        Polyphenol oxidase was partially purified from fresh vitis flexuosa and vitis amurensis and its characteristics were studied. the experimental results were summarized as follows. 1.The enzyme activities were increased during the fruit developement gradually in two sample. 2.The optimum pH and temperature for activity were 5.5 and 30℃, respectively. 3.The enzyme was active with o-phenols and trihydroxyphenol, but inactive toward m-diphenols and monophenols. 4.The ?? value of the enzymes was 15.4 mM in vitis flexuosa and 12.5 mM in vitis amurensis with catechol as substrate. 5.Inhibitors sudies indicated that sodium diethyl-dithiocarbamate, L-cysteine, sodium bisulfite, L-ascorbic acid and 2-mercaptoeyhanol were the most potent. 6.The enzyme activity increament by ?? was much better than those by the other metal ions.

        16S rDNA 클론 library 제작 및 핵산염기서열 결정을 통한 교정용 미니임플랜트 주위 열구의 세균 동정

        교정치료 시 고정원으로 사용되는 교정용 미니임플랜트는 가동성 점막인 치조점막 부위에 식립해야 하는 경우가 많은데, 이때 미니임플랜트 주위 연조직의 증식을 동반한 염증이 빈번히 발생한다. 본 연구에서는 치조점막에 식립하여 연조직 증식이 발생된 미니임플랜트 주위의 세균총과 동일 환자의 인접한 건강한 치은 열구의 세균총을 비교하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 7명의 환자를 대상으로 하악 구치부의 치조점막에 식립하여 연조직 증식이 발생한 미니임플랜트 및 이에 연결된 결찰선 주위 열구의 세균막과 미니임플랜트에 인접한, 치은 염증이 없는 제2대구치의 치은열구의 세균막을 멸균된 paper point로 채취한 후, 16S rDNA 클론 library 제작 및 핵산염기서열 분석법을 이용하여 세균을 동정하여 비교하였다. 실험 결과 미니임플랜트 주위 열구로부터 304개의 16S rDNA 클론을 얻었으며, 치은열구로부터 238개의 16S rDNA 클론을 얻었다. 클론의 9.2%에 해당하는 24종의 세균들은 미니임플랜트 주위 열구에서만 검출되었고, 이들은 Haemophilus aphrophilus, Sphingomonas species, Capnocytophaga species, Prevotella melaninogenica, Lachnospiraceae species, Porphyromonas species, Neisseria flava 등이었다. 전체 클론의 80.4%에 해당하는 29종의 세균들은 미니임플랜트 주위 열구 및 건강한 치은 열구 모두에서 검출되었다. 이들 중 특히 미니임플랜트 주위에서 더 많은 클론이 분리된 세균들은 Prevotella species, Atopobium rimae, Veillonella species, Streptococcus intermedius/constellatus, Streptococcus salivarius 등이었다. 향후 연구에서는 본 연구에서 치조점막에 식립한 미니임플랜트 주위에서 검출된 세균들이 염증을 일으키거나 악화시킬 수 있는지를 밝히는 것이 필요하며, 이를 바탕으로 치조점막에 식립한 미니임플랜트 주위의 연조직 염증을 줄일 수 있는 방법을 찾는 것이 바람직하다. Objective: The purpose of this study was to compare the bacterial flora at the peri-implant sulcus of the orthodontic mini-implant placed in the alveolar mucosa with the bacterial flora at the adjacent healthy gingival sulcus. Methods: Two plaque samples from 7 patients were collected by inserting paper points into the sulcus between the mini-implant and ligature wire connected to the mini-implant head and inflamed alveolar mucosa, and from the gingival sulcus of a healthy tooth adjacent to the mini-implant. Results: Using 16S rDNA clone library, the 24 kinds of bacteria including Haemophilus aphrophilus, Sphingomonas species, Capnocytophaga species, Prevotella melaninogenica, Lachnospiraceae species, Porphyromonas species, Neisseria flava were identified only from the sulcus around the mini-implant. These bacteria constituted only 9.2% of total clones, and the bacteria identified from both the sulcus around mini-implants and the gingival sulcus constituted 80.4% of total clones. Of these bacteria, clones of Prevotella species, Atopobium rimae, Veillonella species, Streptococcus intermedius/constellatus, Streptococcus salivarius were more frequently isolated from the peri-implant sulcus. Conclusion: This study suggests that a broad epidemiological study is needed to find causative bacteria which induce inflammation from the peri-implant sulcus.

