        A New High-molecular-weight Glutenin Subunit from the Slovak Wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) Cultivar ‘Trebišovská 76’

        Historical and local varieties are an important source of genetic diversity in connection with the wheat baking quality. By analysis of DNA from the coding part of the genome of the Slovak regional wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) variety ‘Trebišovská 76’, differences in the Dy subunit composition coded by locus Glu-1D were found. Comparing the newly found sequence with a generally used 1Dy12 (GenBank accession no. X03041)sequence, existence of a new high-molecular-weight glutenin subunit, which was marked as 1Dy12* (GenBank accession no. EU266533) was confirmed. The molecular weight of probable protein coded by 1Dy12* subunit reaches 72.35kDa comparing to the 1Dy12, which reaches 68.71 kDa. This difference is not likely to distinguish by SDS-PAGE. The easiest way for cereal genotyping according to baking quality is proteomic analysis. More exact and suitable method for genotype identification appears to be marker assisted selection using PCR.

        切花薔薇의 마디 培養時 아미노산의 種類와 濃度가 新梢의 生長에 미치는 影響

        This experiment was carried out to determine the effect of kinds amino acids and concentrations on shoot growth of roses (Rosa hybrida) by nodal culture. The results from this study were summarized as follows ; 1.The addition of proline into culture medium was more effective for subsequent shoot growth in vitro rather than that of casein hydrolysate or glutamine and more leaves were also formed by proline. 2.Subsequent shoot growth and leaf formation both were more stimulated by increase in concentrations of 3 tested amino acids. Among 3 amino acids tested, proline at 500mg /ℓ was determined optimal for subsequent shoot growth. The number of leaves were increased as the concentrations of proline and glutamine were increased. 3.Shoot multiplication was not affected by any type and concentration of amino acids tested in this study.

        Experimental Infection of Different Tomato Genotypes with Tomato mosaic virus Led to a Low Viral Population Heterogeneity in the Capsid Protein Encoding Region

        The complete genome sequence of a Slovak SL-1 isolate of Tomato mosaic virus (ToMV) was determined from the next generation sequencing (NGS) data, further confirming a limited sequence divergence in this tobamovirus species. Tomato genotypes Monalbo, Mobaci and Moperou, respectively carrying the susceptible tm-2 allele or the Tm-1 and Tm-2 resistant alleles, were tested for their susceptibility to ToMV SL- 1. Although the three tomato genotypes accumulated ToMV SL-1 to similar amounts as judged by semiquantitative DAS-ELISA, they showed variations in the rate of infection and symptomatology. Possible differences in the intra-isolate variability and polymorphism between viral populations propagating in these tomato genotypes were evaluated by analysis of the capsid protein (CP) encoding region. Irrespective of genotype infected, the intra-isolate haplotype structure showed the presence of the same highly dominant CP sequence and the low level of population diversity (0.08-0.19%). Our results suggest that ToMV CP encoding sequence is relatively stable in the viral population during its replication in vivo and provides further demonstration that RNA viruses may show high sequence stability, probably as a result of purifying selection.

        포플러를 이용한 활성탄 제조 시스템에 대한 전과정 평가

        식물정화공법(Phytoremediation)은 식물을 이용하여 오염된 토양 또는 폐수의 유해한 오염물질을 흡수, 제거, 안정화,무독화 시키는 기술을 의미하며, 친환경적, 경제적인 오염정화 방안이다. 포플러는 생장이 빠른 속성수종으로써 수분과 양분을 흡수하는 능력이 우수하여 각종 오염물질을 효과적으로 흡수제거하므로, 유기오염물질, 중금속 등 유해물질 제거에 높은효율을 보이고 있다. 본 연구에서는 식물정화공법의 부산물로 발생되는 포플러를 원료로 이용한 활성탄 제조시스템을 대상으로 전과정평가 기법에 의해 환경에 미치는 영향을 분석하고자 하였다. 최적의 탄화 및 활성화 조건에서 이동식 소규모의로터리킬른 회전로를 사용하여 에너지소비를 최소화 하였을 때 환경편익이 가능한 것으로 추정되었다. 시스템경계확장방법을 적용하여 야자각을 원료로 한 활성탄 제조시스템의 환경영향의 회피분석결과 자원고갈을 제외한 환경영향 범주에서 마이너스 효과를 보이므로 잠재적 가능성이 있는 것으로 사료된다. Phytoremediation is a technology to mitigate the pollutant concentrations such as metals, pesticides, solvents, oils, orothers in contaminated water and soils with plants. The plants absorb contaminants through the root and store them in the root,stems, or leaves. Rapid growth trees such as poplar are used to remove low concentrated contaminants eco-friendly and economicallyin a wide contaminated region. This study was practiced to evaluate an activated carbon production system by using poplarwood discarded after phytoremediation. Life cycle assessment methodology was used to analyze environmental impacts of thesystem, and the functional unit was one ton of harvested poplar. It was estimated that the small size rotary kiln for activated carbonproduction from poplar wood had an environmental benefit in optimized conditions to minimize energy consumptions. The resultsof an avoided environmental impact analysis show that the system contribute to reduce environmental impacts in comparison withactivated carbon production from coconut shell.

