集團美術治療 프로그램이 低所得 缺損家庭 兒童의 情緖에 미치는 影響 : 憂鬱, 不安, 衝動性을 中心으로 = Effects of group art therapy program on depression, anxiety and impulsivity in the low-income broken home children

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This was to study the effects of the group art therapy program on depression, anxiety, and impulsivity of the children from low-income broken home. The subjects of the study were 38 children in P Children's Center at J city in Jeonbuk, who were divided into two groups with same numbers randomly, the experimental group and the control group.
The group art therapy program was performed only to the experimental group, which was carried out weekly from May 4 to August 17, 2007. The total number sessions of the art therapy was 16. The level of depression, anxiety, and impulsivity was assessed with CDI, RCMAS, and MFF. The assessment was performed three times; Before (Time 0) - Middle (8th week) - After (16th week) the art therapy, and the scores of the assessment scales were compared between the groups as well as within the group through the Repeated Measures ANOVA. The result was as follows.
The scores of depression scale and its subscales were significantly decreased in the experimental group but not in the control group. The scores of anxiety scale and impulsivity scales were also significantly dropped in the same way. These results suggested that the group art therapy was effective in reliving the depression, anxiety, and impulsivity of the children form the low-income broken home. It seemed that the factors reducing the negative affect and behavior problems were the nonverbal and verbal expression of the emotion through the free drawing or painting and talking about their inner experience in front of the others, the emotional support from the members through the sharing their emotional experience and the listening with attention to their speech in the milieu of warm acceptance, and the training of observing the rule during the therapeutic sessions. Then they became to learn recognizing their own as well as the other's emotion and controlling it without acting out.
