Polyaniline nanowires (PANI NWs) were deposited onto fluorine-doped tin oxide (FTO) glass substrate using the cyclic voltammetric method with aniline monomer precursor in HCl aqueous solution. The secondary oxidation peak plays an important role in polymerization of aniline monomer and the optimization of catalytic activity of PANI-based counter electrodes was achieved by controlling the number of cycles. The photovoltaic performance of the dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSCs) with PANI NWs counter electrodes (CEs) was optimized at 4th cycles, and then following parameters were obtained: J<SUB>sc</SUB> = 17.2 mA cm<SUP>-2</SUP>, V<SUB>oc</SUB> = 0.71 V, FF = 59.3%, and efficiency (η) = 7.24%. While, J<SUB>sc</SUB> = 14.7 mA cm<SUP>-2</SUP>, V<SUB>oc</SUB> = 0.77 V, FF = 70.6%, and efficiency (η) = 7.98% in cells with Pt CEs. The PANI NWs were attractive as an alternative CEs for the low-cost DSSCs instead of Pt.

Previous studies on machine-learning (ML) prediction of axial capacity of composite concrete-filled steel tubular (CFST) columns under axial loading relate mainly to only one cross-section shape, meaning that they are limited to only one given application. In this paper, a ML model—namely support vector machine (SVM)—is proposed for the prediction of CFST columns with different cross-section shapes: circular, elliptical, square and rectangular, because they are the most widely used in engineering structures. A database consisting of 1093 tests was gathered from the available literature and used to train and validate the SVM model. The model’s performance was quantified by various performance indicators: coefficient of determination (R2), root mean squared error, mean absolute error, Willmott’s index of agreement, and mean absolute percentage error. Based on the SVM model, sensitivity analysis, influence of different factors, parametric study and comparison with the literature are presented. A graphic user interface of the proposed model was also implemented. The model could be extended to study the effect of other cross-sectional shapes, making for wider applicability.

Various thicknesses of Zn doped-TiO<SUB>2</SUB> blocking layer were investigated for an enhancement of the efficiency of dye sensitized solar cells (DSSCs). The transmittance of the Zn doped-TiO<SUB>2</SUB> layer is higher than that of TiO<SUB>2</SUB> layer, indicating a similar transmittance to bare FTO. The DSSCs with 20nm-thick Zn doped-TiO<SUB>2</SUB> blocking layer showed a conversion efficiency of about 8.92%, which showed a significant improvement compared to that (8.60%) of the TiO<SUB>2</SUB> (20nm) blocking layer and that (7.79%) of the bare FTO.

While there have been numerous papers analyzing the political, economic and social effects of trust, there is little evidence on how social trust has an impact on property rights protection which is fundamental for promoting economic development. This study aims to investigate how trust value is related to property rights protection, focusing on the comparison of the effect on intellectual property rights versus physical property rights. Analyzing the data on property rights protection in 2015 from the Property Right Alliance organization and trust value from the World Value Survey from 1999 to 2014, we find that social trust has a direct effect only on intellectual property rights protection but less consistent on physical property rights protection. However, trust value has indirect effect on both forms of property rights protection via formal institutions. Our study, thus, adds to the literature by clarifying the context through which trust value affects cheating behaviors.

<P>As changing graphene properties is vital to promote it as electronic device, we developed graphene modified method with epoxy group by two simple methods: ultraviolet irradiation with various partial oxygen pressures and ultraviolet irradiation under rich oxygen condition with various temperatures. By Hall measurement, the electric mobility in graphene was decreased with increasing temperature during UV-ozone treatment at 50 degrees C, 80 degrees C, 100 degrees C and 120 degrees C. At low partial oxygen pressure (less than 160 Torr) the oxidation degree is not significant. Additionally, Raman spectroscopy showed the disrupted pi-pi structure in graphene. Based on the above identification we supposed that epoxy group might establish on graphene surface.</P>
