        2세대 공공디자인 툴킷에 관한 연구 -서울시 공공디자인 사업을 중심으로-

        (연구배경 및 목적) 4차 산업혁명 시대에는 디자인 씽킹을 비롯한 다양한 디자인방법론이 대두되며 기존지식의 충실한 수행보다는 새로운 아이디어를 창조하는 것이 더욱 중요해지고 있다. 공공디자인 분야에서도 디자인 툴킷의 개발과 활용이 이루어지고 있지만 대부분 사용되고 있는 디자인 툴킷은 해외 기업에서 만들어진 학습매뉴얼 타입의 툴킷 또는 이를 모방하거나 참고한 툴킷으로, 공공디자인 사업과는 연계성이 부족하다고 볼 수 있다. 본 논문은 공공디자인 영역에서의 디자인 툴킷 사용 현황을 파악하고 이를 공공디자인 툴킷으로 구분, 현재 공공디자인 툴킷의 문제점을 분석하여 새로운 디자인 툴킷 개발의 전망과 방향성 제시를 연구의 목적으로 한다. (연구방법) 본 연구는 공공디자인으로 분류되는 사업에서 사용되고 있는 툴킷을 공공디자인툴킷으로 정의하였으며 가이드라인, 체크리스트 등으로 분류할 수 있는‘매뉴얼 툴킷’과 유저의 사용방법에 따라 다양한 결과물을 도출해낼 수 있는‘매니풀레이티브 툴킷’의 두 가지 유형으로 공공디자인 툴킷을 구분하였다. 구분된 공공디자인 툴킷의 현황과 구성을 분석하여 현재 공공디자인 툴킷의 문제점을 개선하는 2세대 공공디자인 툴킷 개발에 대한 방향성을 제시하는 것으로 본 연구를 진행하였다. (결과) 범죄예방환경디자인, 유니버설디자인의 경우 가이드라인, 체크리스트 등과 같은 매뉴얼 툴킷을 적용하여 운영하고 있지만 매니풀레이티브 툴킷은 사용되고 있지 않았고, 사회문제해결디자인, 도시 및 시설물디자인의 경우는 조작가능한 특성을 가진 툴킷이 사용되고 있지만 그 형태가 다양하지 않아 새로운 아이디어를 도출하거나 하는 구성주의에 기반을 둔다고 보기는 어렵다. 공공서비스디자인의 경우 매니풀레이티브 툴킷이 상대적으로 활성화되어있지만 대부분의 툴킷이 디자인 씽킹을 기반으로 한 서비스디자인 방법론에 기초하고 있어 툴킷 자체의 특이점이나 차이점을 찾아보기 어렵다. (결론) 따라서 2세대 공공디자인 툴킷의 개발을 위해서는 디지털 매체의 활용으로 장소의 제약이 없거나 유저가 직접 툴킷의 구성을 변경, 보완하여 사용하는 등의 전망이 기대되며 공공디자인 유형별 디자인 방법론의 적용과 유저간 다양한 상호작용을 가능하게 하는 등 공공디자인 툴킷 영역의 확장가능성을 가질 수 있으며 4차 산업 기술과 접목시킨 형태의 공공디자인 툴킷의 개발이 필요하다. (Research Background and Purpose) In the era of the 4th industrial revolution, various design methodologies including design thinking are emerging and it is becoming more important to create new ideas than to faithfully following existing norms and knowledge. In the public design filed, design toolkits are also being developed and utilized. However, most of the design toolkits used in the field are learning manual-type toolkits made by overseas companies, or toolkits made by imitating or referring to them. Therefore, they seem to lack in connectivity with public design projects. The purpose of this paper is to identify the current state of use of design toolkits in the public design area, classify them into public design toolkits, analyze the problems of current public design toolkits, and present the prospects and directions of new design toolkit development (Research Method) In this study, toolkits used in the public design projects are classified as public design toolkits, which are divided into two types such as “Manual toolkit” that can be classified by guidelines, checklists, etc. and “Manipulatory toolkits”that can produce various results according to the user's usage. This study presented the direction for the development of 2nd generation public design toolkit that improves the problems of the current public design toolkits by analyzing the status and composition of the classified public design toolkit. (Results) The crime prevention environment design and universal design used Manual toolkits such as guidelines and checklists, but they did not use manipulative toolkits. In case of social problem solving design and urban and facility design, various toolkits with manipulative characteristics we reused, but the forms are not diverse, so it is difficult to say that it is based on constructivism that generates new ideas. In the case of public service design, the manipulative toolkits are relatively actively used, but most of the toolkits are based on a service design methodology rooted in design thinking, so it is difficult to find the singularities or differences of the toolkit itself. (Conclusion) Therefore, for the development of the 2nd generation public design toolkit, it is expected that there are no restrictions on the location due to the use of digital media, or that the user directly changes and supplements the composition of the toolkit. It can have the expandability of the public design toolkit domain, such as applying the design methodology for each type of public design and enabling interactions among users. Furthermore, it is necessary to develop a public design toolkit in the form of grafting with 4th industrial technology.

