Experimental study on reinforced concrete filled circular steel tubular columns
Wei Hua,Hai-Jun Wang,Akira Hasegawa 국제구조공학회 2014 Steel and Composite Structures, An International J Vol.17 No.4
Experimental results of 39 specimens including concrete columns, RC columns, hollow steel tube columns, concrete filled steel tubular (CFT) columns, and reinforced concrete filled steel tubular (RCFT) columns are presented. Based on the experimental results, the load-carrying capacity, confined effect, ductility, and failure mode of test columns are investigated. The effects of the main factors such as width-thickness ratio (the ratio of external diameter and wall thickness for steel tubes), concrete strength, steel tube with or without rib, and arrangement of reinforcing bars on the mechanical characteristics of columns are discussed as well. The differences between CFT and RCFT are compared. As a result, it is thought that strength, rigidity and ductility of RCFT are improved; especially strength and ductility are improved after the peak of load-displacement curve.
Simulated Long-Term Vegetation–Climate Feedbacks in the Tibetan Plateau
Wei Hua,Zouxin Lin,Donglin Guo,Guangzhou Fan,Yongli Zhang,Kaiqin Yang,Qin Hu,Lihua Zhu 한국기상학회 2019 Asia-Pacific Journal of Atmospheric Sciences Vol.55 No.1
The Tibetan Plateau (TP) is an important region of land–atmosphere interactions with high climate variability. In this study, an atmosphere–vegetation interaction model was applied to explore the possible responses of vegetation to climate warming, and to assess the impacts of land cover change on the land surface physical processes across the TP. Results showed that long-term warming over the TP could influence vegetation growth via different mechanisms. Most likely, increased temperature would enhance the physiological activity in most high cold areas on the TP, whereas high temperature would inhibit vegetation growth by increasing respiration in areas with favorable water and temperature conditions. In addition, for areas where the climate is warmer but not wetter, higher temperature could influence photosynthesis via the moisture condition of the vegetation rather than by modulating respiration. Numerical simulations demonstrated that vegetation could control the land surface–atmosphere energy balance effectively. The change of land cover from vegetated land to desert steppe decreased the net radiation absorbed by the surface, weakening the surface thermal effects, and reducing sensible and latent heat fluxes. Furthermore, sensitivity simulations also revealed that global warming would likely accelerate vegetation growth in most areas of the TP, resulting in increased surface heat flux.
Comparative Study of Two Approaches to Automatic Summarization of Arabic Documents
Weihua Gui,Khaled Alwesabi,Abdullah Ayedh 보안공학연구지원센터 2016 International Journal of Hybrid Information Techno Vol.9 No.4
We present an automatic summarization of Arabic texts. In this context, two methods for automatic summarization of Arabic documents are proposed and comparatively analyzed. The first method is based on rhetorical structure theory RST that uses linguistic knowledge. The second method is based on digital learning theory that relies on mathematical rules. Both methods are implemented using the Arabic summarization RST ASRST and Arabic summarization digital learning ASDL systems. Thereafter, results obtained by the two systems are presented and a comparative study between the obtained results is conducted to highlight the advantages and limitations of each method. Evaluation results showed that the numerical approach has better performance than the symbolic approach, particularly when the texts are short. By contrast, the symbolic approach provides better result than the numerical approach when the texts are long.

A compact pulsed high-voltage generator has been developed for applications in pulsed gas discharges. Its operation principle is based on inductive energy storage and it uses a static induction thyristor as the opening switch. It is capable of generating pulsed high voltage of ~15 kV with pulse width of ~200 ns for load resistance of 1 kOmega. This generator can be operated at repetition rate as high as 50 kHz if it is driven directly by 200 V power supply and is cooled by transformer oil. It can also be driven by a 12 V car battery through a chopper circuit, while operating at repetition rate of 2 kHz. In this case, an overall energy efficiency of ~40 % has been obtained.

What Leads to Customer Satisfaction and Repurchase Intention in Taobao.com?
Weihua Wang,Saebum Kim 한국인터넷전자상거래학회 2016 인터넷전자상거래연구 Vol.16 No.2
The purpose of this paper is to investigate the Taobao.com’s consumer behavior and to find out the effects of Taobao.com’s service quality, product factor and price factor on customer satisfaction and repurchase intention. For the purpose we collected and analyzed data via a Web-based questionnaire survey. This paper also investigates the moderating effect of online shopping experience on the way. The results reveal that: first, customer satisfaction positively affects repurchase intention in Taobao.com; second, online shopping experience has a moderating effect on relationship between service and customer satisfaction; service and repurchase intention; and satisfaction and repurchase intention.

An experiment was designed at the curving section of a combustion chamber to study the effects of cooling effectiveness on impingement-reversed convection film cooling with and without pin fins. Numerical simulations were also carried out. The effectiveness of compound cooling increased with the rise in blowing ratio. With regard to the effect of the pin fins, impingement pin fin-reversed convectionfilm cooling was more effective than the method without pin fins, particularly for smaller blowing ratio conditions. The number and arrangement of fin pin rows had a small effect on cooling efficiency under the same blowing ratio value. Simulation results agreed well with experimental data and could be used to optimize basic design.
