Structural and optical properties of sol gel processed nanopowders of lead doped Y2Ti2O7 pyrochlore

To investigate the annealing temperature and stoichiometry effects, on crystal growth and optical properties of lead dopedyttrium titanate, we prepared the stoichiometric samples:Y2(1-x) Pb2xTi2O7-δ, where x = 0, 10, 20, 30 and 40% (YPTx), using thesol gel method. Phase transformations in the samples were followed by X-ray diffraction (XRD), Raman and UV-Visspectroscopies, and transmission electron microscopy. XRD analysis shows that the undoped sample exhibits the pyrochlorestructure with an unit cell parameter of 10.096 Å, with few traces of the TiO2 rutile phase. Moreover, coexisting Y2Ti2O7,PbTi3O7 and PbTiO3 phases, depending on x(Pb2+), are observed; all these phases are stable in the corresponding range ofPb2+concentration. The reflectance UV-vis spectra show the presence of a fundamental band in pure and doped samples,assigned to the pure phase Y2Ti2O7, and a defect band in YT and YPT10; the latter may be assigned to a Frenkel-pairassociated with cation defects.

In this paper, the nonlocal integral Timoshenko beam model is employed to study the free vibration characteristics of singled walled carbon nanotubes (SWCNTs) including the thermal effect. Based on the nonlocal continuum theory, the governing equations of motion are formulated by considering thermal effect. The influences of small scale parameter, the chirality of SWCNTs, the vibrational mode number, the aspect ratio of SWCNTs and temperature changes on the thermal vibration properties of single-walled nanotubes are examined and discussed. Results indicate significant dependence of natural frequencies on the nonlocal parameter, the temperature change, the aspect ratio and the chirality of SWCNTs. This work should be useful reference for the application and the design of nanoelectronics and nanoelectromechanical devices that make use of the thermal vibration properties of SWCNTs.
RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN THE STRUCTURE OF A FACTOR RING R/P AND DERIVATIONS OF R

The purpose of this paper is to study the relationship between the structure of a factor ring $R/P$ and the behavior of some derivations of $R$. More precisely, we establish a connection between the commutativity of $R/P$ and derivations of $R$ satisfying specific identities involving the prime ideal $P$. Moreover, we provide an example to show that our results cannot be extended to semi-prime ideals.

The principal aim of this paper is to study the connection between the structure of a quotient ring R/P and the behavior of special additive mappings of R. More precisely, we characterize the commutativity of R/P using derivations (generalized derivations) of R satisfying algebraic identities involving the prime ideal P. Furthermore, we provide examples to show that the various restrictions imposed in the hypothesis of our theorems are not superfluous.
발전소와 폐기물 자원화 시설 배출 오염물질 현황 및 처리기술

대기오염물질의 주 배출원인인 발전소 및 폐기물 자원화 시설에서는 다양한 기술에 따라 오염원이 제어되고 있다. 하지만 제도 및 규제와의 상충관계, 기술 간 이해도 등에 따라 여러 문제점이야기되고 있다. 따라서, 본 연구에서는 발전소와 폐기물 자원화 시설의 전반적인 개요 및 현황을 분석하여 설비 운영 시 발생하는 대기오염물질을 조사하여 데이터화 하였다. 발전소의 대기오염물질의경우, 대부분 전력이 석탄화력발전소로부터 생산되기 때문에 최근 조사된 화력 발전소에서의 배출대기오염물질을 조사하였다. 또한 기후변화에 대응하기 위한 탄소중립을 달성하기 위해, 이산화탄소를저감 할 수 있는 이산화탄소 포집 및 활용 저장 기술 (Carbon Capture Utilization and Storage, CCUS) 을 이용하여 폐자원을 활용하는 기술을 제안하였다. 더 나아가, 폐기물 자원화 기술을 통해 생성되는생성물과 오염물질 전환에 따른 부산물의 활용방안을 추가로 제시하였다. 목재 펠릿을 포함한 고형연료, 바이오 에탄올, 바이오 디젤 등이 현 산업에서 현실적으로 상용화될 수 있도록 하는 활용방안을 제시하였으며, CCUS 기술의 산물인 탄산칼슘의 활용처를 제안하였다.
Effect of a Soluble Cocoa Fiber-Enriched Diet in Zucker Fatty Rats

