Inverse Estimation of Surface Temperature in Nanoscale Using the Artificial Neural Network
Bup Sung Jung(정법성),Sun Kyung Kim(김선경),Woo Il Lee(이우일) 대한기계학회 2005 대한기계학회 춘추학술대회 Vol.2005 No.5
The inverse heat conduction problem (IHCP) is a problem of estimating boundary condition from temperature measurement at one or more interior points. In this work, an inverse heat conduction problem for nanoscale structure is studied. The conduction phenomenon is modeled using the Boltzmann transport equation. Phonon-mediated heat conduction in one-dimension is considered. One boundary is exposed to an unknown temperature and the other boundary, where temperature observation takes place, is subject to a known boundary condition. The artificial neural network with back-propagation algorithm is applied to inverse estimation of the unknown temperature. Sample results are presented and discuss.
RBF Network를 이용한 표면온도 역추정에 관한 연구

The inverse heat conduction problem (IHCP) is a problem of estimating boundary condition from temperature measurement at one or more interior points. Neural networks are general information processing systems inspired by the connectionist theory of human brain. By properly training the network by the learning rule, the neural network method can handle many non-linear or other complex problems. In this work, neural network is applied to complicated inverse heat conduction problems. Efficiency of the procedure is enhanced by incorporating the radial basis functions (RBF). The RBF is trained faster than other neural network and can find smooth solution. In order to demonstrate the effectiveness of the current scheme, a typical one-dimensional IHCP is considered. At one surface, the temperature as well as the heat flux is known. The unknown temperature of interest is estimated on the other side of the slab. The results from the proposed method based on RBF neural network are compared with the conventional method.

Mine wastes such as acid mine drainage (AMD) can cause the detrimental effects on surrounding environment, thereby eventually threatening human health. Main objective of this study was to evaluate the neutralizing effect of fly ash (FA) as a stabilizing material AMD. Field plot was constructed in a coal waste depot which has caused aluminium-whitening adjacent to the stream. Different mixing ratios of FA were applied on a top of the soil, and then the physicochemical properties of runoff and soil were monitored. Constructed plots were as following: control (mine waste only (W)), mine waste + 20% (w w-1)of FA (WC20M), mine waste + 40% (w w-1)of FA (WC40M), and WC40M dressed with a fresh soil at the top (WC40MD). Result showed that initial pH of runoff in control was 5.09 while that in WC40M (7.81) was significantly increased. For a plot treated with WC40M, the concentration of Al in runoff was decreased to 0.22 mg L-1 compared to the W as the control (4.85 mg L-1). Moreover, the concentration of Fe was also decreased to less than half at the WC40M compared to the control. Application of FA can be useful for neutralizing AMD and possibly minimizing adverse effect of AMD in mining area.
폐격절(Pulmonary Sequestration) 2례
이창성,김법성,이상일,김상우,전우기 인제대학교 1989 仁濟醫學 Vol.10 No.4
We experienced two cases of pulmonary sequestration, in a 6-year-old gial and a 13-year-old boy. Both had left low lobar pneumonia without rales on auscultation, which did not respond well to antibiotics. The aberrant artery of the first case was originated from the thoracic aorta and that of the second case from the abdominal aorta. Sequestration of each case located in the left lower lobe, and they were intralobar type. The second case had an associated anomaly, duplicated left ureter.
