Anti allergic and anti-inflammatory effects of the fruits of Randia dumetorum Lamk

        Dinesh kumar,Satish C. Mudgade,Zulfiqar Ali Bhat,Santosh S. Bhujbal,R. Rub,이철훈,손은화 경희대학교 융합한의과학연구소 2011 Oriental Pharmacy and Experimental Medicine Vol.11 No.3

Randia dumetorum Lamk. commonly known as Madana in Sanskrit and widely distributed throughout India. In Ayurveda, Randia dumetorum Lamk. is used in treatment asthma, rhinitis, bronchatitis, cold, cough, pain, inflammation etc. The aim of this study: was to assess the anti allergic effects of the fruit of Randia dumetorum Lamk. Allergy and anaphylaxis are the most responsible factor for diseases like asthma, rhinitis, bronchatitis, cold, cough, pain, inflammation etc. Asthma is an inflammatory disease of lungs and the hallmarks of the disease are the increased inflammatory cell infiltration into the airways and poor respiratory function although there is a possibility that Randia dumetorum Lamk. may have an inhibitory effect on lung inflammation and allergic mediators. The effects of Randia dumetorum Lamk. on allergy and asthma have not been fully investigated. In the present study, we investigated the antiallergic and antiinflammatory activity of Randia dumetorum Lamk. extract and its fraction on milk induced leucocytosis and eosinophilia in mice, passive paw anaphylaxis and mast cell degranulation in rat models. Randia dumetorum Lamk. extract was obtained from dried and powdered fruits of Randia dumetorum Lamk. using 95% methanol and its fractions were obtained by using increasing polarity of solvents like Petroleum ether, chloroform, ethylacetate and methanol. Milk was used to induce leucocytosis and eosinophilia in mice model, eggalbumin was used as sensitizer in passive paw anaphylaxis in rat model and clonidine was used to degranulate the mast cells in rat model. We examined the effects of Randia dumetorum Lamk. extract and its fraction on milk induced leucocytosis and eosinophilia in mice, passive paw anaphylaxis and mast cell degranulation in rats. The extract and its fractions significantly inhibited leukocytosis and eosinophilia in blood of mice. The extract and its fractions also significantly inhibited the passive paw oedema and mast cell degranulation in rats. Methanol extract showed dose dependent significant activity (**p<0.01). Amongst the fractions, chloroform fraction showed the most significant activity followed by ethyl acetate and residual methanol fraction with intermediate activity and finally the petroleum ether fraction with the least or negligible activity (*p<0.05, **p<0.01). These results suggest the possibility of extract and its fraction can exert suppressive effects on allergy, inflammation and asthma and may provide evidence that Randia dumetorum Lamk. is a useful agent for the treatment of allergic airway disease. Hence it would be a good path for the isolation of most bioactive principle for the management of allergic airway disease.

Nickel nanoparticles-doped rhodamine grafted carbon nanofibers as colorimetric probe: Naked eye detection and highly sensitive measurement of aqueous Cr3+ and Pb2+

Dinesh Kumar,Neetu Talreja 한국화학공학회 2019 Korean Journal of Chemical Engineering Vol.36 No.1

Nickel nanoparticle (NiNPs)-doped carbon nanofiber (CNF) grafted with Rhodamine-B (RhB) dye (Ni- CNF-RhB), was prepared and utilized as a colorimetric probe for detection and measurements of chromium (Cr3+) and lead (Pb2+) metal ions in aqueous systems. An intense pink solution was obtained within 30 s on the exposure of the colorless Ni-CNF-RhB probe to the metal ions (Cr3+ and Pb2+) solution. Briefly, the NiNPs-doped carbon beads were synthesized and applied as a substrate to grow CNFs by chemical vapor deposition. The Ni-CNF-RhB colorimetric probe exhibited fast response and selective determination towards Cr3+ and Pb2+ over the 0.1-10 ppm concentration range of their respective solution pH. The developed probe also showed the pH-dependent colorimetric response, thereby, selectivity determination of the metal ions. The detection limits of the colorimetric probe against Cr3+ and Pb2+ are 203 and 132 nM, respectively. The binding ability of the RhB-dye was augmented by CNF and NiNPs, while the carbon beads provided support to CNF to help probe in detection application and its re-usability. The method to prepare the colorimetric probe is simple, novel, selective, and the probe can be efficiently used for the fast detection (naked eye) and measurements of toxic metal ions in aqueous systems.

