Seismic performance of the concrete-encased CFST column to RC beam joints: Analytical study
Dan-Yang Ma,Lin-Hai Han,Xiao-Ling Zhao,Wei-Biao Yang 국제구조공학회 2020 Steel and Composite Structures, An International J Vol.36 No.5
A finite element analysis (FEA) model is established to investigate the concrete-encased concrete-filled steel tubular (CFST) column to reinforced concrete (RC) beam joints under cyclic loading. The feasibility of the FEA model is verified by a set of test results, consisting of the failure modes, the exposed view of connections, the crack distributions and development, and the hysteretic relationships. The full-range analysis is conducted to investigate the stress and strain development process in the composite joint by using this FEA model. The internal force distributions of different components, as well as the deformation distributions, are analyzed under different failure modes. The proposed connections are investigated under dimensional and material parameters, and the proper constructional details of the connections are recommended. Parameters of the beam-column joints, including material strength, confinement factor, reinforcement ratio, diameter of steel tube to sectional width ratio, beam to column linear bending stiffness ratio and beam shear span ratio are evaluated. Furthermore, the key parameters affecting the failure modes and the corresponding parameters ranges are proposed in this paper.

Objective: The aim of this study was to investigate the effects of Enteromorpha powder supplementation on reproduction-related hormones and genes in the late laying period of Zi geese. Methods: A total of 312 (1-year-old) Zi geese with similar laying rate were randomly divided into 2 groups with 6 replicates each, each with 21 female geese and 5 male geese. The control group was fed with a basal diet and the test group was fed with a diet containing 3% Enteromorpha powder. The trial period lasted for 7 weeks. Results: Our results showed that the laying rate was improved in the test group at each week of trial (p<0.01), and the levels of estradiol in serum and prolactin in ovary were increased compared with the control group (p<0.05). Conclusion: Based on above results, Enteromorpha powder supplementation at 3% could promote reproductive performance during the late laying period of Zi geese. Methods : This study included 155 IS patients and 128 healthy physical examinees. TaqMan-polymerase chain reaction technology and multivariate logistic regression were performed. Results : In the case group, there was no polymorphism of rs1060499865 observed in the two groups; whereas on the rs723296 locus the frequencies of C allele and TC genotype were significantly higher than that in the control group, alleles C and T were associated with a 2.158-fold increase in IS risk, and genotypes TC and TT were associated with a 2.269-fold increase in IS risk. The locus rs957960 exhibited no significant difference between the two groups. Conclusion : An association between rs723296 and the risk of IS was found in the Chinese Han population in Dali region. No significant association was found between rs1060499865, rs957960 and IS in the Chinese Han population in Dali region.

Background: Soybean oil may protect against cancer of the breast and prostate. It may also exert beneficial influence in combination with other oils. Here, blends (20%, v/v) of sea buckthorn oil (SEBO), camellia oil (CAO), rice bran oil (RBO), sesame oil (SEO) and peanut oil (PEO) with soybean oil (SBO) were formulated. Materials and Methods: Oxidative stability (OS) and radical scavenging activity (RSA) of SBO and blends stored under oxidative conditions ($60^{\circ}C$) for 24 days were studied. By blending with different kinds oils, levels of polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFA) decreased, while monounsaturated fatty acid (MUFA) content increased. Progression of oxidation was followed by measuring peroxide value (PV), p-anisidine (PAV), conjugated dienes (CD) and conjugated trienes (CT). Results: Inverse relationships were noted between PV and OS at termination of storage. Levels of CD and CT in SBO, and blends, increased with increase in time. The impact of SEO as additives on SBO oxidation was the strongest followed by RBO, CAO, SEBO and PNO. Conclusions: Oxidative stability of oil blends was better than SBO, most likely as a consequence of changes in fatty acids and tocopherols' profile, and minor bioactive lipids found in selected oils. The results suggest that these oil blends could contribute as sources of important antioxidant related to the prevention of chronic diseases associated to oxidative stress, such as in cancer and coronary artery disease.

<P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P>Zirconium dioxide loaded montmorillonite (ZrO2-MMT) composites have been prepared using an ion-exchange process at room temperature followed by a thermal treatment. The as-prepared composites are used to adsorb Cr3+ ions in the tanning wastewater with a lower initial Cr3+ concentration, reducing residual Cr3+ concentration to less than 1 mg L−1. XRD, TEM, SEM-EDS and XPS analyses are made to explore the structure and morphology of the composites. ZrO2 is found to load on the interlayer and surface of MMT. The adsorption process is appropriately described by the pseudo-second-order kinetic equation and Langmuir equation. The ZrO2-MMT composites exhibit a better adsorption capacity than adsorption materials reported in the literature, and the maximum adsorption capacity for the initial Cr3+ concentration of 10, 20, 30 mg L−1 is as large as 142.86, 158.73 and 172.41 mg g−1, respectively. Due to limited understanding about the effect of cryo/thermal strength from drying process on the redispersibility of drug nanocrystals, the impact of the different type and concentration of stabilizers and matrix formers on the redispersibility of nanocrystals were systematically investigated. Andro nanosuspensions were transformed into Andro nanocrystals (Andro-NC) via different drying process. The results demonstrated that the redispersibility of Andro-NC at the aggressive cryo-strength (meant higher freezing rate) was more excellent than those at conservative andmoderatecondition.Comparedtothethermalstressfrom drying, the employed amount and type of stabilizers more dramatically affected the redispersibility of Andro-NCP during lyophilization. The HPMC-sucrose and HPMC-sorbitol system achieved excellent performance that protected Andro-NC from crystal growth during lyophilization. During spray-drying, the impacts of types and amounts of stabilizers on the redispersibility of Andro-NCP were more significant compared to those induced by the thermal stress conditions. The polymers HPMC, PVPK30 and MCCS with high Tg played an outstanding role in preventing the AndroNCP from breakage during spray-drying, due to the firmly steric barrier effect of polymeric stabilizers. It is concluded that Andro-NCP is subjected to agglomeration or crystal growth due to cryo/thermal stresses during drying. The polymeric stabilizers are more effective to protect AndroNCP from the cryo/thermal damage during solidification process, which behaved strong surface adsorption and high glass transition property at different solidification stress.

Cancer/testis (CT) antigens exhibit highly tissue-restricted expression and are considered promising targets for cancer vaccines. Here we identified a novel CT gene ZNF645 which restrictively expresses in normal human testes and lung cancer patients (68.3%). To investigate the promoter methylation status of ZNF645, we carried out bisulfite genomic sequencing and found that the CpG island in its promoter was heavily methylated in normal lung tissues without the expression of ZNF645, whereas there was high demethylation in normal human testes and lung carcinoma tissues with its expression. Also ZNF645 could be remarkably activated in A549 and HEK293T cells treated by DNA demethylation agent 5`-aza-2`-deoxycytidine. And the dual luciferase assay revealed that the promoter activity of the ZNF645 was inhibited by methylation of the CpG island region. Therefore, we proposed that ZNF645 is a CT gene and activated in human testis and lung cancers by demethylation of its promoter region. [BMB reports 2010; 43(6): 400-406]
