Introduction of Functional Safety into the Field of Maintenance and Preventive Maintenance
Masami HASEGAWA 제어로봇시스템학회 2009 제어로봇시스템학회 국제학술대회 논문집 Vol.2009 No.8
Ten years have passed since the functional safety standard was issued, and it has extended to a lot of fields including the safety system of the plant. Recently, operation based on a quantitative risk analysis has been required as part of the safety lifecycle also in the field of maintenance and the preventive maintenance. In this paper, it meets the functional safety technology of IEC 61508, and relations of the technology and the theory to the maintenance field are analyzed. At the end introduces how to tackle maintenance in future.
Dose Dependence of the Severity of Radiation-Induced Thymic Lymphoma in Mice
Yeunhwa GU,Masami Shima,Takeo Hasegawa 한국환경성돌연변이발암원학회 2002 한국환경성돌연변이·발암원학회지 Vol.22 No.4
The dose dependence of the severity of radiation-induced thymic lymphoma in C57BL/6J mice was studied. Mice were exposed to fractionated irradiation at the total doses of 4.0, 6.0 and 8.0 Gy (four irradiations at 8-day intervals) starting from 33 days after birth. Pathological and histological changes of each mouse were observed after periodical sacrifice at day 75, 100, 125, 150, 175, 200, 250, 300 after the first irradiation. The severity of cancers were classified into 4 stages by clinical signs with respect to the
enlargement of the thymus, spleen, liver, the progression of the cancer in the thymus, and the metastasis to the spleen, liver, lung and the lymphatic nodes. Among the 490 mice observed, 146 mice had thymic lymphoma. A clear dose-effect relationship was observed as well as the dose-response relationship. Also, periodical observation showed that thymic lymphoma was first induced in mice sacrificed at day 100 (130days old), and metastasize in the order of spleen, lung, liver and then the lymphatic nodes. The results
suggest that radiation may be involved not only as a tumor initiator but also as a tumor promoter, and a tumor progression-enhancing agent.

To determine the effect of Pervian herb medicines which were called Lepidium meyenii Walp and Jatropha macrantha for blood concentration Estradiol-17β, Progesterone and Testosterone and for conception rate and number of fetuses in mice. Forty mice were keeping ten pieces of each cages and four groups and so Lepidium meyenii Walp and Jatropha macrantha were giving instead of water to mice for thirty days. The blood samples were collected at the final day and these samples were measured Estradiol-17β, Progesterone and Testosterone by using Radio Immuno Assay (RIA). The conception rate and number of fetuses studies were mating at the final day for three hours. Then female mice were confirmed the vaginal plug and number of fetuses fifteen days after. Results for Estradiol-17β concentration, J group was shown higher than C group. As for L group, Progesterone concentration showed clearly higher than C group with in comparison (p<0.05). For Testosterone concentration, L group and LJ group were shown clearly higher than C group (p<0.05). Results for conception rate and number of fetuses were as same as Progesterone concentration results. Lepidium meyenii Walp and Jatropha macrantha had the effect to increase for Estradiol-17β, Progesterone and Testosterone of blood concentration and for conception rate and number of fetuses.

Enhancement of Radioprotection and Anti-Tumor Immunity by Yeast-Derived β-Glucan in Mice
Yoshimi Niwano,Yasuyuki Takagi,Takashi Nakamura,Takeo Hasegawa,Ikukatsu Suzuki,Masami Oshima,Hitoshi Tawaraya,Yeun-hwa Gu 한국식품영양과학회 2005 Journal of medicinal food Vol.8 No.2
Intraperitoneal injection of .-glucan was shown to greatly delay mortality in mice exposed to whole-bodyX-ray radiation and tumor growth in tumor-bearing mice. Since the leukocyte and lymphocyte numbers were increased by asingle dose of .-glucan, the radioprotective effect of .-glucan is probably mediated, at least in part, by a hemopoietic actionin irradiated mice. In addition, both natural killer (NK) and lymphokine-activated killer (LAK) activities were significantlyincreased by repeated doses of .-glucan. Augmented immunological activity as seen in increased NK and LAK activity by .-glucan seems to play a role in preventing secondary infections associated with irradiation, and probably contributes to theattenuated tumor growth in tumor-bearing mice through enhanced anti-tumor immunity. These results suggest that .-glucanmay be a promising adjunct treatment for cancer patients receiving radiotherapy.
