Zhao, Jian-qing,Xiao, Guo-liang,Zhu, Wen-liang,Fang, Di,Li, Na,Han, Chun-mei,Gao, Qing-hua Asian Australasian Association of Animal Productio 2021 Animal Bioscience Vol.34 No.2
Objective: The present study evaluated the preservation of ram semen at 0℃ using soybean lecithin with a Tris-fructose extender. Methods: Semen was collected by artificial vagina ejaculation from six rams with proven fertility. High quality ejaculates were diluted by soybean lecithin (0.25%, 0.5%, 0.75%, 1.0%, 1.25%) using Tris-fructose extender and control (Tris-fructose egg yolk extender), respectively. The ejaculates were diluted to a concentration of 5×108 sperm/mL, followed by cooling to 0℃ in 90 min and maintaining the temperature for 12 days. The diluted semen samples were examined and recorded for sperm progressive motility, acrosome integrity at 0, 24, 72, 144, 216, 288 h, respectively. Two hundred and twenty-three ewes were inseminated for 216 h with optimal soybean lecithin concentrated semen or control via trans-cervical insemination. Results: The results showed that there were no differences in sperm progressive motility at 0, 24, 72, and 144 h (p>0.05). After 216 h, the sperm progressive motility in the control group and 0.5% concentration groups was significantly higher when compared to 0.25% concentration (p<0.05). The 0.5% concentration group demonstrated the highest survival rate and had no difference with the control group (p>0.05). At 216 h, the sperm progressive motility of all groups was still above 50%. The acrosome integrity of all groups was decreased with prolongation of storage time, but there was no difference at each time point (p>0.05). There was no significant difference in the lambing rate and pregnancy rate between the 0.5% concentration group and the control group (p>0.05). Conclusion: These results suggest that ram sperm is capable of fertilization after preservation at 0℃ with 0.5% of soybean lecithin in Tris-based extender substituted for egg yolk and produce normal offspring after insemination.

Zhao, Lin,Liu, Chun-Ling,Song, Qing-Kun,Deng, Ying-Mei,Qu, Chen-Xu,Li, Jun Asian Pacific Journal of Cancer Prevention 2014 Asian Pacific journal of cancer prevention Vol.15 No.20
Background: Yanting is one of high risk areas for esophageal cancer and the screening program was therefore initiated there. This study was aimed to investigate the dietary behaviors on the risk of esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC), among the individuals with normal and abnormal esophagus mucosa. Materials and Methods: A frequency matched case-controls study was proposed to estimate the different distribution of dietary behavior between individuals of control, esophagitis and cancer groups. Cancer cases were selected from hospitals. Esophagitis cases and controls were selected from screening population for ESCC. Health workers collected data for 1 year prior to interview, in terms of length of finishing a meal, temperature of eaten food and interval between water boiling and drinking. Chi-square, Kruskal-Wallis tests and unconditional logistic regression model were used to estimate differences and associations between groups. Results: Compared with controls, length of finishing a meal ${\geq}15mins$ was related to a reduced OR for cancer (OR=0.46, 95%CI, 0.22-0.97) and even compared with cases of esophagitis, the OR of cancer was reduced to 0.30 (95%CI, 0.13-0.72). The OR for often eating food at a high temperature was 2.48 (95%CI 1.06, 5.82) for ESCC as compared with controls. Interval between water boiling and drinking of ${\geq}10mins$ was associated with lower risk of cancer: the OR was 0.18 compared with controls and 0.49 with esophagitis cases (p<0.05). Conclusions: Length of eating food ${\geq}15mins$ and interval between water boiling and drinking ${\geq}10mins$ are potentially related to reduced risk of esophageal SCC, compared with individuals with normal and abnormal esophageal mucosa. Recommendations to Yanting residents to change their dietary behaviors should be made in order to reduce cancer risk.

