Upper gastrointestinal bleeding is common and potentially life threatening medical emergency. Emergency endoscopy is the first choice of diagnostic and treatment measure for patients with active upper gastrointestinal bleeding. Histoacryl should be considered a second-line treatment modality when conventional treatments were failed. However, it might cause several complications. Herein, we report a case of acute pancreatitis developed after histoacryl injection therapy for active duodenal ulcer bleeding. A 71-year-old man was admitted with melena and hematemesis. On emergency endoscopy, a 2 cm sized active ulcer with bleeding from an exposedvessel was seen at the duodenal bulb. Attempts to arrest the bleeding with hemoclipping and submucosal epinephrine injection were tried, but failed. We changed the method to endoscopic histoacryl injection, and obtained hemostasis immediately. A few hourslater, after successful hemostasis, patient complained diffuse abdominal pain. Ultrasonography revealed hyperechoic heterogenous diffuse pancreatic enlargement and right pararenal space fluid collection, this ultrasonographic findings and elevated serum pancreatic enzymes are compatible with acute pancreatitis.

Gastritis cystica profunda (GCP) is a disease characterized by hyperplastic and significant extension of cystic dilatation of the gastric mucous glands, which results in a cystic lesion in gastric submucosa. It often occurs on the part of gastroenterostomy, but can be found in the stomach without any previous surgery. GCP has variable gross finding including solitary polyps, diffuse ones, submucosal tumors, and rare giant gastric mucosal fold. It is difficult to tell GCP from a cancerous lesion by gross finding that the disease demands a necessary tissue biopsy, though GCP is commonly showed as a benign in the progress. We report a case of GCP in polypoid types diagnosed by endoscopic polypectomy.

Gastric angiodysplasia is vascular ectasia in mucosa and submucosa of the gastric wall. It is an uncommon cause of upper gastrointesinal hemorrhage that may occur in the stomach or duodenum. There are many kinds of endoscopic treatments, such as argon plasma coagulation, electrocoagulation, heat probe, and submucosal injection of hypertonic saline mixed with epinephrine for gastric angiodysplasia. However, these treatment methods are associated with high rate of rebleeding. In order to avoid the recurrence, endoscopic band ligation has recently been used as an alternative method for endoscopic treatment of gastric angiodysplasia. We encountered a case of gastric angiodysplasia that presented with overt bleeding and anemia, and was successfully treated with endoscopic band ligation.

This study compared the event-related potential(ERP) patterns induced by magnetic field of various intensities and frequencies. The magnetic tactile stimuli of three intensities(Lev1, 2, 3) and four frequencies(10, 20, 30, 50Hz) were presented to the center of right hand palm of 19 adult male (22.9±2.28 years). Each intensity setted to the distance between the center of palm and the electromagnetic coil where the magnetic field is generated, each setting is Lev1 = 3cm, Lev2 = 2cm, Lev3 = 1cm. The experiment design consists of stimulation phase(0.1s) and rest phase(20s). Each parameter(3 intensities x 4 frequency) stimulation presented in counterbalanced 30 times. ERP analysis was performed using C3 channel data from electroencephalogram(EEG) to elicit the representation of somatosensory area. In result, The ERP components that showed the significant difference in intensities and frequencies were ‘Max peak(P300-base)’(p<.001, p=.035) and ’peak-topeak( P300-N100)’(p<.001, p=.005). Therefore, amplitude of both component increased with increasing intensity and frequency. The result shows that the magnetic tactile stimulation, which is one of the non-contact stimuli, can induce tactile stimulation such as general mechanical tactile stimuli such as vibration and pressure.
Effect of Sub- and Super-critical Water Treatment on Physicochemical Properties of Porcine Skin

