Antacides and H_2-receptor anatagonists are effective in the treatment of peptic ulcers. Reduction of acid secretion led to a rise in concentrations of intragastric aerobic bacteria and nitrate reducing bacteria. Nitrate reducing bacteria are able to convert endo-and exogenous nitrates to nitites, leading potentially to the synthesis of N-nitrosamines. these compounds are carcinogenic in experimental animals and could contribute to the development of malignancy. The present study was undertaken to see whether acid secretion by treatment with antacids and H_2-receptor anatagonists can induce formation of intraluminal nitrites, and withdrawal of antacids and H_2-receptor anatagonists can restore intraluminal nitrites. 24 normal subjects and 43 patients with endoscopically proven peptic ulcers were admitted to the study. Gastric juice of peptic ulcer patients were collected before, during, and after treatment with antacids and H_2-receptor anatagonists and that of normal subjects were collected only 1 time. Gastric juice was obtained with endoscopic aspiration. the pH and nitrite concentration were measured and compared. The result are as follow: 1. In gastric ulcer and duodenal ulcer, treatment with antacids and H_2-receptor anatagonist significantly increased gastric pH and nitrite concentration and withdrawal of antacids and H_2-receptor anatagonist resulted in a sjgnificant reduction of pH and nitrite concentration. There was no statistical difference in pH and nitrite concentration between the group who were not treated and group who were off the drug from 3 to 16 months before sampling. 2. Correlation between pH and nitrite concentration were present in gastric ulcer and duodenal ulcer before treatment with antacids and H_2-receptor anatagonist(Gastric ulcer: r=0.8600, p<0.001. Duodenal ulcer: r=0.8157, p<0.001). 3. The nitrite concentration of gastric ulcer was statistically higher than duodenal ulcer in, during and after treatment with antacids and H_2-receptor anatagonist(p<0.05, p<0.001).

This part summarized the survey contents of popularity of Korean novel in Chinese letter. First, the intelligent class in late Chosen went through self-conflict and increased in number. However in those days the society not only gave no good positions in government office to them but also had no social devices. This made them feel the necessity to show their desire and ideal indirectly, which was the background of the novel creation. Second, the writers in 19th century belonged to Sa Da Bu class, and they were interested in the Confucianism, In addition, they had great interest in various field such as Practicalism, Buddhism, and Do Sun Idealism. The writers contained many kinds of knowledge and showed Confucianism, Buddhism, and Goodness Idealism freely in their works. The 19th century Korean novel writers communicated directly with Sa Dae Bu people who lived in suburban area of centered city, Seoul. Also they had connection with them indirectly by way of mediator. That is, their works were based on tacit influence. Third, the writers had conversations about the novels in group and kept a record in criticism style. Especially in < Sam Han Sub Yu> there were an preface of Sa Dae Bu like Hong Suk Ju and Kim Mae Sun. There were criticism of 14 people like Park Yong Bo in <Yuk Mi Dang Gi>. In this point, these examples made it clear that novel creation and criticism were not individual and closed but collective and opened. Fourth, 19thcentury Korean novels in Chinese letter succeeded to tradition in our novel history from the Late shin La-the early Go Re. The writers used former descripitive patterns variously. That means they proceeded former novels in a positive way. Also they sough some change intentively in works and carried out new creative spirit although they accepted former aged novels. That means they adopted former patters in a critical way.