Esophageal carcinoma (EC) is one of the most aggressive cancers with a poor prognosis. Understanding the molecular mechanisms underlying esophageal cancer progression is a high priority for improved EC diagnosis and prognosis. Recently, MSP58 was shown to behave as an oncogene in colorectal carcinomas and gliomas. However, little is known about its function in esophageal carcinomas. We therefore examined the effects of MSP58 knockdown on the growth of esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC) cells in vitro and in vivo in order to gain a better understanding of its potential as a tumor therapeutic target. We employed lentiviral-mediated small hairpin RNA (shRNA) to knock down the expression of MSP58 in the ESCC cell lines Eca-109 and EC9706 and demonstrated inhibition of ESCC cell proliferation and colony formation in vitro. Furthermore, flow cytometry and western blot analyses revealed that MSP58 depletion induced cell cycle arrest by regulating the expression of P21, CDK4 and cyclin D1. Notably, the downregulation of MSP58 significantly inhibited the growth of ESCC xenografts in nude mice. Our results suggest that MSP58 may play an important role in ESCC progression.
A Novel Control Strategy for Input-Parallel-Output-Series Inverter System
Song, Chun-Wei,Zhao, Rong-Xiang,Lin, Wang-Qing,Zeng, Zheng Journal of International Conference on Electrical 2012 Journal of international Conference on Electrical Vol.1 No.2
This paper presents a topology structure and control method for an input-parallel-output-series(IPOS) inverter system which is suitable for high input current, high output voltage, and high power applications. In order to ensure the normal operation of the IPOS inverter system, the control method should achieve input current sharing(ICS) and output voltage sharing(OVS) among constituent modules. Through the analysis in this paper, ICS is automatically achieved as long as OVS is controlled. The IPOS inverter system is controlled by a three-loop control system which is composed of an outer common-output voltage loop, inner current loops and voltage sharing loops. Simulation results show that this control strategy can achieve low total harmonic distortion(THD) in the system output voltage, fast dynamic response, and good output voltage sharing performance.

Lethal and sublethal effects of sulfoxaflor on the small brown planthopper Laodelphax striatellus
Lu Xu,Chun-Qing Zhao,Ya-Nan Zhang,Ying Liud,,Zhong-Yan Gu 한국응용곤충학회 2016 Journal of Asia-Pacific Entomology Vol.19 No.3
Laodelphax striatellus (Fallén), as an important pest of gramineous crops, has developed resistance to multiple classes of insecticides, impairing control efficiency. However, the application of insecticides is still the main controlmeasure for it.Herein, the lethal effects of seven insecticides aswell as sulfoxaflor, which has been introduced and registered for controlling L. striatellus in China, were investigated. The acute toxicity of these insecticides on the L. striatellus adultswas rankedas sulfoxaflor N abamectin N dinotefuran N emamectin benzoate N ethofenprox N imidacloprid N chlorantraniliprole N chlorpyrifos. The toxicity of sulfoxaflor against the adultswas highestwith LD50 at 1.07–1.09 ng/insect. In addition, the sublethal effects of lower lethal dose LD3 (0.06 ng/insect), low lethal dose LD10 (0.15 ng/insect) and moderate lethal dose LD30 (0.49 ng/insect) of sulfoxaflor for L. striatellus were assessed as well. Both LD10 and LD30 induced slower nymphal development period, shorter oviposition period and longer pre-oviposition period in L. striatellus. The LD30 also shortened the longevity of females. Hormesis on fecunditywas observed in L. striatellus exposed to LD3. Therefore, the net reproductive rate (R0) was increased by LD3. The intrinsic rate of increase (rm) was reduced by LD10 and LD30 while mean generation time(T) and doubling time (DT) were prolonged. The acute sulfoxaflor doses in its toxicological properties need to be considered when develop L. striatellus control strategy with sulfoxaflor. These results demonstrate that sulfoxaflor is a valid candidate for L. striatellus management.
