성별에 따라 유아의 기질과 어머니의 우울, 양육스트레스가 유아의 또래놀이상호작용에 미치는 영향

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 유아의 성별에 따른 기질, 어머니의 우울과 양육스트레스가 유아의 또래놀이 상호작용에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지 알아보고자 하였다. 35개월 이상 42개월 이하의 유아와 그 어머니를 대상으로 하였으며 이를 위해 육아정책연구소(KICCE)의 한국아동패널(Panel Study on Korean Children) 4차년도(2011) 데이터를 사용하였다.
유아의 성별에 따른 측정변인들 간의 차이와 상관관계 및 영향력을 알아보기 위하여 차이검증과 상관분석, 회귀분석을 실시한 결과 남녀 유아를 비교한 결과는 활동성, 놀이방해, 놀이단절, 또래놀이상호작용에서 차이를 보였으며, 남아의 경우 놀이방해는 사회성 기질과 어머니의 우울이 영향이 있었다. 놀이단절은 사회성 기질이 영향이 있었으며, 놀이상호작용은 사회성 기질이 영향력을 미쳤다. 여아의 경우 놀이방해에 사회성 기질과 어머니의 우울이 영향이 있었다. 놀이단절은 정서성 기질과 사회성 기질이 영향이 있었고, 놀이상호작용은 정서성 기질이 영향이 있었다. 이러한 결과를 토대로 성별에 따른 기질의 차이를 인정하고 개인적인 차이를 세심하게 고려하여 질적으로 높은 상호작용과 놀이개입 등을 통한 개입이 필요하다는 결론을 유추할 수 있었다. 또한 어머니의 우울은 남녀 유아의 놀이방해 행동에 영향을 미쳤으므로 어머니의 긍정적 정서가 또래놀이상호작용에 중요한 변인임을 알 수 있었다. 이를 위하여 어머니의 우울과 양육스트레스 예방과 감소를 위한 대책이 마련되어야 할 것이다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The study aims to investigate the impact of children’s temperament and mothers’ depression and parenting stress on the children’s peer play interactions according to the gender. For this, the study recruited children aged 35 months through 42 months and their mothers and used the 4th year of Panel Study on Korean Children data (2011) from Korea Institute of Child Care and Education (KICCE).
The difference verification, correlation analysis and regression analysis among measurement variations according to the gender of the children revealed that there were differences in activity, play disturbance, play disconnection, and peer play interactions between male and female children. As for boys, play disturbance were influenced by their sociality and mothers’ depression, play disconnection by sociality and play interactions by the sociality. Meanwhile, girls showed that play disturbance was affected by their sociality and mothers’ depression; for play disconnection, emotionality and sociality had influence, while play interactions were affected by their emotionality. The result implicated that it is necessary to recognize temperament differences according to gender, thoroughly consider individual differences and conduct interventions through quality interactions and play intervention. Additionally, considering that mothers’ depression affected play disturbance behaviors of both boys and girls, it was revealed that positive emotions of mothers is a critical variation for peer play interactions. Therefore, it is required to develop measures to prevent and reduce mothers‘ depression and parenting stress.