      • Epitranscriptomic N <SUP>6</SUP>-Methyladenosine Modification Is Required for Direct Lineage Reprogramming into Neurons

        N<sup>6</sup>-methyladenosine (m<sup>6</sup>A), a conserved epitranscriptomic modification of eukaryotic mRNA (mRNA), plays a critical role in a variety of biological processes. Here, we report that m<sup>6</sup>A modification plays a key role in governing direct lineage reprogramming into induced neuronal cells (iNs). We found that m<sup>6</sup>A modification is required for the remodeling of specific mRNAs required for the neuronal direct conversion. Inhibition of m<sup>6</sup>A methylation by Mettl3 knockdown decreased the efficiency of direct lineage reprogramming, whereas increased m<sup>6</sup>A methylation by Mettl3 overexpression increased the efficiency of iN generation. Moreover, we found that transcription factor Btg2 is a functional target of m<sup>6</sup>A modification for efficient iN generation. Taken together, our results suggest the importance of establishing epitranscriptomic remodeling for the cell fate conversion into iNs.

        LIBS를 활용한 모르타르 단면 염화물 침투 분석

        본 연구에서는 모르타르 내 침투염화물 분석에서의 LIBS 적용성과 재현성 검토를 수행하였다. 염화물 농도별 촉진 및 침지된 모르타르를 대상으로 표준분석(IC, 전위차 적정법)과 LIBS 분석을 동시에 진행하였다. 표준분석 결과, 염화물 농도와 함량이 침투깊이 별로 뚜렷하게 나타났다. 침투농도별 동일깊이의 분말시료를 대상으로 용출액을 만들고 LIBS 분석을 한결과, Cl-는 837.59nm 파장에서 깊이, 농도에 따라 신호강도가 확인되었고, LIBS 신호 강도와 Cl-농도 사이의 높은 상관관계를 확인할 수 있었다. 수용액 기반의 LIBS 분석이지만 혼입(내재) 염화물 뿐만 아니라 침투 염화물량 분석에도 LIBS 적용 가능성과 재현성을 확인하였다. In this study, the applicability and reproducibility of LIBS in the analysis of chloride penetration in the mortar section were investigated. Standard analysis (IC, potentiometric titration) and LIBS analysis were simultaneously performed on the accelerated and immersed mortar by chloride concentration. Through LIBS analysis after making an eluate at the same depth for each concentration, the signal intensity of chloride ions was confirmed according to the depth and concentration at the wavelength of 837.59 nm, and a correlation between the LIBS signal intensity and the chloride concentration was confirmed. Although it is an aqueous solution-based LIBS analysis, the applicability and reproducibility of LIBS were confirmed not only for the incorporation of chloride but also for the amount of permeated chloride.

      • Face recognition using average example image

        <P>A novel face recognition approach by the use of a bundle of example images is presented, in which a combination of useful examples for face recognition is selected, and multiple augmented example images are made using those images. For this purpose, first, example images are divided into multiple groups using unsupervised methods such as the K-means method, and then clustering them into several groups according to their image variations. In each group, the most similar example images to an input image are found and they independently make an example average image from both the retrieved examples and their rank orders. When comparing similarities between two images, now local distance information can be utilised, which are calculated via corresponding average example images, as well as global distance information, the traditional direct comparison. The proposed approach is compared with the traditional direct comparison method on a multi-PIE database, and the generalisation ability of the proposed method across different features, such as local binary pattern, histogram of oriented gradients and Gabor features, is demonstrated.</P>

        Spatiotemporal Saliency Detection Using Textural Contrast and Its Applications

        <P>Saliency detection has been extensively studied due to its promising contributions for various computer vision applications. However, most existing methods are easily biased toward edges or corners, which are statistically significant, but not necessarily relevant. Moreover, they often fail to find salient regions in complex scenes due to ambiguities between salient regions and highly textured backgrounds. In this paper, we present a novel unified framework for spatiotemporal saliency detection based on textural contrast. Our method is simple and robust, yet biologically plausible; thus, it can be easily extended to various applications, such as image retargeting, object segmentation, and video surveillance. Based on various datasets, we conduct comparative evaluations of 12 representative saliency detection models presented in the literature, and the results show that the proposed scheme outperforms other previously developed methods in detecting salient regions of the static and dynamic scenes.</P>

        Effects of Cellulose Gums on Rheological Interactions in Binary Mixtures of Xanthan Gum and Locust Bean Gum

        The effects of cellulose gums (CG), such as carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC) and hydroxypropyl methylcellulose (HPMC), on the flow and dynamic rheological properties of binary mixtures of xanthan gum (XG) and locust bean gum (LBG) were examined at different XG/LBG/CG mixing ratios (50/50/0, 47.5/47.5/5.0, 45/45/10, and 42.5/42.5/15.0). All XG/LBG/CG ternary mixtures showed high shear-thinning behavior and the flow behavior index values of samples containing HPMC were lower than those of samples containing CMC. An increase in consistency index and apparent viscosity values was observed for ternary gum mixtures containing HPMC, indicating that the flow properties of the XG/LBG binary mixture were affected by the content of HPMC. Storage modulus and loss modulus values of ternary gum mixtures decreased with an increase in CG content from 5 to 15%. The maximum viscoelasticity of XG/LBG/CG mixtures was observed at a mixing ratio of 47.5/47.5/5.0. These findings suggest that the rheological properties of XG/LBG binary mixtures were strongly influenced by the addition of CMC and HPMC.
