The purpose of this study was self-identity of individuals with physical disabilities participating in physical activity. Subjects included 198(male: 143 female: 58) with individuals with physical disabilities. The questionnaire that was developed by Park Ah-Chung(1996) was used self-identity scale of Korean. It was revised by Lee Sung-Guk(1999) which consisted of 6 factors, 48 items. Construct validity of the instrument was checked by Factor analysis. Reliability of questions was confirmed by Cronbach`s α value(.783). The data analysis were Independent t-test, one-way ANOVA, and multiple regression analysis. The results were as follows; First, job and incomes had significant effects on self-identity of individuals with physical disabilities. Second, physical instructors, mass media, and friends had significant effects on self-identity of individuals with physical disabilities. Third, physical activity period, group exercise, and athletes with disabilities had significant effects on self-identity of individuals with physical disabilities. Fourth, high understanding of disability traits significant difference than low understanding of disabilities traits on self-identity of individuals with physical disabilities. These results implied that individuals with physical disabilities participation in physical activity had significant effects on their self-identity according to socio-demographic variables, significant other, type of physical activity, participation type of physical activity, and understanding of disability traits.

Cyclosporine-A(CsA)는 이식 장기의 면역거부반응을 억제하고 또한 면역학적으로 이상이 있는 여러 질병의 치료제로 널리 시용된다. CsA는 세포 매개성 면역시스템의 변환에 중요한 역할을 하지만 몇가지 T-림프구 유도 사이토카인의 방출을 억제하여 간접적으로 단핵구의 기능에도 영향을 미친다. CsA는 치은 과증식을 포함한 많은 CsA유도 치은 과증식증의 병인론에 대해서는 아직 완전히 밝혀지지 않았다. 저자들은 CsA와 을 함계 사용한 4명의 신장 이식 환자에서 치은 형질세포 육아종을 interleukin-6 을 이용한 면역조각화학볍으로 분석하였다. 비록 약물성 유도성 치은 과식증의 병인론은 불분명하지만,CsA가 여러 성장인자(growth factor)와 platelet-derived growth factors-B(PDGF-B) 및 interleukin-6에 작용하여 섬유모세포의 활동성을 변화시킨다고 여겨진다.

Surfactin is a natural biosurfactant derived from Bacillus subtilis and has various biological activities such as anticancer, antiplatelet, and anti-inflammatory effects. In this study, the inhibitory mechanism of surfactin in NO production from macrophages was examined. Surfactin down regulated LPS-induced NO production in RAW264.7 cells and primary macrophages with $IC_{50}$ values of 31.6 and $22.4{\mu}M$, respectively. Immunoblotting analysis showed that surfactin strongly blocked the phosphorylation of IKK and $l{\kappa}B{\alpha}$ and the nuclear translocation of $NF-{\kappa}B$ (p65). Therefore, these data suggest that surfactin may act as a bacterium-derived anti-inflammatory agent with anti-$NF-{\kappa}B$ activity.

Lymph node metastasis is rare in small (i.e., <10 mm) rectal neuroendocrine tumors (NETs). In addition to tumor size, pathological features such as the mitotic or Ki-67 proliferation index are associated with lymph node metastasis in rectal NETs. We recently treated a patient who underwent endoscopic treatment of a small, grade 1 rectal NET that recurred in the form of perirectal lymph node metastasis 7 years later. A 7-mm-sized perirectal lymph node was noted at the time of the initial endoscopic treatment. The same lymph node was found to be slightly enlarged on follow-up and finally confirmed as a metastatic NET. Therefore, the perirectal lymph node metastasis might have been present at the time of the initial diagnosis. However, the growth rate of the lymph node was extremely low, and it took 7 years to increase in size from 7 to 10 mm. NETs with low Ki-67 proliferation index and without mitotic activity may grow extremely slowly even if they are metastatic. (Intest Res 2015;13:175-179)
Biomimetic Liquid-Sieving through Covalent Molecular Meshes

<P>The porin pores of biological cell membranes enable molecules to be sieved out selectively while water molecules traverse the channel in a single file. Imitating this streaming mechanism is a promising way to create artificial liquid-sieving membranes, but ultrathin molecular pores need to be produced in a large membrane format to be functional under high transmembrane pressures. Here we show that a membrane composed of a covalent molecular mesh can filter mixtures of small molecules in a liquid by the porin-like mechanism. Tetrahedral network formers are polymerized layer-by-layer on a nanoporous substrate to yield a thin layer of a covalent molecular network containing an array of molecular meshes grown by a pore-limited mechanism. Each of the meshes exhibits high water permeability, estimated to be greater than 2500 Lm(-2) h(-1). Glucose or larger molecules are selectively sieved out while the solvent and solutes smaller than glucose traverse the mesh.</P>

