Financial sectors, like other sectors with strict hierarchies, need help to be adaptive or agile enough to satisfy the needs of competitive situations. In this regard, this study aims to evaluate the influence of job satisfaction on the link between job empowerment practices and the agility of human resources and fills the gaps in the current literature. To fulfill these aims, the study employs data collected through a survey of 460 employees randomly selected across various levels of commercial banking. AMOS 25 was used to conduct a statistical data analysis by applying structural equation modelling to test the hypotheses. The findings revealed positive and direct associations between job empowerment practices, job satisfaction, and the agility of human resources. In addition, employee satisfaction served as a powerful intermediary between empowerment practices and the agility of human resources. This study is one of the first to analyze the association between these factors in this field. These results imply that banks should develop effective job empowerment strategies to increase employee job satisfaction, which can lead to a more agile workforce. As mentioned in this paper, it also has important and helpful implications for academics and banks.

The contrast (fish body to medium ratio) of density and sound speed were measured to estimate acoustic scattering from small juvenile cod (Gadus macrocephalus) with the Kirchhoff-Ray Mode backscatter model. The density contrast was measured by the density-bottle method and the sound speed contrast was estimated by the time of flight method. The results revealed that the measured density contrasts of juvenile cod varied between 1.003 and 1.029 (mean = 1.014, S.D. = 0.01). On the other hand, sound speed contrasts varied between 1.039 and 1.041 (mean = 1.041, S.D. = 0.001). The relationship between averaged target strength (TS) and total length (TL) established by the model were <$TS_{38kHz}$> = 20log(TL) - 68.8 and <$TS_{38kHz}$> = 20log(TL) - 69.4, respectively.

This study was conducted to determine the influence of Sargassum hystrix powder (SHP) as an alternative source of functional food for treating in vivo stress by measuring levels of glucose, triacylglycerol, total cholesterol, and cortisol, and liver histopathology. Wistar rats aged 3 months and weighing 150∼200 g were divided into 7 groups: normal control, fasting control, negative control (stress without adaptogen), and 4 experimental conditions (stress+0.18 ㎎/㎏ diazepam, stress+450 ㎎/㎏ pellet, stress+mixture of pellet with SHP 450 ㎎/㎏, and stress+450 ㎎/㎏ of SHP). Intake of liquids and and body weight were measured daily. Blood samples were collected on day 0 (baseline), day 5, and day 10 to analyze levels of glucose, triacylglycerol, cholesterol, and cortisol. On day 10, rats were euthanized and livers were collected to observe the severity of inflammation. The results indicated that rats receiving SHP 450 ㎎/㎏ and the mixture of pellet with SHP 450 ㎎/㎏ showed a similar ability as those receiving diazepam 0.18 ㎎/㎏ to cope with stress, indicated by an improvement in all blood biochemistry parameters. Supplementation with SHP 450 ㎎/㎏ can be used as an alternative source of functional food for overcoming oxidative stress, as indicated by its ability to improve levels of blood glucose, triacylglycerol, total cholesterol, and cortisol, and to improve liver histology by decreasing severity of liver inflammation.

Water and 70% ethanol extracts obtained from a sea cucumber (Stichopus japonicus) body wall by heat reflux or pressurized solvent extraction showed 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH˙) and 2,2’-azino-bis(3-ethylbenzothiazoline-6-sulfonic acid) radical cation (ABTS˙?) scavenging activities comparable to those of fruits and vegetables. The highest activities were observed for the water extract from heat reflux extraction. Crude saponins exhibited higher radical scavenging activities than the soluble matters in the extracts. However, they were responsible for only about 3 to 15% of the scavenging activities of the extracts. Total phenolic contents showed a significant correlation with DPPH˙ scavenging activities, suggesting a significant contribution of phenolic constituents to the antioxidant properties of the extracts. However, total flavonoid contents showed little correlation with the radical scavenging activities. The results suggest that the water or 70% ethanol extract obtained from sea cucumber body wall by simple heat reflux extraction could provide considerable antioxidant benefits.
The Impact of Executive Compensation, Ownership, and Capital Requirement on Earning Management
Tafdil HUSNI,Rida RAHIM,Nadya Ade WIRANDA,Rizki Fadhel D 한국유통과학회 2021 The Journal of Asian Finance, Economics and Busine Vol.8 No.6
Earnings management is the use of accounting techniques to produce financial statements that present an overly positive view of a company’s business activities and financial position. This study aims to find out the impact of executive cash compensation, ownership, and capital requirement (CR) on earnings management in Indonesian banks. This study uses panel data from banks whose shares are listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange for 2013–2019 involving 30 banks with a total of 210 observations. Data was analyzed using the least square random impact regression and the Hausman test. The results showed executive cash compensation had a positive impact on discretionary accruals. Then, institutional ownership has a negative impact and CR had a positive impact on discretionary accruals. The findings in this research highlight that institutional ownership can reduce the level of discretionary accruals, but not managerial ownership. As a practical contribution, this finding proves the executive cash compensation can lead to earnings management. Thus, this research is useful in banks’ decision-making regarding the treatment of executive cash compensation to CEOs or directors, especially for banks with most institutional ownership. This finding is also useful for regulators in determining the minimum limit of capital requirement ratio to minimize unhealthy or problematic banks.

Bacillus pumilus is the causal agent of trunk bulges dis- ease affecting rubber and rubberwood quality and yield production. In this study, B. pumilus and other closely related species were included in B. pumilus group, as they shared over 99.5% similarity from 16S rRNA analysis. Multilocus sequence analysis (MLSA) of five housekeeping genes and repetitive elements-based poly- merase chain reaction (rep-PCR) using REP, ERIC, and BOX primers conducted to analyze the diversity and systematic relationships of 20 isolates of B. pumilus group from four rubber tree plantations in Peninsular Malaysia (Serdang, Tanah Merah, Baling, and Rawa- ng). Multi rep-PCR results revealed the genetic profil- ing among the B. pumilus group isolates, while MLSA results showed 98-100% similarity across the 20 isolates of B. pumilus group species. These 20 isolates, formerly established as B. pumilus, were found not to be grouped with B. pumilus. However, being distributed within dis- tinctive groups of the B. pumilus group comprising of two clusters, A and B. Cluster A contained of 17 isolates close to B. altitudinis, whereas Cluster B consisted of three isolates attributed to B. safensis. This is the first MLSA and rep-PCR study on B. pumilus group, which provides an in-depth understanding of the diversity of these rubber-pathogenic isolates in Malaysia.
EFFECTS OF CHOICE FEEDING ON THE PERFORMANCE OF VILLAGE CHICKEN AFTER THE PEAK OF EGG PRODUCTION
Ramlah, A.H.,Mohd-Husni, H.,Sarinah, A.H. Asian Australasian Association of Animal Productio 1994 Animal Bioscience Vol.7 No.3
An experiment was carried out with village chicken at the laying stage raised on the semi-intensive system on three feeding treatments with each of 30 birds replicated three times. The three feeding treatments were: layer mash only, layer mash and corn as choices and choices of a high protein concentrate and corn. Feed and protein intake was significantly higher for birds on the layer mash and lower for birds on the choices of a high protein and corn diet. There was no differences in egg production for the birds fed the layer mash either alone or a choice with corn but lower for the birds on the choices of a high protein feed and corn. There was no differences in egg weight and gross efficiency for all treatments. The practice of choice feeding layer mash and corn could be adopted by farmers rearing village chicken under the semi-intensive system due to the lower cost.