Investigation on Mechanical and Wear Performance of Ultrasonic-Assisted Stir Cast AZ91D/Al2O3 Magnesium Matrix Composites

        Dinesh Kumar,Lalit Thakur 대한금속·재료학회 2023 METALS AND MATERIALS International Vol.29 No.9

The current investigation is focused on the fabrication and characterization of Al2O3reinforced AZ91 Magnesium (Mg)matrix composites. These lightweight and wear-resistant composites were developed by incorporating the varying Al2O3reinforcement in weight percentages (wt% ages) into AZ91 Mg matrix alloy using stir casting technique in conjunction withultrasonic agitations with optimal conditions. The effects of varying wt% of reinforcements on the composite’s particledistribution, matrix-particle interfacial reaction, microstructure, mechanical and tribological attributes were investigated. The tribological performance of base matrix alloy and the developed composites was examined using a friction and wearapparatus. The analysis using SEM, OM, and XRD were accomplished to investigate the surface morphology, microstructure, and phase changes of base matrix alloy and the developed composites. The mechanical characterization shows that theinsertion of Al2O3particulates prompted the simultaneous enhancement in microhardness, impact strength, and indentationfracture toughness. The homogeneous dispersion of fine particles caused by the ultrasonic agitations was credited withimproving wear resistance. The wear tracks were formed on the worn specimen by adhesion, oxidation, erosion of soft AZ91magnesium matrix, and the delamination when assessing sliding wear, as revealed by the micro-structural investigation. The eruption of base matrix and the pull-out of the particles have both contributed to the material removal. The addition ofreinforcement above a certain limit led to the agglomeration, clustering, and uneven distribution of particles, which resultedin the deterioration in impact toughness and the wear-resistance of the composite.

GENERALIZED FRACTIONAL KINETIC EQUATIONS ASSOCIATED WITH ALEPH FUNCTION

Dinesh Kumar,최준상 장전수학회 2016 Proceedings of the Jangjeon mathematical society Vol.19 No.1

Fractional kinetic equations are investigated in order to describe various phenomena governed by anomalous reaction in dynamical systems with chaotic motion. Due to a great importance of the kinetic equations in certain astrophysical problems, their solutions have been investigated by a number of researchers. Very recently, the authors [4] used the Sumudu transform to present a very generalized solution of the fractional kinetic equations expressed in terms of Aleph functions. Here, by mainly using the Laplace transform, the authors aim at deriving a solution of the fractional kinetic equation which is also expressed in terms of Aleph functions. The main solution presented here is general enough to be specialized to include many earlier results associated with the kinetic equations.

Some of the interesting special cases of our main results have been discussed.

      • SOLUTION OF A GENERAL FAMILY OF FRACTIONAL KINETIC EQUATIONS ASSOCIATED WITH THE GENERALIZED MITTAG-LEFFLER FUNCTION

Dinesh Kumar,최준상,H. M. Srivastava 경남대학교 수학교육과 2018 Nonlinear Functional Analysis and Applications Vol.23 No.3

Fractional kinetic equations are investigated in order to describe the various phenomena governed by anomalous reaction in dynamical systems with chaotic motion. Many authors have provided solutions of various families of fractional kinetic equations involving such special functions as (for example) a generalized Bessel function of the first kind [18] and the Aleph function [6]. Here, in this paper, we aim at presenting solution of a certain general family of fractional kinetic equations associated with the generalized Mittag- Leffler function. It is also shown that the result presented here includes, as its special cases, solutions of many fractional kinetic equations which were investigated in earlier works. In our investigation, we have found it to be more convenient to use (and the closed-form results derived here appear to be considerably simpler by using) the Sumudu transform instead of the classical Laplace transform.

Infusing the axioms of clinical reasoning while designing clinical anatomy case vignettes teaching for novice medical students: a randomised cross over study

        Dinesh Kumar,V,Rajprasath R,N,A,Priyadharshini,Magi Murugan,Rema Devi 대한해부학회 2020 Anatomy & Cell Biology Vol.53 No.2

The clinical reasoning skills is often gained when the biomedical knowledge is broadened and deepened alongside exposure to patients. The ‘ideal’ blend of axioms of clinical reasoning and case based learning would establish the pedagogical bridges right from the first year of medical education. So this study aimed to investigate the perceived importance and efficacy of teaching clinical reasoning skills among first year medical students, as this has not previously been described. As a priori, two clinical reasoning skill sessions were conducted using clinico-anatomical case vignettes designed according to the literature regarding clinical reasoning (‘serial cue’ approach and hypothetico-deduction). Students were divided into intervention and control group and crossed over in subsequent sessions. Analysis was done by mixed method approach including measuring proof of benefit using post-test comparison, quantitative survey and qualitative analysis by nominal group discussion. Post test scores were compared using student’s t-test. Feedbacks were analysed using descriptive statistics. The results showed that post test scores were significantly higher in intervention group than the control group in both sessions (P<0.001, 0.016). A total of 66% students felt, diagnostic skills and lateral thinking abilities were improved and It helped in developing problem-solving abilities for 67% students. clinico-anatomical case vignettes helped in understanding anatomical basis of clinical conditions for 61% students. To conclude, introducing clinical reasoning has considerable effect in improving the decision making ability of the students and if incorporated right from the first year, would better prepare the students in successful transition to clinical learning environment.