        폐목재를 이용한 바이오차 생산 및 토양적용의 환경평가

        바이오차(biochar)는 산소가 제한된 환경에서 바이오매스를 열분해를 시켜 얻을 수 있는 고체물질을 말한다. 원료가 되는 바이오매스는 에너지작물, 임업부산물, 농업부산물 등의 폐기물을 사용할 수 있으며, 토양으로 적용 시 기후변화 완화, 화석연료 소비저감, 폐기물 처리비용저감 등의 장점이 있다. 본 연구에서는 폐목재를 원료로 바이오차를 생산하는 시스템을 대상으로 전과정평가 기법에 의해 환경에 미치는 영향을 평가하고자 하였다. 폐목재 1톤을 기능단위로 하였을 때 생산되는 바이오차를 토양에 적용하는 시나리오를 구성하고 지구온난화에 미치는 영향을 중심으로 환경영향을 분석한 결과, 파쇄 및 건조의 전처리 공정에서 4.048E-01 kg, 가스화 열분해공정에서 4.579E-01 kg, 토양살포 공정에서 9.070E-02 kg의 온실가스를 발생하여 총 9.534E-01 kg의 온실가스가 발생하는 것을 확인하였다. 바이오차의 토양적용 시 탄소저장효과는 252 kg으로 분석되어 251 kg의 탄소 네거티브 효과를 보였다. Biochar is a carbon rich solid produced by the pyrolysis of biomass such as energy crops, forestry residues, and wood wastes. Biochar returned to soil is to mitigate climate change and the feedstock of wood wastes reduces fossil fuel consumption as well as disposal costs. This study was practiced to evaluate a biochar system by gasification in terms of global warming regarding the soil application of the produced biochar. Life cycle assessment methodology was used to analyze the environmental impacts of the system, and the functional unit was 1 tonne of wood wastes. The result shows that the biochar system by using wood wastes as feedstock produces 4.048E-01 kgCO₂-eq from the pre-treatment process as chipping and drying, 4.579E-01 kgCO₂-eq from the pyrolysis process, and 9.070E-02 kgCO₂-eq from the spreading to agricultural land, therefore total 9.534E-01 kgCO₂-eq are generated. About 252 kg of CO₂ is still stored in the produced biochar in soil after carbon offsetting of the system. Therefore, the net carbon of the system is -251 kg of CO₂-eq.

      • Engendering Children of the Resistance: Models for Gender and Scouting in China, 1919–1937

        In the 1920s and 1930s, Chinese adapted scouting, which had originally been developed to masculinize British youth as future colonial troops. While Chinese families and teachers valued scouting as a form of outdoor recreation, Chiang Kai-shek and the Guomindang after 1927 connected scouting to preparation for military training. In addition to fostering masculinity among boys, the Chinese Scouting Association also directed Girl Scouts with new models of patriotic girlhood. The Guomindang promoted the distinct femininity of the Girl Scouts and channeled girls’ patriotism into nursing. As China entered World War II, Girl Scouts became significant symbols of patriotism in an increasingly militarized children’s culture. The Guomindang showcased Yang Huimin, a Girl Scout and heroine in the Battle of Sihang Warehouse, as a spokesperson for the Nationalist cause, but it could not fully control her public image.

        지역사회복지실천모델로서 사회적협동조합의 가능성 탐색

        본 연구는 사람들 간의 관계를 토대로 하는 사회복지서비스 영역에서 사회적 배제와의 투쟁 전략으로서 사회적 협동조합의 가능성을 탐색하였다. 사회적 협동조합은 사회복지법인이나 사회적 기업과 더불어 새로운 형태의 사회복지서비스 제공기관일 뿐인가? 사회복지부문은 협동조합의 속성에서 비롯되는 효과를 사회통합의 기제로 기대할 수 있지 않을까? 기존의 사회복지기관은 정부와 이용자 사이의 중간 매체로서 기능했다면, 사회적 협동조합은 지역사회 안에서 다양한 이해당사자와 협동의 관계 속에서 기능을 수행할 수 있지 않을까? 이런 관점에서 지역사회복지실천모델로서 사회적 협동조합의 가능성을 찾아보았다. This study explored feasibility of social cooperatives as a strategy of struggle to social exclusion in the social services area based on the relationships between people. Is social cooperatives on the Fundamental Act on Cooperatives a new type of social welfare service providers comparing the social welfare foundations and social enterprises? Would be expected as social inclusion processes effects arising from the properties of cooperative in social welfare sector? If social welfare institutions function as an intermediate medium between government and users, social cooperatives can be performed function in the community in a variety of cooperative relationships with Multiple stakeholders, e.g. various service providers, care-givers, social workers, and users, etc., conflicting the interests. In this perspective, looked the possibility of social cooperatives as community welfare practice model.
