        Synthesis of optically active chiral mesoporous molybdenum carbide film

        A chiral nematic mesoporous molybdenum carbidefilm (CN-Mo2C) was fabricated through the selfassemblyof cellulose nanocrystal with peroxomolybdate. CN-Mo2C exhibits a tunable chiral nematicstructure by varying the ratio of constituents, enabling a surface area of 210 m2 g 1. Importantly, it showsa typical chiroptical feature through polarized optical microscopy and circular dichroism spectralanalysis. As it has an excellent conductivity of 2.410 2 S cm 1, we try to use CN-Mo2C in theelectrocatalytic HER production, presenting an efficient H2 production capacity. It is a versatile syntheticstrategy that can conveniently enable other large-area macroscopic chiral metal-based materials.

      • An Optimized Third Harmonic Injection Method for Three-Phase Cascaded H-Bridge Photovoltaic Inverter

        The uneven irradiation and temperature in photovoltaic (PV) modules of three-phase cascaded H-bridge (CHB) inverters will cause the unbalanced output power between solar panels, resulting in unbalanced grid current between three phases. In addition, since each phase can be regarded as a single-phase inverter, the second harmonic voltage pulsation of dc-side capacitors is a problem to be solved. To solve these two problems, a third harmonic injection optimization method on the basis of fundamental frequency zero sequence is proposed in this paper. The third harmonic with the same amplitude of fundamental modulated wave signal is injected into the modulated wave signal when the amplitude of synthesized wave signal is no greater than unity. Otherwise, the amplitude of third harmonic is decreased correspondingly to ensure the amplitude of synthesized wave signal being unity. With this method, the dc-side voltage pulsation is effectively restrained and the power balancing limit of CHB inverter is expanded. The feasibility and effectiveness of this method are verified by an experimental prototype of a three-phase seven-level CHB inverter.

        Deformation Behavior of the Mg–Zn–Ca–Ce Alloy Sheets Subjected to Uniaxial and Biaxial Tensile Tests

        The uniaxial tensile test and Erichsen test are performed on the different deformation behavior under different stress states. The materials used in this paper had obvious anisotropy in the rolling plane because of the bimodal textures along the transversedirection. However, the Mg alloy with the weakest texture distribution did not get the better plasticity and formability,which was related to the enhanced grain boundary cohesion by more Zn addition. The rate of dislocations storage was independentof load direction for a given Mg alloy, even if Mg alloy has large in-plane anisotropy at lower stress levels. Therewas something different from the work hardening behavior in stage III between the ZXE0500 alloy and ZXE1500 alloy inthree load directions because of the dynamic recovery. Tension twin is easier to be activated on ZXE1500 alloy rather thanZXE0500 alloy. Because the crack edge of samples used for the Erichsen test went through non-equal biaxial tensile stress,and the strain in the radial direction was much larger than that of the circumferential direction, so the texture evolution wassimilar to the uniaxial tensile stress.

      • Numerator-Denominator Model Based H<SUB>∞</SUB> Robust Control for LCL Filter-Based Grid-Connected Inverters under Weak Grid Conditions

        In the grid-connected inverter controller system, conventional PI or PR controller decrease their lowfrequency gain and bandwidth to maintain the stability of the system. However, this degrades the disturbance rejection and current tracking capability. To solve this problem, this paper gives an H∞ robust control scheme based on Numerator Denominator Model method, which has the advantages of simplified current controller design procedure, can place the poles of closed-loop system at the desired place. By properly selecting the weight function, the proposed control scheme can not only achieve good robustness in disturbance rejection capability, but also gives a straight forward to design the dynamic performance. Simulation and experimental comparison results between PR and H∞ controller is demonstrated. The results prove that the proposed control scheme shows obviously improvements on the robustness of inverter and meanwhile does not lose advantages on the dynamic performance.

        The Long Noncoding RNA NEAT1 Targets miR-34a-5p and Drives Nasopharyngeal Carcinoma Progression via Wnt/β-Catenin Signaling

        Purpose: Long noncoding RNA nuclear paraspeckle assembly transcript 1 (NEAT1) has been deemed an oncogene in many humancancers. However, the underlying mechanism of NEAT1 in nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) progression remains largelyunclear. Materials and Methods: Quantitative real-time PCR assay was performed to assess the expression of NEAT1 and miR-34a-5p inNPC tissues and cells. Western blot analysis was used to observe cell epithelial to mesenchymal transition (EMT) and the activationof Wnt/β-catenin signaling in 5-8F cells. MiRNA directly interacting with NEAT1 were verified by dual-luciferase reporter assayand RNA immunoprecipitation. Cell proliferation ability was determined by CCK-8 assay, and cell migration and invasion capacitieswere assessed by transwell assays. An animal model was used to investigate the regulatory effect of NEAT1 on tumorgrowth in vivo. Results: Our data revealed that NEAT1 is upregulated, while miR-34a-5p is downregulated in NPC tissues and cell lines. NEAT1knockdown repressed tumor growth in vitro and in vivo. Additionally, we discovered that NEAT1 directly binds to miR-34a-5pand suppresses miR-34a-5p expression. Moreover, NEAT1 knockdown exerted suppression effects on cell proliferation, migration,invasion, and EMT by miR-34a-5p. NEAT1 knockdown blocked Wnt/β-catenin signaling via miR-34a-5p. Conclusion: Our study demonstrated that NEAT1 targets miR-34a-5p at least partly to drive NPC progression by regulating Wnt/β-catenin signaling, suggesting a potential therapeutic target for NPC.