The effects of a soluble cocoa fiber (SCF) were studied in Zucker fatty rats. Two groups of Zucker fatty rats were fed the following diets: standard diet and 5% SCF-enriched diet. A group of Zucker lean rats fed the standard diet was used for results comparison with obese Zucker animals. Solid and liquid intakes, body weight, plasma glucose, lipid profile, and systolic (SBP) and diastolic (DBP) blood pressure were recorded weekly. At the end of the experimental period insulin was determined, and fat apparent digestibility (FAD) and insulin resistance were calculated. The Zucker fatty rats fed 5% SCF-enriched diet showed less weight gain and food intake than those fed the standard diet. The group fed the fiber-enriched diet showed lower values of the total cholesterol/high-density lipoprotein cholesterol ratio and triglyceride levels than the standard group. FAD was also lower in the fiber group. Both SBP and DBP were decreased. In addition, SCF reduced plasma glucose and insulin, and as a consequence the insulin resistance was also decreased. Our data demonstrate that SCF resulted in an improvement of the studied risk factors associated with cardiometabolic disorders.
Metal pollution assessment of surface water from the abandoned Pb mine Zaida, high Moulouya-Morocco

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the metal (As, Cd, Pb, Zn and Cu) pollution of surface water in a mining environment. To achieve this, water samples were taken from the Moulouya River, Ansegmir tributary and Hassan II Dam located downstream of the abandoned Pb mine. Which allowed to conduct a comprehensive physicochemical analysis. The results showed high metal concentrations in most sites. In fact, the levels of arsenic, cadmium, copper and lead are much higher than the specific values set by the World Health Organization for drinking water. While, cadmium exceeds the Moroccan irrigation standards at all studied sites. However, the correlation results showed a high correlation among Cd/As and Cu/Zn, but no correlation recorded between Pb and other metals, which can be explained by the special source of Pb ‘the tailings’.

In Algeria, wastes are often stored in such conditions that do not meet standards. Today and more than ever, we really must implement an environmentally management of wastes. Recovery of waste in Algeria has a considerable delay due to the absence of a policy favorable to the development of waste management. But many researchers have shown the possibility to reuse dredged sediments in road construction. Through Europe, recent research works have been already performed on dam sediments. Present study fits into the context of the valorization of dredged sediments from Fergoug dam. They are found in considerable quantities and mainly composed of mineral phases, organic matters and water. The reservoir sedimentation poses problems for the environment and water storage, dredging becomes necessary. Civil engineering is a common way of recycling for such materials. Dredged sediments have not the required mechanical characteristics recommended by the standards as GTR guide (LCPC-SETRA 1992). So as to obtain mechanical performance, dredged sediment can be treated with cement, lime, or replaced materials like quarry sand. An experimental study has been conducted to determine physical and mechanical characteristics of sediments dredged from dam. Then different mixtures of sediment and/or quarry sand with hydraulic binders are proposed for improving the grain size distribution of the mixes. Finally, according these mixtures, different formulations have been tested as alternative materials with dredged sediments.
Li- and Na-ion Storage Performance of Natural Graphite via Simple Flotation Process

Natural graphite is obtained from an abandoned open-cast mine and purified by a simple, eco-friendly and affordable beneficiation process including ball milling and flotation process. Both raw graphite (55 wt %) and its concentrate (85 wt %) were electrochemically tested in order to evaluate these materials as anode materials for Li-ion and Na-ion batteries. It was found that both raw and purified graphites exhibit good electrochemical activities with respect to lithium and sodium ions through completely different reaction mechanisms. The encouraging results demonstrated in this work suggest that both raw and graphite concentrates after flotation could be used respectively for stationary and embedded applications. This strategy would help in developing local electrical storage systems with a significantly low environmental footprint.
