A health index was proposed that evaluates personal health state from both measured physiological variables and survey questions. Four health indices were defined such as cardiovascular index, stress index, obesity index, and management index. The total health index was calculated by summing these four health indices. Physiological variables such as blood pressure, heart rate variability(HRV), accelerated photoplethysmograph(APG), and body fat percentage were non-invasively measured and a survey questionnaire that asks personal health state, exercise intensity, and food preference was developed. The suggested health index was applied to thirty eight persons including 30 patients and 8 normal persons with an average age of 51.8. The average health index was estimated to be 75.1 out of 100 points. Young age group(below 50) and men group showed higher health indices than the aged(over 50) and women groups. The correlation coefficient between the cardiovascular index and stress index was found to be 0.513, which means stress is related to cardiovascular health state. The correlation coefficient between the measurements and survey questions was 0.385 for the cardiovascular index. It was as low as 0.182 for the stress index. More case studies may improve correlations between measurements and survey questions, and then, the current health index system may develop as an effective tool to evaluate personal health state.

Catalytic reforming of $CO_2$ by $CH_4$ over Ni-YSZ based catalysts was investigated to produce syngas as raw material of high valued chemicals and develop high performance catalyst electrode for an internal reforming of $CO_2$ in SOFC system. Ni-YSZ based catalysts were prepared using physical mixing and maleic acid methods to improve catalytic activity and inhibition of carbon deposition. The catalysts before and after the reaction were characterized by $N_2$ physisorption, TPR(temperature programed reduction), XRD and impedance analyzer. The conversions for $CO_2$ and $CH_4$ over Ni-MgO catalyst showed 90% but much amount of carbon deposition was detected on catalyst surface. On the other hand, the conversions for $CO_2$ and $CH_4$ over NiO-YSZ-$CeO_2$ catalyst showed 100% and 85% respectively, and carbon deposition on catalyst surface was inhibited under the tested condition. It was concluded that NiO-YSZ-$CeO_2$ catalyst is a promising candidate for the catalytic reforming of $CO_2$ and the internal reforming in SOFC system.

The development of an exclusive 8-axis multi-tasking machine to finish multiple cutting processes by a single piece of power equipment for securing the high-precision machining and high productivity of the series of shafts (a core part of the automotive powertrain that delivers engine power) is needed. The rigidity of the structure must be improved and the weight of the structure must be reduced to develop a multi-tasking machine with high precision and high productivity. In this paper, we perform a static structural analysis of the initial design of the multi-tasking machines and compare the results of the multi-tasking machines improved by the reinforced design and the results of the initial one. According to the results of the structural analysis, the rigidity of the reinforced machine was increased and the overall weight was decreased. Therefore, the productivity was increased.

상용공정 모사기인 PRO-II를 이용하여 석탄 가스화에 의한 수소 제조공정 개념설계를 수행 하였다. 이 공정은 공기분리(ASU), 석탄가스화, 가스정제, 고온 WGS 반응, 저온 WGS 반응, 수분제거, H₂분리, CO₂ 분리, CH₄ 분리(PSA) 등으로 구성되어 있다. 가스화기의 모사조건은 온도 1200{sim}1500?C, 압력 15{sim}30atm, 공급몰비 C:H₂O:O₂=1:0.5sim1:0.25sim0.5로 하였으며, 정제공정의 온도와 압력은 각각 550?C, 24.5atm으로 하였다. 생성된 합성가스는 WGS(HTS(400?C, 24atm), LTS(250?C, 23.5atm)) 반응을 거쳐 고순도 수소로 분리정제된다. 석탄을 10ton/day으로 공급하였을 때, 804.0kmol/day의 수소가 생성되었으며, 이때 가스화기 조건은 1500?C, 25atm, 공급몰비 C:H₂O:O₂ = 1:0.58:0.43이었다.
니오비움 함유 복합 금속산화물 촉매의 선택산화반응에 관한 연구

프로판의 아크릴로니트릴로의 가암모니아 산화반응을 Nb₂O_5-V_(0.4)Mo₁Te_(0.1) 혼합촉매를 이용하여 연구하였다. 가암모니아 산화반응의 촉매적 활성은 강한 산성을 띠는 니오비움산화물을 몰리브덴계 산화물촉매(V_(0.4)Mo₁Te_(0.1))에 첨가함에 따라서 증가하였으며, 이때 아크릴로니트릴과 프로필렌의 선택율은 일정하게 유지되었다. 최대의 활성은 Nb₂O_5-V_(0.4)Mo₁Te_(0.1) 촉매 중 니오비움산화물이 25 wt%가 되었을 때 얻었으며, 니오비움산화물은 프로판의 탈수소과정에 선택적인 촉매임을 알았다. Conversion of propane to acrylonitrile via ammoxidation was studied using physically mixed catalysts composed of Nb₂O_5(10∼30 wt%) and V_(0.4)Mo₁Te_(0.1). Catalytic activities of ammoxidation were improved by adding strong acidic niobium oxide to V_(0.4)Mo₁Te_(0.1), the selectivities to acrylonitrile+propylene being remained constant. The maximum activity was obtained at the mixing ratio 25 wt% niobium oxide in Nb₂O_5-V_(0.4)Mo₁Te_(0.1). Niobium oxide was found to be a selective catalyst for the oxidative dehydrogenation of propane.
