The research on surface modification technology has been advanced to improve the properties of engineering materials. Ion implantation is a novel surface modification technology to enhance the mechanical, chemical and electrical properties of substrate’s surface using accelerated ions. In this research, nitrogen ions were implanted into aluminum substrates which would be used for mold of rubber materials. The composition of nitrogen ion implanted aluminum alloy and nitrogen ion distribution profile were analyzed by Auger Electron Spectroscopy (AES). To analyze the modified surface, properties such as hardness, friction coefficient, wear resistance, contact angle, and surface roughness were measured. Hardness of ion implanted specimens was higher than that of untreated specimens. Friction coefficient was reduced, and wear resistance was improved. From the experimental results, it can be expected that ion implantation of nitrogen enhances the surface properties of aluminum mold.

To analyze modification of surface properties, micro hardness, friction coefficient, wear resistance, contact angle, and surface roughness were measured. Hardness of ion implanted specimens was higher than untreated specimen and friction coefficient was also improved. In this experiment, it can be expected that nitrogen ion implantation can contribute to enhance the mechanical properties of material and ion implantation technology may also be applied to other materials.
영어 to-부정사와 동명사의 의미론적 속성과 용법 : 동사의 보문으로서의 to-부정사와 동명사를 중심으로

The objective of this study is to clear the relative semantic properties of to-Infinitive and Gerund and frame a theory that reasonably and comprehensively explains their usages. Before framing a theory, this study selected Bolinger(1968), Jacobson(1982), Wierzbica(1988) and Langacker(1991) as the previous representative researchers, and reviewed the validity of their study results. Bolinger(1968) asserted that “Gerund represents ‘factual things’, ‘realized things’ in the past, and to-Infinitive represents ‘subjunctive or unrealized things’ in the future”. Jacobson(1982) said, “There is a tendency that when mentioning general behaviors, Gerund is used, and when mentioning specific behaviors, to-Infinitive is used. Wierzbica(1988) asserted that “The verb in the main clause, which is combined with to-Infinitive complement, implies ‘want’.” However, considering the results of previous studies for the purpose of promoting the comprehensive validity of semantic studies on to-Infinitive and Gerund, this study organized 6 propositions like below, some times inductively and other times deductively. For this, this study looked into the meanings of preposition ‘to’ in relation with to-Infinitive. We confirmed that this becomes a decisive clue in understanding the meanings and usages of to-Infinitive as well as it has a direct and indirect usefulness in clearing the meanings and usages of Gerund complement.
한국 철도역사 건축디자인 개선을 위한 해외 지침 사례연구

본 연구는 한국 철도역사 건축디자인 개선을 위한 해외 철도역사 건축디자인 지침의 사례연구로 미국과 영국의 디자인지침을 중심으로 한국의 설계기준과 비교 분석하는 것을 목표로 한다. 미국 암트랙의 철도역 프로그램과 계획 가이드라인(2013)과 영국 네트워크 레일의 철도역 설계 원칙(2015)을 사례분석의 대상으로 삼고 한국철도시설공단의 철도설계지침 및 편람과 비교하여 그 차이와 시사점을 도출하였다. 해외 디자인 지침은 현대 철도건축의 지닌 도시 건축적 중요성과 기술의 발전에 맞추어 디자인의 질적 향상을 위한 가이드라인을 제시하고 있으며 그 내용을 한국 설계기준과 비교하였다. 그 결과, 한국 철도건축설계기준 개선을 위하여 통합적 디자인 원칙 마련이 요구되고, 이용수요 중심의 철도건축유형 재정립, 그리고 철도건축설계 프로세스의 지침화가 필요하다. This is a case study of overseas railway station design guidelines for the improvement of Korean railway design and focused on the US (Amtrak’s Station Program and Planning Guideline, 2013) and UK (Network Rail’s Station Design Principles, 2015) railway design guidelines. This study is aim to compare these two guideline with Korean design guideline and to find the differences and potential values. Both of two guidelines have indicated design principles for the design improvement which is adapted to the current urban architectural importance of railway station and the advanced technologies. As a result, for the improvement of design quality of Korean railway station, the Korean design guidelines need to set up integrated design principles, to re-categorize the building types based on the user-demand and to designate the design process in the design guideline.