A 60-GHz LTCC SiP with Low-Power CMOS OOK Modulator and Demodulator

In this paper, a 60 GHz LTCC SiP with low-power CMOS OOK modulator and demodulator is presented. The 60 GHz modulator is designed in a 90-nm CMOS process. The modulator uses a current reuse technique and only consumes 14.4-mW of DC power in the on-state. The measured data rate is up to 2 Gb/s. The 60 GHz OOK demodulator is designed in a 130nm CMOS process. The demodulator consists of a gain boosting detector and a baseband amplifier, and it recovers up to 5 Gb/s while consuming low DC power of 14.7 mW. The fabricated 60 GHz modulator and demodulator are fully integrated in an LTCC SiP with 1 by 2 patch antenna. With the LTCC SiP, 648 Mb/s wireless video transmission was successfully demonstrated at wireless distance of 20-cm.
Factors Associated with Clinical Outcomes of Palliative Stenting for Malignant Colonic Obstruction

Background/Aims: Self-expandable metal stents (SEMSs) can be applied to relieve colorectal obstruction secondary to incurable primary colorectal cancer or extracolonic malignancy. We aimed to identify factors associated with clinical success and the reintervention-free survival (RFS) after palliative stenting. Methods: Cases of palliative SEMS placement between 2005 and 2019 were retrieved from the institutional database and reviewed retrospectively. Logistic regression and log-rank testing followed by Cox proportional hazard analyses were performed to investigate the predictors of the clinical success of palliative stenting and factors associated with RFS, respectively. Results: A total of 593 patients underwent palliative stenting for malignant colonic obstruction (MCO). The technical and clinical success rates were 92.9% and 83.5%, respectively. Peritoneal carcinomatosis was a predictor of clinical failure (odds ratio, 0.33; 95% confidence interval [CI], 0.17 to 0.65) in the multivariate analysis. Peritoneal carcinomatosis (hazard ratio [HR], 2.48; 95% CI, 1.69 to 3.64) and stent expansion >90% on day 1 (HR, 1.62; 95% CI, 1.05 to 2.50) were associated with a shorter RFS. Neither clinical success nor RFS was associated with extracolonic malignancy. Re-obstruction, stent migration, and perforation were responsible for most reinterventions after clinically successful palliative stenting. Conclusions: In patients requiring palliative stenting for MCO, peritoneal carcinomatosis was associated with both clinical failure and short RFS. Stent expansion >90% on postprocedural day 1 was another predictor of a short RFS after clinically successful stenting. A large prospective study is warranted to establish factors associated with RFS after successful palliative stenting for MCO. (Gut Liver 2021;15:579-587)
Surface Modification of Cast Inconel 740 Superalloy by Heat-Assisted Friction Stir Processing

Cast In740 Ni-based alloy with large grains generally show remarkable high temperature strength. However, this alloy is still have insufficient surface microstructure-dependent properties. In this study, for improvement of surface properties, surface modification of a cast In740 Ni-based superalloy was successfully performed by friction stir processing using a conventional two-horsepower milling machine and by additional heating to facilitate plastic flow of the hard alloy. Without using a high-power heavy stirring machine, a notable reduction in grain size of 2.9 μm was achieved and a corresponding 30% increase in Vickers hardness was observed. The microstructure in the stir zone was analyzed in terms of the grain size and precipitate distribution. The result of the potential dynamic polarization test and in-situ acoustic emission monitoring show that electrochemical corrosion resistance was improved by this surface modification process.
Inhibition of cytokine expression by a butanol extract from Cordyceps bassiana.

<P>Cordyceps species have been known since long as a multi-utility ethnomedicinal herbal in Korea, China and Japan. It has been reported to exhibit a number of properties such as anti-oxidative, anti-cancer, antiinflammatory, anti-diabetic, and anti-obesity effects. In a previously conducted study, we had demonstrated that the ethanol extract of Cordyceps bassiana was able to suppress the production of interleukin (IL)-12 and interferon (IFN)-gamma in macrophages and T lymphocytes. In this study, we were able to further explore the molecular basis of its inhibitory mechanism using a butanol fraction of this herbal (Cb-BF) preparation. Similarly, this fraction also blocked the expression of cytokines such as IL-12 and tumor necrosis factor (TNF)-alpha as well as the proliferation of splenic lymphocytes and their production of IFN-gamma but not IL-4. Cb-BF suppressed the luciferase activities that are mediated by nuclear factor (NF)-kappaB, activator protein (AP)-1, and signal transducers and activators of transcription (STAT)-1. In agreement with this, these fractions diminished the translocation of the transcription factors into the nucleus. The study also demonstrated that the upstream signaling events for the activation of these factors such as spleen tyrosine kinase (Syk), janus kinase (JAK)-2, and extracellular signal-regulated kinase (ERK) were suppressed. Therefore, these results suggest that the butanol extract of Cordyceps bassiana may contain more than one active component capable of inhibiting the inflammatory signaling cascade and this can be considered as a potential candidate for treatment of diseases that require suppression of immune system.</P>