        한국 복싱의 退潮에 관한 小考

        This paper started from a necessity to reconsider boxing sports, the only sports game that brought about our patriotism during the time when most of us were poor, and flied away out stress and anger, also, that made us dream and have a hope. The boxing game attracted people's interest at that time, meeting the spirit of hungry. However, boxing sports became an unpopular game nobody pays attention to. The reason was that all boxing games mobilized many boxing players and enthusiastic audience in the past, but as GNP elevated greatly, there are few hungry persons, the spirit of hungry was subdued, the number of players drastically decreased, demand of audience reduced, people don't enjoy watching boxing games, there are few spectators in boxing gyms, no sponsors support relay broadcasting for boxing games. Furthermore, results have been very poor in various amateur international boxing match, all broadcasting stations became to dislike relay broadcasting of international matches. A certain broadcasting station regularly sent out pro-boxing game programs every weekend for 45 years as it took a full charge of pro-boxing game, but frequency of relay broadcasting reduced now, and the reason that the popularity rating is lower than other popular sports games made the station avoid relay broadcasting, These results mean that reducing number of TV relay broadcasting showing the highest PR effect made boxing games inactive. Summing up the study, the reasons that boxing games have declined popular sports games' appearing, high-leveled foreign players' watching TV games, the law of diminishing marginal utility, and democratized society. As a result, demand of boxing games rapidly reduced. However, boxing games in Korea must remember Kim, Ki-su's acquisition of championship on July the 25th, 1966, WBA championships obtained by 16 players including Hong, Su-wan, Yu, Myung-woo, Park, Jong-pal, Mun, Seong-kil, and 11 WBC championships acquired by Yeon, Dong-kyun, Jang, Jeong-gu. They surely won an international fame flying the taegeuk flag all over the world. Also, in spite of short history of woman pro-boxing, Lee, In-young acquired a world championship, therefore, Korea still has a hope to meet another new jumping moment.

        전두사골 수막뇌류 및 Saethre-Chotzen증후군에 의한 안와격리증의 치험

        본 교실에서는 전두사골 수막뇌류에 의한 안와격리증 2례는 두개내 접근으로 수막뇌류 절제술을 실시함과 동시에 두 개외 접근으로 안와내벽 및 외벽 절골술로써 교정하였으며 Saethre-Chotzen 후군에 의한 1례는 두개골 성형술과 U형 절골술로 교정하여 비교적 만족할 만한 결과를 얻을 수 있었기에 보고하는 바이다. The authors experienced two cases of mild hypertelorism with frontoethmoidal meningoencephalocele and one with Saethre-Chotzen syndrome. The first and second cases, which had nasofrontal and nasoethmoidal meningoencephalocele respectively, were corrected by resection of the meningoencephalocele, repair of the dura, and calvarial bone graft intracranially, and combined medial and lateral orbital wall osteotomy with augmentation rhinoplasty with calvarial bone grafts extracranially. To stabilize the orbital contents medially, a split osteotomy of the lateral orbital wall and interpositional bone graft were done in order to avoid step deformity of the lateral orbital rim. The third case, Saethre-Chotzen syndrome characterized brachycephaly, hypertelorism, ptosis of the eye lid, maxillary hypoplasia, lower set frontral hair line, and partial cutaneous syndactyly was corrected by a Modified Marchac technique for remodelling the forehead and a subcranial U-osteotomy for mild hypertelorism. Maxillary hypoplasia was corrected effectively by advancement on the medial portion of the U-shaped bony segment. Augmentaton rhinoplasty with calvarial bone graft and chip bone grafts on the anterior nasal spine was done simultaneously. A large amount of nasal bone grafts in two cases were absorbed, and then augmentation rhinoplasty using silicone implant was performed after 6 months, 12 months respectively. In mild hypertelorism with associated deformity, a extranial osteotomy with augmentation rhinoplasty and correction of associated deformities can offer good aesthetic results.