Super- and sub-critical water treatments have been of interest as novel methods for protein hydrolysis. In the present study, we studied the effect of sub-critical water (Sub-$H_2O$, $300^{\circ}C$, 80 bar) treatment as well as super-critical water (Super-$H_2O$, $400^{\circ}C$, 280 bar) treatment on the physicochemical properties of porcine skin (PS), which has abundant collagen. Porcine skin was subjected to pre-thermal treatment by immersion in water at $70^{\circ}C$, and then treated with sub- or super-critical water. Physicochemical properties of the hydrolysates, such as molecular weight distribution, free amino acid content, amino acid profile, pH, color, and water content were determined. For the molecular weight distribution analysis, 1 kDa hydrolyzed porcine skin (H-PS) was produced by Super-$H_2O$ or Sub-$H_2O$ treatment. The free amino acid content was 57.18 mM and 30.13 mM after Sub-$H_2O$ and Super-$H_2O$ treatment, respectively. Determination of amino acid profile revealed that the content of Glu (22.5%) and Pro (30%) was higher after Super-$H_2O$ treatment than after Sub-$H_2O$ treatment, whereas the content of Gly (28%) and Ala (13.1%) was higher after Sub-$H_2O$ treatment. Super-$H_2O$ or Sub-$H_2O$ treatment affected the pH of PS, which changed from 7.29 (Raw) to 9.22 (after Sub-$H_2O$ treatment) and 9.49 (after Super-$H_2O$ treatment). Taken together, these results showed that Sub-$H_2O$ treatment was slightly more effective for hydrolysis than Super-$H_2O$ was. However, both Sub-$H_2O$ and Super-$H_2O$ treatments were effective processing methods for hydrolysis of PS collagen in a short time and can be regarded as a green chemistry technology.

Background: The aim of this study was to evaluate the characteristics of advanced colorectal neoplasias in asymptomatic subjects with positive fecal immunochemical test(fiT) Methods: A total of 378 subjects who have undergone colonoscopy were enrolled as fiT positive group. In addition, a total of 378, age-sex matched subjects with negative fiT who have undergone colonoscopy were recruited as well as a control group. Results: Among a total of 756 subjects, 350 subjects had one or more adenomas. On per polyp analysis, a total of 783 colorectal neoplasias were found in both group (448 in fiT (-) vs. 335 in fiT (+), p=0.022). Cancers, HAA and large adenomas more than 10 mm in size were more frequently found in fiT positive group (figure 1). Interestingly, among adenomas more than 10 mm in size, adenomas with advanced histology including HGD or cancer were equally found in both groups (41.4% in fiT (-) vs. 48.9% in fiT (+), p=0.527). However, adenomas less than 9 mm in size with advanced histology including HGD or cancer were signifi cantly more frequent in fiT positive group than those in fiT negative group (7.6% vs. 0.7%, p<0.001, respectively). The site specifi c performance of fiT (right vs. left) for detecting AAs was not different between both groups (p=0.079). Conclusions: Compared to those with fiT negative, asymptomatic subjects with fiT positive on colorectal cancer screening showed similar non-advanced adenomas but higher advanced histologies even a small sized lesion. These results suggest the necessity of more rapid and complete resection for lesion found in asymptomatic subjects with fiT positive lesion. Development of FPGA-based deep learning orthosis actuating system using bio signal data

Recently, many health care applications for rehabilitation are used to developed with various technologies for treatment and assistance. And these technologies are mainly applied to purpose with improve the essential activities for human life. In this study, we develop the 3D-printed hand orthosis for patients who has low motor function from the spinal cord injury (SCI) or stroke, and build the hand motion actuating system with Field-Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) using Electroencephalogram (EEG) and Electromyogram (EMG). Our system applied the custom 2D-CNN deep learning algorithm for the higher motion accuracy, real-time motion actuating. And we conducted experiment to investigate the characteristics of each seven gesture in EEG and EMG with seven healthy subjects. In experiment, subject do the gesture as same as showing in screen, then the system acquired the bio signals and analysis in same time. In further, to evaluate the system, we’ll verifying the motor function improvement through experiment to actual patients with orthosis. And also compare the performance with other on-chip programmable device.
