We investigated the effect of the butanol fraction from the methanol extract of butterbur (Petasites japonicus Max.) (BMP) on the plasma lipid profiles and oxidative damage of liver in mice challenged with monosodium l-glutamate (MSG). ICR mice (6–8 weeks old, male) were fed BMP (0.1% or 0.3%) for 1 week, and on day 7, MSG (4mg/g) was administered intraperitoneally to the mice. Administration of MSG resulted in a significant decrease of antioxidant biomarkers such as total glutathione level and antioxidant enzyme activities such as glutathione reductase (GR), glutathione peroxidase (GPx), glutathione S-transferase (GST), and quinone reductase (NQO1), whereas the thiobarbituric acid-reactive substances (TBARS) value was increased in liver tissue. However, BMP supplementation markedly enhanced the hepatic antioxidant enzyme activities, including GPx, GR, GST, and NQO1, whereas it lowered TBARS, compared to the MSG-treated group. Moreover, BMP supplementation decreased total cholesterol, atherogenic index, and low-density lipoprotein-cholesterol, compared to the MSG-treated group. Based on these results, it was proposed that BMP improve the plasma lipid profiles and decrease the oxidative stress by up-regulating the hepatic antioxidant enzymes in mice challenged with MSG
Hong Kong H5N1 인플루엔자 바이러스의 면역부전 마우스에 대한 병리발생

Virulent and avirulent H5N1 viruses were inoculated intranasally to BALB/c and immunodeficient mice, and compared the pathogenesis by histology and immunohistochemistry. All of mice infected with virulent virus died by systemic infection at 6 to 7 days postinfection (PI). BALB/c mice infected with avirulent virus survived from the infection, whereas immunodeficient mice showed nervous symptoms in addition to respiratory disease and died at 13 days PI. Viral positive antigens was detected from multiple organs including central nervous system in immunodeficient mice infected with avirulent virus. These results suggest that avirulent H5N1 influenza virus can aquire the multiple tissue tropism under immunosuppresed condition and host immune system is a important factor to protect the development of disease.

Postoperative suture granuloma have rarely been reported in animals. Eight biopsy masses from testes areas of neutralized dogs were diagnosed as suture granuloma. The suture granuloma occurred at any time from several weeks to a few years after surgery and appeared to be testicular tumors by macroscopic examination. The granulomas were classified into three types based on the histopathological findings. The first type of pyogranuloma was mainly composed of neutrophils, macrophages, and suture fragments. The second type was chronic necrotizing granuloma which was well demarcated by fibrous connective tissues and was composed of a few suture fragments, macrophages and central fibrinoid necrosis. The third type of granuloma had a poorly defined margin with scarcely observed suture fragments and central necrosis in the tissue. These histopathological findings suggested that various types of suture granuloma may be caused by suture material and could even appear long after surgery.
LDA 토픽 모델링을 활용한 스마트폰 카메라 관련 뉴스기사 분석

This study derived major keywords and topics of news big data on smartphone cameras, checked trends of topics, and suggested implications for smartphone cameras based on the results. After analyzing 33,554 news articles, they were classified into four topics: smartphone camera application and service, smartphone camera market and parts industry, smartphone manufacturers and competitive products comparison, and smartphone camera function and design. From the trend of each topic, competition for smartphone camera functions is accelerating, growth and technology investment in the peripheral parts industry to improve camera functions are increasing, and consumer expectations are increasing. The study is meaningful in that it provides an academic foundation to predict and respond to the development of change technologies and consumers’ interest and expectations for future smartphone cameras. 본 연구는 스마트폰 카메라 관련 뉴스 빅데이터를 활용하여 스마트폰 카메라의 주요 키워드와 토픽을 도출하고 트렌드를 확인하여, 분석 결과를 기반으로 스마트폰 카메라에 대한 시사점을 제안하고자 수행되었다. 33,554건의 뉴스기사를 분석한 결과, 스마트폰 카메라 기반 서비스 및 응용, 스마트폰 카메라 시장 및 부품 산업, 스마트폰 제조사 및 경쟁 제품 비교, 스마트폰 카메라 기능 및 디자인 등 4개의 토픽으로 분류되었다. 각 토픽의 트렌드로부터 스마트폰 카메라 기능에 대한 경쟁이 가속화되고 있으며, 카메라 기능 향상을 위한 주변 부품 산업 성장 및 기술 투자가 증가하고 있고, 소비자들의 기대치가 높아지고 있음을 확인하였다. 본 연구 결과를 바탕으로 미래 스마트폰 카메라 산업에 대한 변화 기술 발전, 소비자들의 관심 및 기대를 예측하고 대응할 수 있는 학술적 기반을 제공한 것에 연구의 의의를 갖는다.
