Wind tunnel pressure measurements and numerical simulations based on the Reynolds Stress Model (RSM) are compared with full and model scale data in the flow area of impingement, separation and wake for $60^{\circ}$ and $90^{\circ}$ wind azimuth angles. The phase averaged fluctuating pressures simulated by the RSM model are combined with modelling of the small scale, random pressure field to produce the total, instantaneous pressures. Time averaged, rsm and peak pressure coefficients are consequently calculated. This numerical approach predicts slightly better the pressure field on the roof of the TTU (Texas Tech University) building when compared to the wind tunnel experimental results. However, it shows a deviation from both experimental data sets in the impingement and wake regions. The limitations of the RSM model in resolving the intermittent flow field associated with the corner vortex formation are discussed. Also, correlations between the largest roof suctions and the corner vortex "switching phenomena" are observed. It is inferred that the intermittency and short duration of this vortex switching might be related to both the wind tunnel and numerical simulation under-prediction of the peak roof suctions for oblique wind directions.

The purpose of this paper is to introduce an iterative algorithm for approximating a solution of split equality variational inequality problem for pseudomonotone mappings in the setting of Banach spaces. Under certain conditions, we prove a strong convergence theorem for the iterative scheme produced by the method in real reflexive Banach spaces. The assumption that the mappings are uniformly continuous and sequentially weakly continuous on bounded subsets of Banach spaces are dispensed with. In addition, we present an application of our main results to find solutions of split equality minimum point problems for convex functions in real reflexive Banach spaces. Finally, we provide a numerical example which supports our main result. Our results improve and generalize many of the results in the literature.
Technical Efficiency of The Ethiopian Grain Mill Products Manufacturing Industry
Tedla Bekele,Kassa Belay 한국농촌경제연구원 2007 농촌경제 Vol.30 No.1
This study focuses on the estimation of technical efficiency of firms and the identification of the determinants of technical efficiency in the Ethiopian grain mill products manufacturing industry. A stochastic frontier production function model was estimated and the results indicate that technical efficiency levels of firms differ profoundly. Firm size and existence of book of accounts were positively related to the technical efficiency level of firms whereas higher number of products and byproducts was found to have an adverse impact on firms' technical efficiency level. It was also found that publicly owned enterprises are less technically efficient than privately owned ones.

Chickpea (Cicer arietinum L.) is one of the most important food legumes in the world. However, Fusarium wilt is one of the major yield limiting factors in chickpea. Breeding for host plant resistance is the most cost-efficient and eco-friendly strategy to control the disease. The deployment of resistant varieties has not been extensively used due to lack of stable resistance source with desirable yield and yield-related morphological traits in cultivated chickpea with a narrow genetic base for traits’ improvement. Therefore, creating significant genetic diversity is a fundamental step to develop Fusarium wilt-resistant varieties. In this study, 47 advanced recombinant inbred lines derived from multi-parent intraspecifi c crosses and three checks were assessed for Fusarium wilt resistance and major yield-related morphological traits for two consecutive years. Analysis of variance showed the presence of significant difference ( P < 0.05) among test genotypes for major yieldrelated morphological traits. Consistently, multivariate analyses showed high genetic diversity between test genotypes. Cluster analysis grouped test genotypes into four distinct clusters. The fi rst two principal coordinates with eigenvalues greater than one accounted for 93.94% of the total variation suggesting high genetic diversity between test genotypes. Based on these, we identified 20 high-yielding and novel Fusarium wilt-resistant genotypes with mean wilt incidence of 3.83%. Therefore, these genotypes can be utilized in any chickpea breeding program as a novel Fusarium wilt resistance sources to develop wilt-resistant varieties with high yield and yield-related morphological traits.

This paper examines the tradeoff between commercial orientation and crop productivity among smallholder farm households living in drought risk-prone areas of the central rift valley of Ethiopia. The study was built on the hypothesis that there is a one-way causation between commercial orientation and productivity. The relationship between commercial orientation and crop productivity is assessed in a censored simultaneous equation model framework. Results indicate that there is a unidirectional relationship with total factor productivity being influenced by the endogenous commercial orientation factor.
