      • A case of cerebellar hemorrhage due to cavernous malformation rupture in early pregnancy, misdiagnosed as Wernicke encephalopathy

        Vomiting in early pregnancy is commonly diagnosed as hyperemesis gravida. If vomiting is pursued and neurological symptoms appear, Wernicke encephalopathy can be considered. We report the case of a patient who experienced vomiting and headache during pregnancy due to cavernous malformation rupture in the left cerebellum but was misdiagnosed as Wernicke encephalopathy due to hyperemesis gravida. A 40-year-old gravida 2 para 1 Indonesian woman, presented to emergency center at 17 weeks, with the concern of vomiting, right occipital headache and severe general weakness for 3 weeks. Physical examination revealed left beating nystagmus and drowsy mental status. Her general weakness could not be differentiated from ataxia but her both motor and sensory was intact. The patient was initially diagnosed as Wernicke encephalopathy due to hyperemesis gravida. Her thyroid hormones and vitamin B1 levels were within normal range. Her Brain MRI showed a 5 cm-sized hemorrhagic mass in the left cerebellum with hydrocephalus in both lateral and 3rd ventricles. The patient went through craniotomy and the hemorrhagic mass, revealed to be cavernous malformation in the left cerebellum, was resected. After surgery, her initial symptoms improved. Her biopsy result confirmed the diagnosis, as cavernous malformation. This case demonstrates the similarities in symptoms between cerebellar hemorrhage and Wernicke encephalopathy. The case also highlights the need for brain imaging, particularly in the vomiting pregnant patient with neurologic symptoms.

        Self-Assembly of Vanadium Borophosphate Cluster Anions: Synthesis and Structures of (NH4)(C2H10N2)5.5[Cu(C2H8N2)2]3[V2P2BO

        Two new copper vanadium borophosphate compounds, (NH4)(C2H10N2)5.5[Cu(C2H8N2)2]3[V2P2BO12]6•17H2O, Cu-VBPO1 and (NH4)(C2H10N2)3.5[Cu(C2H8N2)2]5[V2P2BO12]6•18H2O, Cu-VBPO2 have been hydrothermally synthesized and characterized by single crystal X-ray diffraction, thermogravimetric analysis, IR spectroscopy, and elemental analysis. The structure of Cu-VBPO1 contains a layer anion, {[Cu(C2H8N2)2]3[V2P2BO12]6}12, whereas Cu-VBPO2 has an open framework anion, {[Cu(C2H8N2)2]5[V2P2BO12]6}8.         고강도 간헐적 운동프로그램이 과체중 남자 대학생의 비만도, 체력 및 대사증후군 위험요인에 미치는 영향

        The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of the 6 week high intensity intermittent exercise(Tabata exercise program) on obesity, physical fitness and metabolic syndrome risk factors in overweight male college students. The participants of this study consisted of 20 people over 20 years old(body mass index of 23 or higher), divided into 10 exercise groups and 10 control groups. The exercise group performed a 14-minute (three times/week) program for six weeks with 80-90% intensity. The control group maintained daily life without any special treatment during the same period. Body composition, health related physical fitness, blood pressure and blood lipid were measured before and after exercise. The results of this study were as follows. The waist circumference, hip circumference, waist circumference - height ratio were significantly decreased in the exercise group. The muscle strength, muscle endurance, and cardiorespiratory fitness were increased. In addition, the blood pressure, a risk factor for metabolic syndrome, was significantly decreased in systolic and diastolic blood pressures in the exercise group, and no statistically significant change was found in other variables of blood lipid. Triglyceride, and blood glucose decreased and high density lipoprotein cholesterol tended to increase. The results of this study concluded that the participation of 6 weeks of high intensity intermittent exercise program plays an important role in improving obesity, physical fitness, and risk factors of metabolic syndrome in overweight male college students.

