Delinquency adolescent has a high rate of dropout from school discontinuity caused by poor scholastic performance, maladjustment to school and runaway from home. Therefore, they enter to the job marketearlier than normal adolescent in general. For these reasons, the need for career guidance for the delinquency adolescent is very high.
And Career education and guidance for the delinquency adolescent are urgently called in order to reduce their re-delinquency rates and motivate them to have a goal in their life and career through a promotion of of career attitude development. But previous research and investigation on career problem of delinquency adolescent were not sufficient, the data for career guidance that would be appropriate in the characteristics of delinquency adolescent are demanded.
The purpose of this study is to find out the difference and characteristics of career attitude on the demand on career information, work value and career maturity between delinquency adolescent and normal adolescent. In order to perform the survey, two groups, 109 students from the Juvenile Protection Education Institution located in Kyeonggi province and 168 students from middle and high school in metropolitan area were selected for the comparative group study.
The results of this study can be summarized as follows. First, significant differences of the demand on career information between delinquency adolescent and normal adolescent were showed in 6 questions out of 16 questions. Delinquency adolescent shows statistically significant low interest in items such as 'the personalized educational consultation', 'the classified employment-unemployment analysis', 'a successful way to professional man' and 'vocational aptitude and preference' and high level of interest in item 'the way to business owner' compare to normal adolescent. Second, work value of delinquency adolescent is lower in intrinsic value and higher in extrinsic value compare to normal adolescent. Third, this study shows that delinquency adolescent had a statistically significant lower career maturity status at the level of p<.05 and career decision scale in sub-items at the level of p<.001 than normal adolescent.
Based on the study stated as above, it shows that the development of career awareness of delinquency adolescent is retarded in general, which shows that career guidance for them is urgently called for. Therefore, career guidance for the delinquency adolescent should be provided to develop their career awareness and make them achieve their goalon their life and career, which could protect them from re-delinquency.
This study is useful in providing a preliminary data on the career guidance for delinquency adolescent.

비행청소년은 학업성적의 부진, 학교 부적응, 가출 등의 문제로 학업중단률이 높고 따라서 직업세계로 나아가는 시기가 일반청소년에 비해 빠른 편이다. 그러나 직업으로 나아가는 시기만 빠를 뿐 사실 비행청소년은 삶과 진로에 대한 목표가 명확치 않으며 이는 비행청소년의 가장 큰 문제로 지적되고 있다. 따라서 이들에 대한 진로교육이나 진로상담은 일반청소년에 비해 더 많이 필요하다. 그러나 이들이 진로에 대해 가지고 있는 생각이나 요구, 가치관, 발달상태 등은 그 선행연구가 충분치 않아 잘 알려져 있지 않고 이들에게 맞는 진로지도프로그램을 만들 자료가 부족한 편이다.
따라서 본 연구에서는 비행청소년의 효과적 진로지도를 위해 비행청소년의 진로정보에 대한 요구, 직업가치관 그리고 진로태도성숙 수준 등의 전반적인 진로의식이 일반청소년과 비교하여 어떻게 다르며 어떠한 특징을 지니는지를 알아보고자 하였다. 이를 위하여 경기도 소재 소년분류심사원의 남녀 원생 109명과 수도권 내 중 고등학교 남녀 학생 168명을 연구 대상으로 하였다.
본 연구 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다.
첫째, 비행청소년 집단의 진로정보에 대한 요구는 일반청소년 집단과 유의미한 차이가 있는 항목이 총 16문항 중 6문항이었다. 항목별로 보면 대학학과 정보, 직업별 취업 실업 동향, 직업인으로 성공할 수 있는 길, 나의 적성, 흥미와 적합한 직업이 일반청소년에 비해 통계적으로 유의미하게 낮은 수준을 보이는 항목이었고 자영업자가 되는 길 항목은 통계적으로 일반청소년에 비해 높은 수준을 보였다.
둘째, 비행청소년의 직업가치는 일반청소년에 비해 내적 가치는 낮았으며 외적 가치는 높았다.
셋째, 비행청소년의 진로성숙수준은 일반청소년에 비해 통계적으로 p<.05 수준에서 유의미하게 낮았으며, 하위요인별로는 진로결정수준이 일반청소년보다 통계적으로 p<.001 수준에서 유의미하게 낮다는 연구 결과가 나왔다.
이와 같은 연구결과로 보건대 비행청소년의 진로의식 발달은 일반청소년에 비해 전반적으로 지체되고 있다. 이는 그만큼 비행청소년들을 위한 진로지도가 시급하다는 것을 증명하는 결과라 하겠다. 본 연구는 이러한 비행청소년을 위한 진로지도의 기본적인 자료를 제시하고 있다는 점에 그 의의를 둘 수 있겠다.
