The purpose of this paper is to classify Korean vocabulary by the semantic criterion. In this paper I tried to answer the question that is "How do we get a classificational system which is faithful to the native speaker's cognitive system?" Until now we cannot find a satisfactory answer for this question I have reasons for saying this. There is no definite semantic criterion that reveals the cognitive system And there is no attempt to distinguish the classificational system from the semantic field and the semantic network. For these reasons, semantic classification of vocabulary has been arbitrary and purposeless in the linguistic aspect. So I discussed the matter that established the definite classificational criterion And I used the classifier system, the pronoun system and the Qualia structure for the constitution of the criterion Because only the criterion that based on phenomena of language can reveal the cognitive system objectively.

‘문장 인용 사전’ 편찬의 의의와 가능성

The purpose of this study was to evaluate the achievement and limit of 『Munjangsajeon』 (1953) and 『Munjangbaekwasajeon』(1988), and to find the new possibility of ‘Quotations Dictionary’ based on the above two dictionaries. In this study, the two dictionaries were reviewed, because 『Munjangsajeon』was the first quotations dictionary for Korean language and 『Munjangbaekwasajeon』 had been the final outcome since 『Munjangsajeon』 was published. After all, the possibility and orientation of compiling ‘Quotations Dictionary’ could be specified, when the two dictionaries were evaluated in advance. The Chapter 2 of this study included the bibliography and compilation background of『Munjangsajeon』 and 『Munjangbaekwasajeon』. The Chapter 3 handled the features of the two dictionaries from the perspective of macrostructure and microstructure, and it summarized the achievement and limit of the two dictionaries as the dictionary for writing. In particular, the Chapter 3 defined how the demand and compilation purpose of ‘Quotations Dictionary’ influenced upon the system and contents of the dictionary. The Chapter 4 suggested briefly the methodology of compiling ‘Quotations Dictionary’ as the dictionary for expression, while reviewed the proposals of Lee Sang-Seob (1998) based on the discussion of the Chapter 3.

국어 환경의 변화와 규범 정책의 가능성

이 논문에서는 다음 두 질문을 던지고 이에 답하고자 하였다. 첫째, 규범 중심 국어정책을 비판하는 상황에서 규범 정책에는 어떤 가능성이 있는가. 둘째, 국어 사용의 다양성이 확대되는 방향으로 국어 환경이 변화하는 상황에서 규범 정책에는 어떤 가능성이 있는가. 2장에서는 규범 중심 국어정책이 이루어진 역사적 맥락을 살펴보았고, 기존 규범 정책의 한계를 지적하며 그 가능성을 살펴보았다. 3장에서는 국어의 다양성이 확대되는 국어 환경의 변화 상황에서 공공 언어 통제의 필요성을 강조하며 규범 정책의 가능성을 살펴보았다. 4장에서는 규범 정책의 가능성을 모색하는 논의의 일환으로, ‘정보화, 다원화, 세계화, 남북통합’에 따른 국어 환경의 변화 상황에서 규범 정책의 전환 방향에 대해 논의하였다. 이러한 논의를 통해 본고에서는 국어의 다양성을 보장함과 동시에 원활하고 평등한 소통을 보장하는 것이 국어정책의 원칙이 되어야 함을 밝혔고, 이러한 원칙을 견지하면서 규범 정책의 가능성을 모색해야 함을 강조하였다. In this paper, I would like to answer two questions. First, what are the possibility of normalization policies when criticizing norm based national language policies? Second, what are the possibilities of normalization policies in the changing situation of the national language environment in the direction of the expanding diversity of the use of national language? In Chapter 2, I looked at the historical context in which norm based national language policies were made. And I pointed to the limitations of normalization policies and looked at its possibilities. In Chapter 3, I discussed the need for public language control in the face of changes in the national language environment, where the diversity of the national language is expanding, and discussed the possibilities of normalization policies. In Chapter 4, as part of the discussion exploring the possibilities of normalization policies, I discussed the direction of the transition of normalization policies in the situation of changes in the korean language environment due to "informatization, pluralization, globalization, and North-South integration." Through these discussions, we emphasized that ensuring the diversity of the national language and ensuring smooth and equal communication should be the principle of national language policy, and that the possibility of normalization policies should be explored in the process of upholding these principles.