        회화의 복제를 통한 일러스트레이션으로의 변용 연구-육심원과 요시토모 나라를 중심으로

        미디어의 발전은 일러스트레이션의 영역을 확장시키는데 큰 도움을 주었다. 매체예술, 대중예술로서 매체의 제한을 받았던 일러스트레이션이 미디어의 발전을 통해 대중과의 소통의 장을 넓히는 역할을 한 것이다. 회화 또한 페인팅(painting)의 개념인 `그림을 그리는` 의미에서의 회화에서 매체를 이용하는 다양한 표현 형태를 가진 회화로 영역이 확대되었다. 하지만 이렇게 회화가 매체를 통해 복제되어지는 과정은 일러스트레이션에서의 `복제`의미와는 다르다. 일러스트레이션에서의 복제는 대중과의 소통을 위한 방법으로서 매체를 사용한다. 회화가 원본성에 의미를 둔다면 일러스트레이션은 복제를 통해 의미와 가치가 커지는 것이다. 하지만 최근 회화가 전략으로서의 복제가 아닌 일러스트레이션의 `복제`의미를 가지고 있는 현상을 발견할 수 있다. 육심원과 요시토모 나라의 활동이 일러스트레이션의 복제가 두드러지게 나타나는 경우라 할 수 있다. 이 두 아티스트는 대중과의 소통을 목적으로 작가의 의도에 따라 매체를 통해 작품을 복제하였다. 이는 매체예술과 대중예술로서의 일러스트레이션과 닮아있음을 알 수 있다. 저자는 그들이 활용하는 대중매체 분석을 통해 일러스트레이션 활용영역에서 그들의 회화콘텐츠가 사용되어진다는 것이 입증하였다. 복제, 소통이라는 일러스트레이션의 특성을 가진 육심원과 요시토모 나라는 일러스트레이션 활용영역에서 작업 활동을 하므로 그들의 작품이 일러스트레이션으로 인식하게 됨을 증명하는 것이다. Media development helped illustration to extend. The development widened the communication through the illustration, which had been limited in media arts and public arts. In addition, media influenced painting to expand simple `painting paintings` concept to representation using various media. However, this does not mean `replication` in illustration. Replication in illustration uses media to communicate with public. When painting lays its mean on originality, the mean and value of illustration grow through replica. Recently, such a phenomenon can be found: painting not only strategically replicates but also replicates in the meaning of illustration. Works of Yuk Sim Won and Yoshitomo Nara well displays the illustrative replica. These artists intensely replicated their works to communicate with public. It is similar to the illustration in media art and public art. By analyzing the mass media the artists use, the author demonstrated that their painting contents are used in illustration. As that the artists with replica and communication, the characteristics of illustration, Yuk Sim Won and Yoshitomo Nara, operate in illustration area proves, their works are recognized as illustration.

        The present study measured the frost characteristics on an array of fin-tube under the heat pump condition. The key test conditions were air temperature of 2℃, absolute humidity of 3.67 g/㎏DA, air velocity of 1.5 m/s, and coolant temperature of -10℃. The coolant was ethylene-glycool aqueous solution with the concentration of 50%. Total frost mass was measured by increasing the number of fin. Local frost mass was increased near the tube side of the fin-tube arrangement. Frost mass profiles on the fin side were monitored. Heat transfer rate was increased up to 30 minutes and then decreased as time passes.

        The present study measured the frost characteristics on an array of fin-tube under the heat pump condition. The key parameters were air temperature from 2 to 7℃, absolute humidity of air from 2.98 to 3.92g/㎏DA, air velocity from 1 to 2m/s, and cooling surface temperature from -5 to -15℃. The coolant was 50% ethylene-glycol aqueous solution. Frost surface temperature was decreased and frost thickness was increased near the tube side of the fin-tube arrangement. Frost temperature profiles on the fin side were fully scanned. Heat transfer rate was increased up to 30 minutes and the decreased as the frost thickness was thickened as time passes.

        UNIX 운영체제가 널리 보급됨에 따라 UNIX를 기반으로 하는 데이타베이스 관리체제의 개발이 요청되고 있다. 그러나, 국내에서는 아직도 데이타베이스관리체제를 독자적으로 설계하여 개발해 본 경험이 매우 부족한 상태이다. 본 연구에서는 UNIX를 기반으로 하여 높은 성능을 갖는 데이타베이스관리체제의 프로토타입을 설계하고 개발하였다. 이 데이타베이스관리체제는 데이타베이스 언어로 SQL을 제공하며 동시성 제어와 회복 기능을 제공한다.

        Wire arc additive manufacturing (WAAM) is a process that combines an electric arc as a heat source and a wire as feedstock to build a component layer by layer. In arc welding, heat input is an important characteristic because it influences the cooling rate, which could affect the mechanical properties and microstructure of the deposition part. We investigated the effect of heat input on the microstructure and mechanical property of the additive layer manufactured for Ti64 alloys. High-heat input (H; 1 kJ/mm) produced a columnar grain exhibiting a large anisotropic property of tensile strength. Low-heat input (L; 0.5 kJ/mm) transformed the columnar grains to the equiaxed ones, and its reason was associated with the solidification cooling rates accelerated. However, the H specimens exhibited a larger tensile strength and hardness than the L specimens, which can be explained by volume fraction of the hardened phase (α’ martensite and secondary α). The microstructure in H and L specimens were further identified by SEM-EDX and TEM. The thermal history in the WAAM deposits was also simulated using finite element method. At the certain temperature gradient, the faster cooling rates produced the more fraction of the equiaxed grains. Furthermore, the H specimens exhibited more thermal cycles calculated to verify the condition that can produce more α’ martensite and secondary α. Therefore, the L specimen changed the grain structure to equiaxed one and reduced the anisotropy of tensile strength significantly.
