흐름이 존재하는 완경사 해역에서의 파랑변형-이론적 고찰

파랑이 완경사해역을 전파해 갈 때 흐름 및 수량변화에 의한 파의 굴절, 회절 등의 파랑변형현상을 나타낼 수 있는 완경사 파동방정식을 변분원리를 이용하여 유도하였다. 이 식은 쌍곡형방정식으로 Kirby(1984)의 식과 같다. 정상상태의 단순 규칙파에 대한 수치모형을 유한채분법을 이용하여 수립하였으며 이 모형은 개방해역에서 계산의 효율 및 정착도가 타모형에 비해 우수하다. 이암류와 규칙파의 상호작용 현상을 수치모형실험을 통해 상세하게 분석하였다. Theoretical studies have been made to analyze combined refraction diffraction of the wind waves propagating on a large scale current in water of varying depth. The governing equation for monochromatic waves was derived through splitting a mild slope equation into two equations. A numerical model is developed using finite difference scheme which is computationally very efficient for modelling large area. Numerical examples concerning the interactions between waves and rip currents over a gentle slope are presented, in which the current effects on the wave diffraction in the caustic region are closely examined.
WAVE MODELLING FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF PUSAN NEW HARBOR

For the basic design of Pusan New Harbor that will be the third largest container hub-port in the world, extensive wave measurements and wave propagation modeling were made. They are mainly for estimating shallow-water design wave height and determining breakwater alignment to acquire harbor tranquility. The directionality of short crested waves is proved to be very important when they propagate through the waterway. Bounded long-period waves with a small amplification were observed in the shallow water area, which might cause horizontal motions of the container ship moored at a berth aligned to the south. Modified and extended numerical wave models are found to be reasonably good at simulating the measured wave propagation phenomena. Hybrid modeling was made to evaluate harbor tranquility combining numerical and physical modeling results.

Forty two consecutive patients who had had valve replacement with St. Jude Medical prosthesis were studied on a view point of intravascular hemolysis. Patients were consisted of 14 mitral valve replacement, and 7 aortic valve replacement, and 21 double, mitral and aortic, valve replacement. Serum LDH, indirect bilirubin, GOT, hemoglobin levels and ret-iculocyte count were pursued in postopeative 1st day, 3rd day, 7th day, 14th day and 21th day. Postoperatively, all patients were not detected paravalvular leakage on the ech-ocardiographical study. The patients with double valve replacement revealed higher levels of LDH on postopeative 14th day[P<0 05] than those with single valve replacement. Among the patients with single valve replacement, the patients with aortic valve replacement revealed slightly higher levels of entire postopeative data, but considered insignificant. There was correlation between the severity of hemolysis and the size of replaced aortic valve. In the postoperative LDH levels, the patients with small sized-aortic valve[less than 21mm in diameter] replacement revealed higher levels of postoperative 3rd day, 7th day and 14th day than those with large size[more than 23mm in diameter]. The patients with high level LDH of greater than 800 WU /L on postoperative 7th day were 61.9%[26 of 42]. The high LDH frequency of DVR was 71.4%[15 of 21], MVR 50.0%[7 of 14] and AVR, 57.1%[4 of 7]. The level of LDH declined gradualiy thereafter through postoperative 3 weeks. In conclusion, intravascular hemolysis after prosthetic valve replacement was dependent on position of valve replacement and size of valve. And this study supports the conventional valve selection and usage in our hospital. The patients with subclinical hemolysis after valve replacement should be placed on a close observation.
