AKARI INFRARED CAMERA OBSERVATIONS OF THE 3.3 μm PAH FEATURE IN Swift/BAT AGNs
Angel Castro,Takamitsu Miyaji,MAI SHIRAHATA,Kohei Ichikawa,SHINKI OYABU,David Clark,Masatoshi Imanishi,TAKAO NAKAGAWA,Yoshihiro Ueda 한국천문학회 2017 天文學論叢 Vol.32 No.1
Using the InfraRed Camera (IRC) on board the infrared astronomical satellite {\sl AKARI} we study the 3.3 $\mu$mpolycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon (PAH) feature and its connection to active galactic nucleus (AGN) propertiesfor a sample of 54 hard X-ray selected bright AGN, including both Seyfert 1 and Seyfert 2 type objects. The sample is selected from the 9-month {\sl Swift}/BAT survey in the 14--195 keV band and all of the sources have known neutralhydrogen column densities ($N_{\rm H}$). The 3.3 $\mu$m PAH luminosity ($L_{\rm 3.3{\mu}m}$) is used as a proxy for star-formation (SF)activity and hard X-ray luminosity ($L_{\rm 14-195keV}$) as an indicator of the AGN power. We explore for possible difference of SFactivity between type 1 (un-absorbed) and type 2 (absorbed) AGN. We use several statistical analyses taking the upper-limits of thePAH lines into account utilizing survival analysis methods. The results of our $\log(L_{\rm 14-195keV})$ versus $\log(L_{\rm 3.3{\mu}m})$regression shows a positive correlation and the slope for the type 1/unobscured AGN is steeper than that of type 2/obscured AGN at a$3\sigma$ level. Also our analysis shows that the circum-nuclear SF is more enhanced in type 2/absorbed AGN than type1/un-absorbed AGN for low $L_{\rm 14-195keV}$ luminosity/low Eddington ratio AGN, while there is no significant dependence of SF activityon the AGN type in the high $L_{\rm 14-195keV}$ luminosities/Eddington ratios.
Dos crisis económicas recientes en México
Gerardo Angeles Castro(헤라르도 앙헬레스 카스트로),Jonathan Ortiz Galindo(조나단 오르티스 갈린도) 한국라틴아메리카학회 2010 라틴아메리카연구 Vol.23 No.3
This work shows some different definitions and theoretical foundations to understand the problem of asymmetric information thus supports the theory of banking and financial crisis. Also discussed the evolution of the 1994-1995 and 2008-2009 financial crisis, we contrast the theory of financial crisis and we make a comparison of the development of the two recessionary periods under study. Once discarded asymmetric information problems as the reason for the crisis of 2008-2009, we show the causes that led to this period of recession and approach makes the prospects for economic recovery.
Dualismo, Neoclasismo, Crecimiento y Desarrollo en la Ciudad de México
Gerardo Angeles-Castro,헤라르도 앙헬레스-카스트로 한국라틴아메리카학회 2008 라틴아메리카연구 Vol.21 No.4
Over the last few years in Mexico, the Capital City tends to abandon the roll of being a dominant pole that boosts polarization in terms of economic and human development concentration. According to the Dualist thesis, over the longer-run a pole can exert a spread effect of growth and development, due to natural reasons and public policy. Although the Federal District keeps the highest indicators of per cápita income and human development, these indicators have the lowest growth in relation to the other local states. The neoclassical postulates can justify this trend, because they claim that regions with a high initial development tend to have lower growth. However, international comparisons show that the economic and human development indicators in Mexico City have fallen behind, and therefore the City does not have a solid spread effect in the national territory. In contrast, the economic and human development performance in Mexico City tends to slow down the national performance.

Cultured cells treated with equal concentrations of thiazine photosensitizers methylene blue (MB) or toluidine blue (TB) showed a distinct photodynamic lethality, with TB being much more effective, when exposed to red light from a LED source. This effect is accounted for because of the differences in the chemical reduction of MB and TB in the intracellular environment. While TB accumulates as blue granular structures, MB does not give such a localization pattern. However, upon exposure of MB-treated cells to oxidant agents, the dye becomes clearly localized in the cytoplasm as blue granules. We propose that massive reduction of MB to its leuco form inside the cell inhibits most of the photodynamic damage, while no such reduction occurs with TB.
Multibeam Satellite Frequency/Time Duality Study and Capacity Optimization
Lei, Jiang,Vazquez-Castro, Maria Angeles The Korea Institute of Information and Commucation 2011 Journal of communications and networks Vol.13 No.5
In this paper, we investigate two new candidate transmission schemes, non-orthogonal frequency reuse (NOFR) and beam-hopping (BH). They operate in different domains (frequency and time/space, respectively), and we want to know which domain shows overall best performance. We propose a novel formulation of the signal-to-interference plus noise ratio (SINR) which allows us to prove the frequency/time duality of these schemes. Further, we propose two novel capacity optimization approaches assuming per-beam SINR constraints in order to use the satellite resources (e.g., power and bandwidth) more efficiently. Moreover, we develop a general methodology to include technological constraints due to realistic implementations, and obtain the main factors that prevent the two technologies dual of each other in practice, and formulate the technological gap between them. The Shannon capacity (upper bound) and current state-of-the-art coding and modulations are analyzed in order to quantify the gap and to evaluate the performance of the two candidate schemes. Simulation results show significant improvements in terms of power gain, spectral efficiency and traffic matching ratio when comparing with conventional systems, which are designed based on uniform bandwidth and power allocation. The results also show that BH system turns out to show a less complex design and performs better than NOFR system specially for non-real time services.
