The popularity of personal navigation devices and mapping services have made the society utilizes certain locationbased ideas and their applications. With the convenience of using smart phones, it could create an opportunity for the development of mobile location-based service (m-LBS) in order to bring personalized values to the users. Consequently, it leads to a fierce competition among the providers of the m-LBS applications; thus, they have to improve their service qualities in order to fulfill the customers’ needs. This study tried to assess the m-LBS quality using the m-LBS quality scale and combine it with the importance-performance analysis (IPA) model. The m-LBS quality scale has been shown to be statistically reliable and valid for use in measuring the m-LBS quality. However, assessing the service quality per se is considered not sufficient since the service providers have to prioritize the aspects they want to improve. It has to be done since they are constrained by limitations on the resources they have. The IPA model, on the other hand, is regarded as an effective method to find out particular aspects that performed poorly but are highly important. A case study to exhibit the applicability of the proposed method was conducted in one of the biggest motorcycles-based transport services in Indonesia.

In salinity affected areas, variation in salinity level is the major cause of yield fluctuations in rice during the dry season (boro season). To sustain food security in Bangladesh, plant breeders need to develop new rice varieties which are higher yielding, salinity tolerant and stable across different environments. We evaluated the yield performance and stability of 51 rice elite genotypes including two salinity tolerant rice varieties (BRRI dhan67 and BINA dhan-10) and the dominant boro rice variety (BRRI dhan28) in three locations, including a salinity “hotspot”. Best linear unbiased predictions (BLUPs) were used to identify superior genotypes from multi-environment trials. Selection from a large set of candidates is required for evaluation and recommending a new variety for release. Estimated breeding values (EBVs) were used to select parents. Six parents with high EBVs (BR8982-5, IR 87870-6-1-1-1-1-B; BR8943-B-1-2-7, BR8940-B-17-4-7, A69-1 and BR8943-B-5-5-14) would be useful as parents to develop new breeding populations. To evaluate yield performance and stability across environments, we used additive main effects and multiplicative interaction (AMMI) model using a randomized complete block design with two replications. Genotype × environmental analysis was performed using GGE biplot analysis. Based on yield performance and stability, BR8982-5, IR 87870-6-1-1-1-1-B, BR8943-B-1-2-7, BR8940-B-17-4-7, A69-1 and BR8943-B-5-5-14 were promising across the tested environments, as they showed yield advantages over check varieties. The results in this study will be useful for selecting the elite lines suitable for salinity affected areas and parents for rapid breeding of salinity tolerance.

Huge amount of useful information is getting added to the academic digital world everyday, This digitalized information is heterogeneous and remained limited to a local domain only. How to integrate and share this scattered knowledge with simplicity remained a big challenge. In this paper, we propose a prototype of web application for accomplishing above task using web 2.0 features; it makes traditional academic digital libraries to form as a special case of collaborative environment. This application enables users to customize their own resources to form their own virtual digital library. Further users can utilize personalized information of other users working in similar research domain to form true collaborative environment. The model and framework for the new look of academic digital library is presented.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the relative utility and benefits of free-hand 2-dimensional intraoperative ultrasound (FUS) and navigated 3-dimensional intraoperative ultrasound (NUS) as ultrasound-guided biopsy (USGB) techniques for supratentorial lesions. Methods: All patients who underwent USGB for suspected supratentorial tumours from January 2008 to December 2017 were retrospectively analyzed. The charts and electronic medical records of these patients were studied. Demographic, surgical, and pathological variables were collected and analyzed. The study group consisted of patients who underwent either FUS or NUS for biopsy. Results: A total of 125 patients (112 adults and 13 children) underwent USGB during the study period (89 FUS and 36 NUS). NUS was used more often for deep-seated lesions (58% vs. 18% for FUS, P<0.001). The mean operating time for NUS was longer than for FUS (156 minutes vs. 124 minutes, P=0.001). Representative yield was found in 97.7% of biopsies using FUS and in 100% of biopsies using NUS (diagnostic yield, 93.6% and 91.3%, respectively). The majority of lesions (89%) were high-grade gliomas or lymphomas. Postoperative complications were more common in the NUS group (8.3% vs. 1.2%), but were related to the tumour location (deep). Conclusion: Despite the longer operating time and higher rate of postoperative complications, NUS has the benefit of being suitable for biopsies of deep-seated supratentorial lesions, while FUS remains valuable for superficial lesions.
Inhibition of Proliferation of Cervical and Leukemic Cancer Cells by Penicillin G

Cancer, despite all the efforts, still causes one in five deaths worldwide. Surgery, chemotherapy and radiotherapy provide inadequate protection and instead affect normal cells along with cancer cells. The search for cancer cures from natural products (plants and animals) has been practice for over a decade and the use of purified chemical to treat cancer still continues. Several studies have been undertaken during last three decades to find the anti-cancerous property of various plant extract and toxins secreted by animals and micro-organism. These lead to the discovery of several promising molecule having anticancer activity, some of which are in clinical trial and may emerged to be a potential future drug in cancer therapy. In this study we have used penicillin to evaluate its anti-cancer activity. It shown significant effects at cellular and molecular levels against growth of HeLa and K562 cell lines.

The goal of the research is to identify the relationship between organizational justice, job satisfaction, and work attitudes in the context of job rotation. The competence and loyalty of the employees of an organization are critical to the organization’s success. Therefore, organization should invest in developing their employees, including creating effective procedures and human resource management policies. A job rotation program is one of the critical policies in developing employees, as through this program employees can develop and actualize their abilities. However, there are some challenges in practice regarding implementing the procedures of job rotation. One of the challenges is related to the concept of organizational justice, which then impacts on employees’ job satisfaction and work attitudes. This study was conducted in focused group discussions. The sample is 272 of a state-owned organization. In this study, the concept of organizational justice, with the dimensions of distributive justice, procedural justice, and interactional justice, were used along with the discussion of job satisfaction and other work attitudes. The results were issues of fairness in perceiving organizational justice in the job rotation context, and the most significant response lies in procedural justice.

Abstract

Platinum nanoparticles were in situ synthesized onto hybrid support involving graphene and single walled carbon nanotube in aqueous solution. We investigate the reduction of graphene oxide, and platinum nanoparticle functionalization on hybrid support by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, Raman spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy and transmission electron microscopy. The as-prepared platinum on hybrid support was used directly as a catalyst ink without further treatment and is active toward methanol oxidation. This work realizes both scalable and greener production of highly efficient hybrid catalysts, and would be valuable for practical applications of graphene based fuel cell catalysts.

Highlights

Pt NPs were in situ synthesized onto CNT–graphene support in aqueous solution.

The as-prepared material was used directly as a catalyst ink without further treatment.

Catalyst ink is active toward methanol oxidation.

This approach realizes both scalable and greener production of hybrid catalysts.

Graphical abstract

[DISPLAY OMISSION]
