청소년기 반발심과 문제행동 및 우울에 대한 연구 = (The) Study of Adol escents′Reactance, Problem Behaviors and Depression

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구에서는 반발심을 분리-개별화 과정에서 나타나는 청소년의 보편적 심리 반응으로, 문제행동과 우울은 부적응적 증상으로 보았다. 그리고 반발심, 문제행동, 우울의 관계를 살피고, 성, 학년, 성적, 생활 정도, 내·외 통제성과 같은 개인차 변인에 따른 차이를 밝혀보고자 했다.
연구 대상은 서울의 강남, 남부, 동작 교육청 관내의 초·중·고 학생들 850명을 대상으로 설문 조사하였다.

본 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다.

첫째, 반발심, 문제행동, 우울은 아동기 이후 청소년기로 갈수록 증가하는 경향을 보였다. 그런데 반발심과 우울은 중·고 간에 유의미한 차이를 보이지 않은 반면, 문제행동은 초·중·고 세 집단 간 유의미한 차이를 보였다.

둘째, 남자는 청소년 중기인 고2 때 반발심, 문제행동, 우울이 가장 높았으나, 여자는 청소년 전기인 중2에서 증폭되었다가 중기인 고2 때는 오히려 감소하는 경향이 있었다.

셋째, 성적이 가장 낮은 하집단이 상·중집단보다 반발심, 문제행동, 우울이 더 유의미하게 높았다.

넷째, 생활 정도가 가장 어려운 하집단이 상·중집단보다 더 높은 반발심과 문제행동을 보였으나, 우울은 세 집단 간 유의미한 차이가 없었다.
다섯째, 반발심이 높을수록 문제행동과 우울도 높은 경향이 있었다.

여섯째, 내적 통제성이 높은 집단이 낮은 집단에 비해 반발심과 문제행동, 우울이 유의미하게 더 낮았으며, 동일한 수준의 높은 반발심일지라도 내적 통제가 높을 경우는 문제행동과 우울이 유의미하게 감소하였다.

결론적으로 청소년은 성인으로 성장하는 발달 과정에서 남자는 중기인 고등학교, 여자는 전기인 중학교 때가 정신적으로 가장 불건강해지기 쉬운 시기이며, 성적이 낮을수록, 생활 정도가 어려울수록 그리고 내적 통제 수준이 낮은 청소년일수록 부적응적 증상을 나타낼 가능성이 많았다.

The Study of Adolescents′Reactance,
Problem Behaviors and Depression



This study was attempted to consider “Reactance” as general psychological reaction of adolescents shown in the process of separation-individuation, and“Problem behaviors and Depression”were considered as unadaptive behaviors. It was attempted to find out the relation among the“Reactance”, "Problem behaviors" and“Depression”and also to find out the difference according to individual variations such as their sex, grade, school records, standard of the living, and internal-external locus of control.
The objects of this study were 850 male and female students sampled in elementary schools, middle schools and high schools located in Kang-nam, Nam-bu, and Dong-jak Education Office area.

The results were as follows;
1. Reactance, problem behaviors and depression have a tendency to increase during the adolescence.
There was no significant difference in reactance and depression between the middle school and high school groups. On the contrary, there was significant difference in problem behaviors among the groups of elementary school, middle school and high school

2. Male students of the second grade in high school had strong reactance, problem behaviors and depression. But Female students showed strong reactance, problem behaviors and depression in the second grade of middle school than in high school.

3. In records, the worst group had more reactance, problem behaviors and depression than the best or middle groups.

4. In standard of the living, the worst group had more reactance, problem behaviors than the others. But there was no significant difference among the 3 groups in depression.

5. As they got more reactance, adolescents had more problem behaviors and depression.

6. As the internal-control level was higher, adolescents had lower problem behaviors and depression. In addition, even though reactance was higher, if they have more internal-control, their problem behaviors and depressions were decreased significantly .

In conclusion, this study shows that male students in high school and female students in middle school are apt to have unhealthy metality in the process of becoming adults. The worse grades they get, the poorer they are, and the lower internal control they get, the more chances of unadaptive behaviors adolescents get.