        A Modified PiggyBac Transposon System Mediated by Exogenous mRNA to Perform Gene Delivery in Bovine Mammary Epithelial Cells

        Transposons are widely used for geneticengineering in various model organisms. Recently, piggyBac(PB) has been developed as a transposable and efficientgene transfer tool in mammalian cells. In the present study,we developed three types of PB transposon systemscontaining a dual plasmid system (DPS), a single plasmidsystem (SPS), and a DNA-mRNA combined system (DRPS)and characterized their basic properties in HEK293 cells. The basic elements of the donor plasmid included aselectable-reporter gene expression cassette, two loxP sitesin the same orientation, a multiple cloning site, and twochicken β-globin insulator core elements. We further identifiedthe function of the selectable-reporter and examined PBintegration sites in the human genome. Moreover, wecompared the transposition efficacy and found that SPStransposed more efficiently, as compared to DPS; integrationinto the host genome was determined by measuring PBaseactivity. Results discovered the loss of PBase activity in theDRPS, indicating that this system is much more biologicallysafe, as compared to DPS and SPS. Finally, we employedthe DRPS to successfully perform a gene delivery intobovine mammary epithelial cells (BMECs). Taken together,the information from this study will improve the flexibilityof PB transposon systems and reduce the genotoxicity ofPBase in genetic engineering.

      • Light Load Efficiency Improvement Method for GaN-Based DAB Converter with Hybrid Discontinuous Current Mode

        Conventional phase-shift controlled dual active bridge (DAB) converters which operate in discontinuous current mode (DCM) are hard to realize the zero-voltage switching (ZVS) due to the light load. This paper proposed an efficiency improvement method for the DAB converter with fix-frequency hybrid discontinue current mode (HDCM). By adopting the HDCM control method, synchronous rectification and wide load range ZVS of switching devices are realized simultaneously without changing the components of the conventional DAB power stage in DCM. Besides, to further improve the conversion ratio and efficiency, the voltage-doubled rectification (VDR) is adopted. The HDCM implementation method with a digital signal processor (DSP) is proposed. A 200W laboratory prototype is designed to validate the correctness of HDCM. Compared to the conventional DAB converter which operates in DCM, experimental results demonstrate that the efficiency was increased 1.2% at 10% rated load.

        Joint Adaptive Combining and Variable Tap-Length Multiuser Detector for Underwater Acoustic Cooperative Communication

        In this paper, we propose a joint adaptive combining and variable tap-length multiuser detector (MUD) for amplify-and-forward (AF) underwater acoustic cooperative interleave-division multiple access (IDMA) communication system. The proposed MUD jointly realizes tap-length adjustment, adaptive combining, and multiuser detection. In contrast to the existing methods, the proposed detector can adaptively combine the received signals from different nodes at destination, and does not need the assumption that full and perfect channel state information (CSI) of all the links at the receiver is known. Moreover, the proposed detector can adaptively adjust the tap coefficient vector and tap-length of each branch according to the specific channel profile of each branch. Simulation results validate the feasibility and show the advantages of the proposed detector against existing counterparts.

        Gamma spectrum denoising method based on improved wavelet threshold

        Adverse effects in the measured gamma spectrum caused by radioactive statistical fluctuations, gamma ray scattering, and electronic noise can be reduced by energy spectrum denoising. Wavelet threshold denoising can be used to perform multi-scale and multi-resolution analysis on noisy signals with small root mean square errors and high signal-to-noise ratios. However, in traditional wavelet threshold denoising methods, there are signal oscillations in hard threshold denoising and constant deviations in soft threshold denoising. An improved wavelet threshold calculation method and threshold processing function are proposed in this paper. The improved threshold calculation method takes into account the influence of the number of wavelet decomposition layers and reduces the deviation caused by the inaccuracy of the threshold. The improved threshold processing function can be continuously guided, which solves the discontinuity of the traditional hard threshold function, avoids the constant deviation caused by the traditional soft threshold method. The examples show that the proposed method can accurately denoise and preserves the characteristic signals well in the gamma energy spectrum

        Microstructure and properties of 316L stainless steel foils for pressure sensor of pressurized water reactor

        The microstructure and texture of three 316L foils of 25 ㎛ thickness, which were subjected to different manufacturing process, were systematically characterized using advance analytical techniques. Then, the electrochemical property of the 316L foils in simulated pressurized water reactor (PWR) solution was analyzed using potentiodynamic polarization. The results showed that final rolling strain and annealing temperature had evident effect on grain size, fraction of recrystallization, grain boundary type and texture distribution. It was suggested that large final rolling strain could transfer Brass texture to Copper texture; low annealing temperature could limit the formation of preferable orientations in the rolling process to reduce anisotropy. Potentiodynamic polarization test showed that all samples exhibited good corrosion performance in the simulated primary PWR solution.
