취약청소년 진로발달 연구 동향 = A Research Review of Korean Disadvantaged Adolescents’ Career Development

This study reviews the career developments of disadvantaged adolescents as they have been revealed in research undertaken in Korea. Firstly, the current discussions in US on the issues related disadvantaged adolescents’ career development was reviewed and gender and social class model of career development which was recently suggested was examined. Secondly, the literature search with key words were undertaken and then included hand searches of the references cited in relevant studies. The literature searching process revealed the lack of research in area of Korean disadvantagee adolescents' career development and this situation was very different from other countries. With the searched studies content analysis was conducted and the four main research areas were identified. They were the empirical examinations of variables related career developments, the career development programs, the qualitative explorations, and the suggestions of policies for the independent living of vulnerable adolescents. Lastly the discussions focused on the implications of the findings on research and counseling practices of career developments of Korean disadvantaged adolescents.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

이 연구는 취약청소년의 진로발달에 관한 국내외 연구결과들을 살펴보고, 지금까지 우리나라 취약청소년의 진로발달을 탐색한 연구가 어느 정도 수행되었고 그 연구결과의 내용이 주는 시사점이 무엇인지 검토하여, 앞으로 취약청소년 진로발달 연구의 나아갈 방향을 도출해 보고자 하였다. 이를 위해 미국에서 제안된 성역할 및 사회계층의 진로발달 모형(GSCM)의 주요내용과 그 근거가 되는 경험적 연구의 내용을 살펴보았고, 우리나라에서 수행된 취약청소년 대상 진로관련 연구들을 수집하여 분석하였다. 그 결과, 우리나라 취약청소년들의 진로발달 연구는 시작단계에 있어 그 수가 많지 않았는데 연구 동향을 크게 취약청소년들의 진로발달 관련 변인 연구와 취약청소년 대상 진로프로그램 연구, 취약청소년들의 진로에 대한 질적 연구들과 취약청소년들의 자립을 중심으로 한 정책 연구들로 나누어 살펴보았다. 이 가운데 취약청소년의 진로발달 관련 변인에 대한 연구는 다른 영역보다 많은 연구가 수행되었으나 다양한 변인에 대한 탐구가 이루어지고 있지 않다는 제한점이 있었다. 이후 이러한 연구결과가 우리나라 취약청소년 진로발달 및 진로상담 연구에 시사하는 바를 중심으로 논의하였다.
