백서의 intestinal lymph에서 lymph chylomicrons를 분리하였으며, 백서의 post-heparin plasma와 functionally hepatectomize시키고 eviscerate시킨 백서로 부터 각각 chylomicron remnants를 형성시켜 분리하였다. 이 chylomicrons와 plasma liporpoteins를 4% SDS-PAGE로 분석하여, apo B subspecies의 분표를 확인하고 human lipoproteins와 비교하였으며 그 결과에 의하면 백서의 plasma lipoproteins(VLDL, IDL, LDL)는 human과 달리 apo B-100와 B-48만 함유하고 있으며, 이 중 apo B-48은 백서의 intestine에서 합성되어 chylomicrons로 분비되는 유일한 apo B subspecies임을 밝혔다. Rat lymph chylomicrons were prepared by using post-heparin plasma and from the functionally hepatectomized and eviscerated rats. Rat chylomicrons and plasma lipoproteins were analyzed by 4% SDS-PAGE for the distribution of apo B subspecies and compared with that of human. The result showed that rat plasma lipoproteins (VLDL, IDL, and LDL) all contain both apo B-48 which differed from human lipoproteins. The result also provided an evidence that rat apo B-48 is the only apo B subspecies synthesized in the intestine and secreted in the chylomicrons.

DAKAR(Dongkuk Automatic Korean Address Recognizer) is a hand written Korean character recognition software system. Like other character recognition systems, it also consists of a preprocessing module, a recognizer and a post-processing module. This papper describes the post-processing module of DAKAR. It makes use of the syntactic analysis of input data and the statistic analysis of the behavior of the recognizer. Syntactically valid words are organized into a dictionary. The statistic analysis is based on Bayes' Theorem. The value obtained from the statstic analysis is called certainty factor. The idea behind the post-processing method is that the result of the recognizer must be the same as one of the dictionary entries. Thus, the post processing is to find the closest dictionary entry to the result of the recognizer weighted with the certainty factor. Therefore, the effectiveness and the efficiency of the post processing depend on the organization of the dictionary and the validness of the certainty factor. For the effectiveness of the module the dictionary must be complete, and the certainty factor must be valid. Furthermore, for the efficiency of the technique, the dictionary must be well structured. This paper describes the post-processing module of DAKAR including the way of building dictionaries, the way of calculating certainty factors, and the effectiveness of the module, The way of building the dictionaries employed by the post-processing module is unique in that the consumed space is minimized, and yet the maximum speed of access is guaranteed. This uniqueness is achieved by putting all the strines at one place all together and by organizing the entries hierarchically. The method of calculating certainty factors is based on Bayes' Theorem. We make use of the RAM(Recognition Accumulating Matrix) in calculating certainty factors. Our algorithm of finding the closest dictionary entry to the result of the recognizer is unique in that the algorithm rejects the result of the recognizer if chossing the closest entry is ambiguous. This algorithm has an advantage of reducing the reject rate. The post-processing module promotes the recognition rate be 7.8% for address and 3% for name.

In this paper, a new method for character segmentation from Korean document images has been presented. A run length code table, which is the table of the black pixels representing the images of Korean characters, is abstracted from Korean document images. In Korean characters, vowels are the kernel of Korean character composition and the marginal points of a next character in images of Korean characters. so, an character segmentation strategy was developed, in which the Korean vowels are recognized first from the run length code table and the character segmentation is performed by the recognition of vowels.
