Optimized Implementation of Interpolation Filters for HEVC Encoder

In this paper, a fast algorithm of discrete cosine transform-based interpolation filter (DCT-IF) for HEVC (high efficiency video coding) encoder is proposed. DCT-IF filter accounts for around 30% of encoder complexity, according to the computational complexity analysis with the HEVC reference software. In this work, the proposed DCT-IF is optimized by applying frame-level interpolation, SIMD optimization, and task-level parallelization via OpenMP on a developed C-based HEVC encoder. Performance analysis is conducted by measuring speed-up factor of the proposed optimization technique on the developed encoder. The results show that speed-up factors by frame-level interpolation, SIMD, and OpenMP are approximately 38-46, 3.6-4.4, and 3.0-3.7, respectively. In the end, we achieved the speed-up factor of 498.4 with the proposed fast algorithm.

This paper shows vehicle level experimental results of some enablers to reduce fuel pump noise in passenger car. The enablers for noise reduction are considered by reducing of noise source and isolating of structure path. In this paper, the test results show wide frequency area at vehicle interior noise. The test results in this paper can introduce some enablers and present the effectiveness of each enabler.

This study examines the discourse and policy interaction surrounding the Amerasian Homecoming Act of 1987, which facilitated the transpacific migration of Vietnamse "Amerasians"-often mixed-race people of Vietnamese and American parentage-to the United States. Through this immigration act, the United States welcomed "home" Amerasians to resolve the unintended consequences of America's war in Vietnam. This study, thus, contributes to the understanding of the American military abroad and its intrinsic ties with the nation's immigration policies. It also suggests that the opening of its immigration gates for "our children of the enemy," constructed in the nexus of American cold war responsibility and "humanitarian rescue," facilitated the postwar diplomatic normalization between the former cold war foes and rendered an opportunity for Americans to reshape the memory and legacy of the bitter war in Vietnam.

젤(gel) 추진제는 고체 및 액체 추진 시스템의 장점 중 높은 비추력, 저장성, 추력 제어, 비독성, 누설 방지와 같은 특성으로 고성능 추진 시스템에 활용되어 지능형 전략 미사일 또는 발사체의 부스터 및 여러 추진 시스템에 사용될 수 있다. 젤 모사 추진제는 물, Carbopol 941, NaOH 농축액을 혼합하여 제작되었으며, 물과 젤 모사 추진제를 충돌형 인젝터에서 분사시켜 분무 특성을 고찰하였다. 젤 모사 추진제의 충돌 분무에 의해 나타난 긴 액막(liquid sheet)은 강한 상호 분자력에 관련한 중합(polymeric)효과를 나타낸다. 물 분사와 비교했을 때 젤 모사 추진제의 미립화 억제와 난류 천이 지연에 관련된 높은 점도로 인하여 저조한 미립화 특성과 좁은 범위의 분무각을 나타내었다. The implementation of gelled propellants systems offers high performance, thrust-control, energy management of propulsion, storability, and high density impulse of solid propulsion. Present study focused on the spray behavior of liquid sheets formed by impinging jets of non-Newtonian liquids which are mixed by Carbopol 941 0.5%wt. The results are then compared with experiments conducted on spray images formed by impinging jets concerning with air-blast effect at center orifice. When gel propellants are injected by doublet impinging jets at low pressure, closed rim pattern shape appeared. As increasing air mass flow rate(decreasing GLR), spray breakup and atomization phenomenon better improved and spray structure instabilities for the effect of air-blast are also increased.
