Microalgae have survival strategies that are acclimated in various environmental stress factors such as salinity, heavy metal and radionuclide effluence. This study was identified the resistance of cesium chloride in various microalgae and selected acclimation organisms. The selected organisms were measured growth curve by spectrophotometer. The minimum ion condition of microalgae culture using LED light was determined by the growth curve and pH.
Recent NMR developments for pharmaceutical research
Lee, Kwanghwan 한국자기공명학회 2016 Journal of the Korean Magnetic Resonance Society Vol.20 No.1
NMR spectrometer has been regarded as essential tool for structure elucidation in variable scientific field as like organic synthesis, natural product and macro protein research. Also NMR can be applied for defining dynamic behavior like ligand and receptor binding. One of advantage of research with NMR is that to be great confident to confirm structure and the measured sample could be recovered. Nevertheless NMR also has a weak points than other spectroscopic methods that require a lot of time for interpreting acquired spectrum and running time due to low sensitivity. For last two decade Bruker has developed hardware and software solution for overcome those weak points. In order to overcome low sensitivity Bruker introduced Cryo and Micro diameter probe head technology. And researcher can reduce the time for routine spectrum processing and interpretation works due to lots of introductions in software solutions for quantification, identification and statistics analysis. With four examples, this article describing those new hardware and software solutions in field of recent pharmaceutical research as follows. - New Horizons for NMR in the Biopharmaceutical Industry - The development and application of solid-state NMR spectroscopy (SSNMR) in pharmaceutical analysis - Assisted NMR Data Interpretation in Synthetic Chemistry - Complete Analysis of New Psychoactive Substances Using NMR.
A New Strategy for Condition Monitoring of Adjustable Speed Induction Machine Drive Systems
Sang Bin Lee,Jinkyu Yang,Jongman Hong,Ji-Yoon Yoo,Byunghwan Kim,Kwanghwan Lee,Jangho Yun,Myungchul Kim,Kwang-Woon Lee,Wiedenbrug, E J,Nandi, S IEEE 2011 IEEE transactions on power electronics Vol.26 No.2

A new strategy for monitoring the condition of adjustable speed induction machine drive systems is presented in this paper. The main concept of the new method is to use the inverter to perform off-line tests for quality assessment of the vulnerable components in the inverter, cable, and induction motor automatically whenever the motor is stopped. This new approach is suitable for monitoring system components that deteriorate gradually to failure, if the degradation is observable. Off-line test methods for monitoring the quality of the 1) dc-link aluminum electrolytic capacitor; 2) electrical connections; 3) cable and stator winding insulation; 4) stator core; and 5) rotor bar are presented along with a summary of the failure mechanism and existing test methods. It will be shown that the new strategy can be implemented with minimal hardware requirements, and that it has many advantages over existing off-line and on-line tests. An experimental study performed under simulated fault conditions for each component shows that the method provides a reliable and sensitive indication of drive system problems for reliable, efficient, and safe operation.

This study describes the epidemiological characteristics of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) based on reported cases from long-term care facilities. As of April 20th, 2020, 3 long-term care facilities in a metropolitan area of South Korea had reported cases of COVID-19. These facilities’ employees were presumed to be the sources of infection. There were 2 nursing hospitals that did not report any additional cases. One nursing home had a total of 25 cases, with an attack rate of 51.4% (95% CI 35.6–67.0), and a fatality rate of 38.9% (95% CI 20.3–61.4) among residents. The results from this study suggest that early detection and maintenance of infection control minimizes the risk of rapid transmission.

This study was intended to search the ways corresponding to the necessity of medical service for the elderly rationally and effectively. The subjects were 444 doctors and nurses of A university hospital in Daejeon and surveyed from Apr. 20 through May 30, 2003. The result is as follows: 1. 270(60.8%) respondents answered that they have much experiences in treating and nursing the elderly, and 174(39.2%) respondents answered that they have no experience or little experience. 2. 431(97.05%) respondents answered that geriatrics hospitals need to be established, and 318 nurses(99.0%) and 113 doctors(91.9%) answered that they need to be established. This means that geriatrics hospitals must be established. 3. 425(95.7%) respondents answered that the geriatricians should be trained, and 19(4.3%) respondents answered that they need not. 4. 335(76.1%) respondents answered that the special apart for the elderly must be make at the existing hospital, and 26(5.9%) respondents answered that it need not. 5. 396(89.2%) respondents answered that economical burden on nursing fee are heavy, and 48(10.8%) respondents answered that it's less. This means that nursing fee imposed a burden on the patients' families. Most of the elderly have been treated and nursed at the existing general hospital without considering the characteristics of the infirmities of age because of the insufficiency of geriatrics hospitals and geriatricians. The increasing of medical fee by the elderly patients' long-term hospitalization reduces the opportunity to use medical service from the elderly. Therefore, the geriatrics hospitals should be continuously extended, and geriatricians should be trained. Also, the special apart for the elderly should be established at the existing hospital. When the medical fee for the elderly is appropriated by tax and the resource of local government, the problems of the medical welfare for the elderly in an aging society could be solved.

Background: Asthma is a chronic inflammatory disease of the airway, and many asthma patients rely on regular use of inhaled medications to temporarily control their symptoms, causing significant burden for patients. Acupotomy treatment has been applied to asthma in clinical practice. However, there have been no reported studies on its effectiveness. Therefore, we report the outcomes obtained by applying acupotomy to an asthma patient. Objective: The aim of this study is to make report the effect of acupotomy for bronchial asthma. Methods: The patient was given treatment with Korean medicine therapy, including acupotomy and herbal therapy. The effect of treatment was assessed by NRS and frequency of inhaled steroid use. Results: NRS was decreased from 10 to 4 after only 2 sessions of acupotomy treatment. The inhaled steroids were immediately discontinued after the initial treatment without subsequent use. Conclusion: This report suggests that acupotomy could be effective in improving cough symptom of bronchial asthma and following cough symptoms.
