      • Optimized QCA SRAM cell and array in nanoscale based on multiplexer with energy and cost analysis

        Moein Kianpour,Reza Sabbaghi-Nadooshan,Majid Mohammadi,Behzad Ebrahimi Techno-Press 2023 Advances in nano research Vol.15 No.6

Quantum-dot cellular automata (QCA) has shown great potential in the nanoscale regime as a replacement for CMOS technology. This work presents a specific approach to static random-access memory (SRAM) cell based on 2:1 multiplexer, 4-bit SRAM array, and 32-bit SRAM array in QCA. By utilizing the proposed SRAM array, a single-layer 16×32-bit SRAM with the read/write capability is presented using an optimized signal distribution network (SDN) crossover technique. In the present study, an extremely-optimized 2:1 multiplexer is proposed, which is used to implement an extremely-optimized SRAM cell. The results of simulation show the superiority of the proposed 2:1 multiplexer and SRAM cell. This study also provides a more efficient and accurate method for calculating QCA costs. The proposed extremely-optimized SRAM cell and SRAM arrays are advantageous in terms of complexity, delay, area, and QCA cost parameters in comparison with previous designs in QCA, CMOS, and FinFET technologies. Moreover, compared to previous designs in QCA and FinFET technologies, the proposed structure saves total energy consisting of overall energy consumption, switching energy dissipation, and leakage energy dissipation. The energy and structural analyses of the proposed scheme are performed in QCAPro and QCADesigner 2.0.3 tools. According to the simulation results and comparison with previous high-quality studies based on QCA and FinFET design approaches, the proposed SRAM reduces the overall energy consumption by 25%, occupies 33% smaller area, and requires 15% fewer cells. Moreover, the QCA cost is reduced by 35% compared to outstanding designs in the literature.

Effect of DNA Vaccination with Retroviral Vector Expressing nfa1 Gene in Naegleria fowleri Infection

        강창근,kianpour mehrnoosh,홍일화,손혜진,신호준,김종현 경상대학교 농업생명과학연구원 2017 농업생명과학연구 Vol.51 No.6

Naegleria fowleri is pathogenic free-living amoeba leading to primary amoebicmeningoencephalitis(PAM) in human and animals. The nfa1 gene cloned from N. fowleri islocated on food-cup structure called pseudopodia and function an adherence of host targetcells. To evaluate the effect of nfa1 vaccination against N. fowleri infection, we constructedretroviral vector(pQCXIN) expressing nfa1 gene. To determine the effect of vaccination andprotective immunity in in vivo models, we measured the immunoglobulin levels, cytokineinduction, and survival rate in mice infected with N. fowleri. Both levels of IgG and IgGsubclass in DNA vaccinated mice were significantly elevated. The cytokine analysis showthat DNA vaccinated mice induces production of IL-4 and IFN-γcytokines suggesting aTh1/Th2 mixed type immune response. The levels of nfa1 specific IgG antibody weremaintained highly until 12 weeks post-vaccination in vaccinted mice. The nfa1 vaccinatedmice using retroviral vector increased significantly survival rate(60%) after N. fowleri infection. Consequently, the nfa1 vaccination effectively induces protective immunity by upregulation ofimmune response in mice infected with N. fowleri. These results suggest that DNAvaccination using retroviral vector may be proper trial for treatment and prevention of PAM.

Immobilization of L-Lysine on Zeolite 4A as an Organic-Inorganic Composite Basic Catalyst for Synthesis of α,β-Unsaturated Carbonyl Compounds under Mild Conditions

Zamani, Farzad,Rezapour, Mehdi,Kianpour, Sahar Korean Chemical Society 2013 Bulletin of the Korean Chemical Society Vol.34 No.8

Lysine (Lys) immobilized on zeolite 4A was prepared by a simple adsorption method. The physical and chemical properties of Lys/zeolite 4A were investigated by X-ray diffraction (XRD), FT-IR, Brunauer-Emmett-Teller (BET), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and UV-vis. The obtained organic-inorganic composite was effectively employed as a heterogeneous basic catalyst for synthesis of ${\alpha},{\beta}$-unsaturated carbonyl compounds. No by-product formation, high yields, short reaction times, mild reaction conditions, operational simplicity with reusability of the catalyst are the salient features of the present catalyst.

      • Comparing Recurrence and Complications After Laparoscopy and Laparotomy Surgery among Patients Suffering from Colorectal Cancer, Shiraz, Iran

Ghaem, Haleh,Amiri, Zahra,Kianpour, Fatemeh,Rezaianzadeh, Abbas,Hosseini, Seyed Vahid,Khazraei, Hajar Asian Pacific Journal of Cancer Prevention 2016 Asian Pacific journal of cancer prevention Vol.17 No.7

Background: The goal of this study was to compare the rate of recurrence and occurrence of complications in colorectal cancer patients after two kinds of laparoscopy and laparotomy. Materials and Methods: A follow-up study was carried out among 358 patients who suffered from colorectal cancer from 2012-2014. The data were gathered from colorectal research center in Shiraz, Shahid Faghihi hospital, and analyzed using the chi-square test, logistic regression, and multinomial regression. Results: The average age of these patients was $56.3{\pm}14.6$, 55.0% being men. Moreover, 57.8% of them underwent laparoscopy surgery and 42.2% of the patients underwent laparotomysurgery and the conversion rate was 58.0% which ultimately was put under the category of laparotomy surgery. After biennial median follow-up, differences in the occurrence of complications such as bleeding (hemorrhage), fever, intestine blockage and wound infection in these two kinds of surgery werestatistically significant (P<0.05). However, the rate of recurrence and the patients' ultimate status (alive without disease, alive with disease, and death) did not significantly differ between these two surgery groups. Conclusions: Post-operation complications were laparoscopy surgery were less than those in laparotomy. However, the outcomes such as patients' ultimate status and recurrence were similar between the two groups.
