Design and Implementation of New Topology for Solar PV Based Transformerless Forward Microinverter

        Premkumar M,Sumithira T.R 대한전기학회 2019 Journal of Electrical Engineering & Technology Vol.14 No.1

Recently, transformerless inverters play a vital role for single phase low voltage solar photovoltaic (PV) due to low cost, lesser weight, small size and high efficiency. However, the leakage current produces electromagnetic interferences (EMI), current distortion on the grid with additional losses which affects the performance of the inverter. In this paper, a new inverter topology, to deal with the problem of leakage current is proposed. The various conventional H6 topologies are simulated, compared and evaluated based on the leakage current, performance and safety with the proposed inverter topology. This work focuses on transformerless inverter which is best suitable for Module Integrated Converter (MIC) or microinverter. The proposed topology is employed with unipolar sinusoidal pulse width modulation, and it can reduce the common mode (CM) current. The performance analysis is carried out on different topologies using MATLAB/Simulink environment and the proposed inverter experimentally verified on a 150W prototype. Based on the analysis, simulation and experimental results, the comparison also presented for future reference.

Multi-objective equilibrium optimizer: framework and development for solving multi-objective optimization problems

        Premkumar M,Jangir Pradeep,Sowmya R,Alhelou Hassan Haes,Mirjalili Seyedali,Kumar B Santhosh 한국CDE학회 2022 Journal of computational design and engineering Vol.9 No.1

This paper proposes a new Multi-Objective Equilibrium Optimizer (MOEO) to handle complex optimization problems, including real-world engineering design optimization problems. The Equilibrium Optimizer (EO) is a recently reported physics-based metaheuristic algorithm, and it has been inspired by the models used to predict equilibrium state and dynamic state. A similar procedure is utilized in MOEO by combining models in a different target search space. The crowding distance mechanism is employed in the MOEO algorithm to balance exploitation and exploration phases as the search progresses. In addition, a non-dominated sorting strategy is also merged with the MOEO algorithm to preserve the population diversity and it has been considered as a crucial problem in multi-objective metaheuristic algorithms. An archive with an update function is used to uphold and improve the coverage of Pareto with optimal solutions. The performance of MOEO is validated for 33 contextual problems with 6 constrained, 12 unconstrained, and 15 practical constrained engineering design problems, including non-linear problems. The result obtained by the proposed MOEO algorithm is compared with other state-of-the-art multi-objective optimization algorithms. The quantitative and qualitative results indicate that the proposed MOEO provides more competitive outcomes than the different algorithms. From the results obtained for all 33 benchmark optimization problems, the efficiency, robustness, and exploration ability to solve multi-objective problems of the MOEO algorithm are well defined and clarified. BLUE-Based Channel Estimation Technique for Amplify and Forward Wireless Relay Networks

        M.PremKumar,V.N.SenthilKumaran,S.J.Thiruvengadam 한국전자통신연구원 2012 ETRI Journal Vol.34 No.4

The best linear unbiased estimator (BLUE) is most suitable for practical application and can be determined with knowledge of only the first and second moments of the probability density function. Although the BLUE is an existing algorithm, it is still largely unexplored and has not yet been applied to channel estimation in amplify and forward (AF)-based wireless relay networks (WRNs). In this paper, a BLUE-based algorithm is proposed to estimate the overall channel impulse response between the source and destination of AF strategy-based WRNs. Theoretical mean square error (MSE) performance for the BLUE is derived to show the accuracy of the proposed channel estimation algorithm. In addition, the Cramér-Rao lower bound (CRLB) is derived to validate the MSE performance. The proposed BLUE channel estimation algorithm approaches the CRLB as the length of the training sequence and number of relays increases. Further, the BLUE performs better than the linear minimum MSE estimator due to the minimum variance characteristic exhibited by the BLUE, which happens to be a function of signal-to-noise ratio.

Exploring 16 years changing dynamics for land use/land cover in Pearl City (Thoothukudi) with spatial technology

        T. Immanuvel David,M. V. Mukesh,S. Kumaravel,G. Ramesh,R. Premkumar 대한공간정보학회 2017 Spatial Information Research Vol.25 No.4

Land use land cover (LU/LC) changes over the period are essential to understand the development of human activities within a region to define the impact of anthropogenic and natural activities. The virtual assessment of LU/LC changes between 2000 and 2016 is carried out in Pearl City (Thoothukudi) using Remote-Sensing data and GIS tool. This change detection is done by 15 m resolution cloud-free Advanced Spaceborne Thermal Emission and Reflection Radiometer data captured during the year 2000 and 2016. The dynamic changes depict the major land use features like settlements, saltpan, crop land, vegetation, barren and water body from satellite data through supervised classifications of a maximum likelihood algorithm. The classified images highlight a series of constructive results in settlement (4.30%), vegetation (4.00%), saltpan (0.24%) and pessimistic results in barren land (-7.68%), crop land (-0.64%) and water body (-0.23%) respectively. The study recommends that urbanization of settlement land usage is highly mobilized in Thoothukudi coastal areas.

      • Neoplastic Transformation Induced by the gep Oncogenes Involves the Scaffold Protein JNK-Interacting Leucine Zipper Protein

        Kashef, Kimia,Radhakrishnan, Rangasudhagar,Lee, Clement M.,Reddy, E. Premkumar,Dhanasekaran, Danny N. Elsevier 2011 Neoplasia Vol.13 No.4

<P>The activated mutants of the 관-subunits of G proteins G(12) and G(13) have been designated as the gep oncogenes owing to their ability to stimulate diverse oncogenic signaling pathways that lead to neoplastic transformation of fibroblast cell lines and tumorigenesis in nude mice models. Studies from our laboratory as well as others have shown that the growth-promoting activities of G관(12) and G관(13) involve potent activation of c-Jun N-terminal kinases (JNKs). Our previous studies have indicated that the JNK-interacting leucine zipper protein (JLP), a scaffold protein involved in the structural and functional organization of the JNK/p38 mitogen-activated protein kinase module, tethers G관(12) and G관(13) to the JNK signaling module. In the present study, in addition to demonstrating the physical association between JLP and G관(12), we show that this interaction is enhanced by the receptor- or mutation-mediated activation of G관(12). We also establish that JLP interacts with G관(12) through the C-terminal domain that has been previously identified to be involved in binding to G관(13). Furthermore, using this C-terminal domain as a competitively inhibitor of JLP that can disrupt G관(12)-JLP interaction, we demonstrate that JLP is required for the stimulation of JNK by G관(12). Our results also indicate that such JLP interaction is required for G관(12) as well as G관(13)-mediated neoplastic transformation of JLP. These studies demonstrate for the first time a functional role for JLP in the gep oncogene-regulated neoplastic signaling pathway.</P>
