마이스터고등학교와 외국어고등학교 재학생들의 입학동기 및 개인배경 비교연구 = A Comparative Study on Entrance Motivation and Personal Background of Meister High School and Foreign Language High School Students

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this study is to compare personal background (motivation for entering school, family background, career after high school graduation, career guidance before entrance, career after graduation, and etc.) of students attending Meister High School which is a specialty high school with foreign high school which is a foreign language special purpose high school. To study its actual condition, survey data targeting 178 male students of Meister High School located in B city and 74 male students of Foreign High School in the same city was analyzed through cross tabulation and verification of average difference. As a result of analysis, there was significant difference between each group for father`s educational background, financial status of family, conversation status of family, family satisfactory level, self-directing learning attitude, decision time for entering high school, reason for going to special purpose high school, grade(rank) in middle school, opportunity to counsel career with high school teacher, contents that one wants to counsel during career counseling after graduating high school, and target who counsel about career after graduating high school. However, there was no significant difference in learning attitude on majoring subject, satisfactory level on majoring subject, satisfactory level on education contents, career guidance and information provision level in middle school, and understanding level before entering special purpose high school. Based on this study result, Meister High School must conduct a differentiated educational policy from the range of the existing specialized high school as a special purpose high school. In addition, complete educational policy and education administration that conform to establishment purpose of a speciality high school is required since entrance motivation is resolute. Therefore, a future study about Meister High School must conduct a study and a policy in the same level and direction of normal special purpose high schools rather than the existing study trend.