해외 한국학 전공자를 위한 한국학 영문 사전 편찬의 쟁점 - 한국 근대 간행물 < 영문 사전> 편찬 사례를 중심으로-

이 연구에서는 해외 한국학 전공자와 연구자를 위한 이용자 중심의 영문 사전을 편찬하기 위해 점검해야 할 사전학적 문제와 번역학적 문제에 대해 짚어보고 이를 해결할 방안에 대해 한국 근대 간행물 영문 사전을 통해 제안하려는 데 목적이 있다. 한국학 관련 사전과 해제, 웹 서비스 자원 등은 한국학의 발전과 한국사전학계의 노력을 통해 상당한 규모와 수준으로 구축되었다. 그러나 해외에서 한국학을 전공하는 학부생이나 대학원생, 한국학에 대한 정보를 원하는 외국인들을 위해 출간하였거나 웹을 통해 서비스 중인 영문 자료는 부재하다. 최근에 여러 기관과 연구진이 국내외 한국학 전공자를 위한 영문 지식 콘텐츠 구축 사업에 박차를 가하고 있다. 특히 영문 사전편찬 사업은 한국학중앙연구원을 중심으로 이루어지고 있는바, 한국학 영문 사전 편찬의 주요 이슈를 살펴보는 일은 중요하다. 2장에서는 해외 한국학 전공자가 참조할 만한 한국 근대 간행물을 다룬 백과사전, 전문 사전 해제집 등의 자료가 주로, 국문으로 작성되었음을 밝혔다. 3장에서는 현재 편찬 중인 <한국 근대 간행물 영문 사전>을 중심으로 먼저 사전학적 측면에서 사전의 성격과 목표 설정, 사전 이용자의 요구, 사전의 구조와 내용의 수준이 어떠해야 하는지에 대해 다루었다. 다음으로 번역학적 측면에서 직역과 의역의 문제, 이용자를 고려한 문체의 수준, 개념어 번역 방법, 고유명 표기안 등의 문제를 다루어 각각의 편찬 방법론을 대략적으로 소개하였다. 이러한 논의는 향후 해외 한국학 전공자를 위한 영문 사전의 방향성 설정과 편찬 원칙 수립에 직접적인 기여를 할 것으로 기대한다. The purpose of this study is to investigate the lexicographical and translational problems to compile a user-centered English dictionary for overseas Korean studies majors and researchers and to provide suggestions to enhance the usage of the English dictionary in Korean modern publications. With the development of Korean Studies, a variety of resources related to Korean studies, including dictionaries, has increased considerably in volume and depth. However, there are no proper published resources in English for multiple groups; undergraduates or graduate students majoring in Korean studies abroad or foreigners who want to gain some information about Korean studies via websites. Several institutions and researchers have been stepping up projects to build knowledge-based content in English for Korean studies majors, domestic and overseas, in recent times. In particular, since the English dictionary compilation project is centered on the Academy of Korean Studies, it is important to take a look at the main issues of the English dictionary compilation of Korean studies. Chapter 2 stated that data such as encyclopedias, professional dictionaries, and commentary books targeting modern Korean newspapers, magazines, and books were mainly written in Korean. Chapter 3 first dealt with the problem of the types and goal setting for descriptions of the dictionary, the needs of the dictionary user, and the structure and content of the dictionary, focusing on the English Dictionary of Modern Korean Publications, which is currently being compiled. At the end of the chapter, each compilation methodology was introduced roughly by dealing with problems such as translation and translation in terms of translation, level of style considering users, conceptual translation method, and proper name notation. This study is expected to contribute directly to the establishment of the guidelines and compilation principles of English dictionaries for overseas Korean studies majors in the future.

주시경 문법서의 한글화 과정과 ≪조선 말갈≫

이 논문에서는 세 가지 문제를 중심으로 논의를 진행하였고, 이 논의를 토대로 ≪조선 말갈≫의 저술 목적과 의의를 설명하였다. 첫째, 새로 발굴된 주시경의 문법서인 ≪조선 말갈≫의 저술 시기를 추정하였고, 이 과정에서 ≪조선 말갈≫이 주시경의 다른 문법서들과 어떤 관계에 있는지를 밝혔다. 둘째, 주시경 문법서의 기술 내용이 ≪조선 말갈≫을 전후하여 어떻게 달라졌는지를 정리하였고, 이를 토대로 ≪조선 말갈≫의 국어학사적 의미를 설명하였다. 셋째, 주시경 문법서의 설명 방식과 설명 문장이 ≪조선 말갈≫을 전후하여 어떻게 달라졌는지를 살펴보았고, 이 변화의 의미를 문법서의 한글화라는 맥락에서 설명하였다. In this paper, discussion was conducted focusing on three issues, and based on these discussions, the purpose and significance of the writing of Joseon Malgal was explained. First, we estimated the time of writing of the newly discovered grammar book of Ju Si-gyeong, Joseon Malgal, and in this process, revealed the relationship between Joseon Malgal and other grammar books written by Ju Si-gyeong. Second, we examined how the descriptions of Ju Si-gyeong's grammar book changed before and after Joseon Malgal, and based on this, explained the meaning of Joseon Malgal in the history of Korean linguistics. Third, we examined how the explanation method and explanatory sentences of Ju Si-gyeong's grammar book changed before and after Joseon Malgal, and explained the meaning of this change in the context of the Hangeulization of the grammar book.