      • 경보동작의 생체역학적 분석

        The purpose of this study was to prepare some useful data for the improvement of athletic performance ability and the prevention of injury by analyzing the biomechanic factors of race walking locomotion. Kinematic variables such as angular changes of low limb joints, support time, stride, as well as the displacement of the center of body gravity were analyzed with the aid of the visual materials filmed with a 16mm high speed camera. The analysis of GRF data by the force platform and EMG data by the EMG system revealed kinetic variable such as impulse, maximum GRF. action potential of muscles, etc. The subjects for the research were 6 high school students; 2 of them were highly trained race walkers, 2 highly trained middle or long distance runners, and 2 untrained average students in both sexes. The anlalytic results of the mechanism of each locomotive pattern are as follows: 1) In order to lengthen the stride, it was essential to improve the moving ability of low limb joints by the intensive training of the flexion and extension of the hip joint during the non-support time, and extension of knee and planter flexion of ankle joint during support time. 2) The anlaysis showed that in race walking, they could get much greater propulsion from the flexion of the ankle joint than from the hip joint or the knee joint. It was, therefore, very important to train walkers so that the initial plantar flexion of the ankle joint might occur from the second half of the supporting phase. 3) The most efficient walking race could be performed when the vertical displacement of body ranged from two to three centimeters because it could minimize the distribution of race walking power. 4) The training of strong plantar flexion of the ankle joint from the latter 50% of support phase to take-off was desirable because anteroposterior GRF helped to get more propulsion than vertical GRF. 5) EMG analysis showed that, in race-walking, the highly trained used vastus lateralis as the primary muscle, while the untrained used vastus medialis. This means that developing vastus lateralis is essential in order to improve the race walking performance ability. For further subsequent study, it is necessary to measure and analyze the GRF of both feet with two sets of force platform. And it is also necessary to make a three-dimentional analysis of locomotion.

        삭골(Bone shaving)한 골의 재생에 골막이 미치는 영향

        Many orientals have a more prominent malar eminence and mandibular angle than westerners so their faces often look rough and unattracive. In recent years more people want to have a more attractive and beautiful face due to economic prosperity and westernization. Therefore people receiving bone shavings or osteotomies for cosmetic purposes are increasing. The effects of the periosteum on lay bone grafts were investigated but the effect of the periosteum after bone shaving or osteotomy is little known. The authors investigated the effect of the periosteum on the regeneration of bone in membranous and endochondral bone of rabbits. Bony defects each measuring about 5.0×5.0×1.5mm were made on the left and right sides of the parietal bones of 15 rabbits and femurs of 15 other rabbits respectively. The periosteum was preserved on the left and removed on the right. The following results were obtained: 1) The average thickness of the regenerated bones in groups 2 δ4 were thinner than those in groups 1 δ 3 at 4, 8 and 12 weeks postoperatively but the differences of thickness were statistically significant at onl 4weeks postoperatively(P<0.05). 2) The histological findings in groups 2 δ 4 showed lesser regeneration of the shaved bone than those in groups 1 δ 3 at 4, 8 and 12weeks postoperatively. 3) There was no significant increase in the thickness of the regenerated bone after 8 weeks postoperatively in all groups. 4) At 12 weeks postoperatively, the thickness of the regenerated bone in all groups was over 70% of the thickness of the resected bone. In summary, the authors found that it is important to perform overcorrection and resect the periosteum simultaneously in bone shaving to prevent the unwanted regeneration.

        치면세균막에서 분리한 뮤탄스 연쇄상구균 및 Streptococcus anginosus의 수종 항생제에 대한 감수성 조사

        The aim of this study was to investigate the susceptibility of mutans streptococci (S. mutans and S. sobrinus) and Streptococcus anginosus, for seven antibiotics, penicillin G, amoxicillin, ciprofloxacin, cefuroxime, erythromycin, bacitracin, and vancomycin. The minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) of seven antibiotics against 3 species (type strains) of mutans streptococci and S. anginosus, 10 strains (wild type) of S. mutans, 7 strains (wild type) of S. sobrinus, and 11 strains (wild type) of S. anginosus, were measured by broth dilution method. All of the type strains of mutans streptococci and S. anginosus had the same susceptibility for penicillin G, amoxicillin, cefuroxime and bacitracin. Type strain of S. anginosus was sensitive in ciprofloxacin, but those of mutans streptococci were not. All of the clinical isolates of mutans streptococci and S. anginosus had the same susceptibility for the seven antibiotics. Our data reveal that mutans streptococci and S. anginosus have similar antibiotic-resistant character. In addition. these results may offer the basic data to verify the antibiotic-resistant mechanism of mutans streptococci and S. anginosus.

      • 디버링 작업을 위한 로봇 제어기 개발

        This paper presents the controller of a double parallel robot manipulator applied for deburring work. This is one of the least favored works because of dust, noise, vibration, and accidental injury. A serial robot manipulator has been limitedly applied to light-load deburring work due to the poor stiffness of the manipulator. A double parallel robot manipulator has been developed for a strong rigidity by stacking two parallel mechanisms. It can be applied to heavy-load deburring work with high stiffness. To apply the robot to cut the burrs on a unknown geometric surface, this research will develop an intelligent controller to measure bur track and cut it with a constant cutting force.
