it is said that editorial cartoons have been a mainstay of journalism and politics. In general, one-panel cartoon deals with current affairs in society; on the contrary a comic strip has served as an entertainment. Unlike other countries, however, a comic strip as well as editorial cartoon in Korean newspaper has strong political character. Comic strips of Korean newspaper have told about the ordinary people`s lives and spoken for them beyond simple amusement, which the Koreans have read and enjoyed for a long time. This paper aims to explore the characteristics and development of cartoon in Korean newspaper focusing on its political and satirical aspects, examine some points at issue, and suggest some ideas for promoting it.
